Hey fibre arts friends and bog friends, there's an interesting talk about BOG FASHION on April 5, live at the Ashmolean museum in Oxford and also on Zoom:

The BOG FASHION talk is over and it was really interesting! Nicole is a great communicator and was really good at making sometimes dry and vague details about ancient fabric fragments really relatable and funny, I learned a ton of new stuff. I don't know that much about prehistoric fabric and fashion but it all seemed well researched and well sourced and also I have the urge to read 2469 books about it now? I did appreciate her perspective that clothing from that era was most likely largely gender neutral.

My wonderful and clever friend C (who was the one to link me to the event in the first place!) was in the audience at the Ashmolean and took a lot of pictures of the reconstructed fabrics and garments there, and she very graciously allowed me to put them on tumblr, hopefully to the delight of other bog friends. She also went out of her way to get a signed copy for @comfortabletextiles so I bet we'll get a little review, too 👀👀.
