Portable storage for your files and data isn't getting cheaper, thanks to the AI boom, which is why it's important to pick up a bargain while you can. Luckily, this microSD card could be a good option for your portable devices, from laptops to handhelds, along with cameras, drones, consoles, and more. This 256GB Samsung P9 Express microSD card is down to just $47.99 right now, reduced from $79.99, and saving you 40% in the process.
You can expect maximum sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s, with write speeds of 200 MB/s. Those speeds make this Samsung P9 Express card up to four times faster than a typical UHS-I microSD card. It also features Host Memory Buffer (HMB) functionality to help improve data transfer speeds, with Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG) support to help stop the card from overheating and limiting its performance.
This Samsung P9 Express microSD express card offers up to 800 MB/s data transfer speeds and is fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. It also offers features such as Host Memory Buffer (HMB), Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG), and 6-proof durability.
Durability is important with microSD cards, and Samsung reckons this model is well protected against water immersion, extreme temperature variations, and even X-ray exposure. Ultimately, though, if you get it a bit wet, or drop it, you shouldn't lose your data. It comes with a 3-year limited warranty, and also supports Samsung's Magician software, which can help you monitor the card's health and to double-check that it's a genuine product.
There are a good set of reasons why you might want to pick up a card like this, especially if you're on the go a lot, but it's a firm recommendation if you're looking for a microSD card specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 is one of the first consoles to offer microSD Express support, meaning it can use this Samsung P9 Express card's faster storage speeds compared to older UHS-I cards. For gaming on a handheld, expect faster load times and smoother performance, especially in the more demanding games.
Whether it's a Switch 2, laptop, or camera, the Samsung P9 Express is a great option for fast, future-proofed expandable storage. You'll want to grab this 256GB version for just $47.99 right now before it sells out or the price goes up.
