A reliable insider has doubled down on his prediction that Grand Theft Auto 6 will end up releasing this year as planned, even with all the recent drama and worry about another potential delay.

If you spend most days like me worrying about whether or not GTA 6 will actually end up launching this year and capping off nearly a decade of hype, rumours, and excitement, then you no doubt know everyone's worried about another delay. This is pretty much an eternal fear at this point, but the renewed fear comes from some innocuous comments Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier made.

Despite saying that he wouldn't be shocked if GTA 6 did release this year and not suggesting a delay is on the cards any more than we already know, Schreier saying the game wasn't content complete set off a lot of fears. Although most now think that GTA 6 could be delayed out of 2026, one reliable insider is sticking to his prediction that the game will launch when it's currently planned to.

Tom Henderson Is Sticking With His GTA 6 Release Date Prediction

Even With All The Fears Of A Third Delay

Before all of the "serious" talks about whether GTA 6 would get delayed again flared up, Insider Gaming's editor-in-chief, Tom Henderson, shared his predictions for 2026, including that GTA 6 would stick to its November release date. Henderson has had quite a track record with GTA 6 information in the past, to the point that Jason Schreier has even corroborated what he's shared.

What GTA 6’s Delay Means For The Games Industry

The entire release calendar moves every time GTA 6 does, so how will the latest delay impact everything else?

Even with the recent drama about GTA 6 not being content complete, it seems that Henderson is still confident enough in Rockstar that he hasn't budged on that prediction. During the latest episode of Insider Gaming Weekly, the team talked about the potential for a GTA 6 delay and whether they think it's going to happen.

Henderson also took the time to clarify what he meant about GTA 6 being content-ready, as he notes that game development is "tremendously" all over the place and can change on a moment's notice.

While Henderson does point out that GTA 6's release date doesn't really matter since we'll all end up buying it whenever it releases, he does double down on his previous prediction that GTA 6 will, in fact, launch on November 19. Henderson notes that everything we know about the "pipeline of console releases" and Rockstar's release timings makes him fairly confident that it's not getting delayed again.

As was the case with Henderson's original prediction, it's worth noting that he's not reporting this or claiming it to be true, and it's just his personal belief. That being said, with how much he's shared about GTA 6 in the past and how knowledgeable he is on Rockstar, it's worth keeping in mind whenever you get a little worried about GTA's release date.
