Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero continues to be the game of Dragon Ball fans' dreams, and its next update, which is slated for Summer 2026, is keeping that element alive.
As revealed during Sunday's Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour, the upcoming Summer 2026 update will bring forward 30+ new characters, several new stages, costumes, a new game mode and even some combat tweaks.
Titled the Sparking! Zero Super Limit-Breaking NEO update, the three-minute-plus-long trailer was heavy on the surprises, ranging from the heavily-requested Pikkon and GT version of Vegeta to Jaco.
The Sparking! Zero content update trailer wasn't the only major reveal during Sunday's festivities, as the Beerus anime remake also received a new trailer, plus we received confirmation that Age 1000 is actually Xenoverse 3, like many had suspected.
Elsewhere, Kid Uub and Mighty Mask, the disguise worn by Goten and Kid Trunks in the Buu Saga, were also part of the reveals.
The Trailer Was More Than Just Characters, Though
Things didn't stop there, either, as a grand total of four new stages will come to the game. They are as follows:
- Kami's Palace
- Kame House
- Bitter Tundra
- Stratosphere (Planet Vegeta) and Earth
Bitter Tundra is the same set piece from the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie that has since become iconic, while Stratosphere is what the space maps are being called.
As far as costumes are concerned, there are a ton to pick out. For one, Goku finally will have his End of Z outfit, complete with the blue gi. Meanwhile, Gohan will have a plethora of outfits from across his years, including his adult school outfit and the white shirt he wore during the lead-up to the Cell Games.
Finally, there will be a brand-new mode that has been designed by Zeno. It's being described as a three-stage experience, with players first selecting a destination on the map, with the locale being the home to a different fighter. Then, players will engage in either a battle or learning sequence. After that, you "level up" the character by selecting various effects.
In the trailer, one of the effects increases SP by 10 and also boosts Defense. Then rinse and repeat.
It's not been confirmed just yet, but the mode is giving off major Roguelike vibes, especially the level-up screen where the different effects have different intended primary and secondary boosts.
All of that will be accompanied by some combat tweaks via a new battle system that includes things like chain blasts and a Sparking! Boost power-up.
At this point, a game of dreams might be too generous. For Dragon Ball fans, Sparking! Zero might be the game of our lifetimes.
