Minecraft tower ideas, from a wizard's tower to Big Ben

The Leaning Tower of Pisa, created in Minecraft by YouTuber The Error Gamer.

Minecraft towers are always fun to build, with spiralling staircases that lead to mysterious secrets, trap doors that descend into the murky depths of an evil wizard's lair, and rooms that scrape the sky. There's a lot to love - and a lot to build. Some tower builds are complex, involved projects you can pick away at over days and weeks, though you can knock a few of them out much faster depending on what you're after.

With so much versatility, it's no surprise you've decided to build one. Of course, the hardest part of any Minecraft build is knowing where to start. So to help you get started, we've got a list of tower ideas that should fill you with inspiration and make it easier than ever to build your own soaring spire.

Below, you'll find 12 different Minecraft tower builds that we found particularly awesome, with everything from faithful renditions of well-known landmarks to recreations of famous fictional builds from the MCU. You can use the links below to jump through the page if a certain tower takes your fancy, or look through them all to get the creative energy flowing.

Medieval tower

One for the brooding necromancers, this medieval tower by Youtuber "MythicalSausage" uses Warped stone and Blackstone to create a look that oozes with evil. You can almost hear the witches cackling from here. If you need somewhere to sleep whilst you cook up horrible schemes for the other players on your server, this is the build for you. Surround it with some goats to really sell the devilish theme.

Survival tower

A survival tower stands tall over the forest in Minecraft, constructed by YouTuber ItsMarloe.

Most of the tower designs we've outlined here focus on form over function, but not this cool survival tower base by "ItsMarloe". Each level of the tower is designed for a specific purpose, including storage, smelting, and even holding a Nether portal. It also looks pretty cool, admittedly! In short, this is the ideal tower for the Minecraft survivalist who wants to hoard items and stand high over the landscape, sniping foes down below.

Big Ben

If you'd rather have some iconic architecture to make your world feel really special, Big Ben is a challenging build that will certainly look impressive when finished. "N11cK" has a video to show you exactly how to complete this yourself. If you're after more, they also have a video on how to make Tower Bridge, so you could actually make your own London in Minecraft.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa, created in Minecraft by YouTuber The Error Gamer.

It might lean to the side, but it'll never fall as long as you build it properly! Italy's most famous tower (with a nearly four degree lean) is stunningly re-created in a very long hour-and-a-half video by "The Error Gamer". Don't let that length intimidate you - this video's actually fairly relaxing to watch, and it contains all of the careful arrangements you've got to consider in order to create a tower that intentionally isn't straight.

Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower, created in Minecraft by YouTuber The Error Gamer.

If Big Ben or the Leaning Tower of Pisa weren't your style, why not take a trip to France for this wonderful rendition of the Eiffel Tower? Also created by "The Error Gamer", this video isn't quite as long, only coming in at a doable 49 minutes instead of an hour and a half. The Eiffel Tower sure looks grand, though, and has been lovingly recreated right down to the French flag flying at the top - which is only occasionally displayed on the actual real-life tower, mind!

Avengers tower

If you're a comic book or superhero movie nerd, there are few buildings more iconic than Avengers Tower. YouTuber "TSMC - Minecraft" has created a tutorial that will walk you through every step of crafting Tony Stark's tower, leaving you with a stunning structure perfect for Spider-Man to swing off of. Whether you want to reenact your favourite scenes from the films, or you just want to lounge around in some awesome Marvel skins, this is the perfect build for any Marvel fan.

Castle tower

If you're looking for a true classic, this castle tower by "Welsknight Gaming" should be at the top of your list to try. With moss creeping across the stone and iron bars on the windows, this tower feels like it has been ripped straight out of a history book. Head to the top to find the perfect platform for firing some arrows and protecting your village. You could even add a stable outside so that you have somewhere to keep your horses.

Wizard tower

For Minecraft players who enjoy pondering their orb, this tower by "Zaypixel" will be the perfect base. From the outside, the flowers and other greenery create a calming, enticing atmosphere that would fool any ne'er-do-wells into thinking you're not a threat. However, head inside and you'll find everything that you need to enchant some weapons and brew some potions. Those enemy mobs will never see it coming!

Paw Patrol Headquarters

Listen here - Paw Patrol is brilliant, and I won't hear otherwise. If you want to create the Paw Patrol Headquarters lookout tower in your own world, "TSMC - Minecraft" makes it look easy with their tutorial. Add in some cool houses and you could even build your very own Adventure Bay. Even if you're not a fan of Paw Patrol, ditch the logo and you're left with a tower that is much more vibrant than the other builds in this guide, so use it to make your world really pop!

Simple tower

If you're looking for something that's a little easier than the other entries in this guide, then this simple tower by YouTuber"GeminiTay" is a great starting point. Built using materials that are easy to gather, this tower should be easy to build in either creative or survival mode. Take a step back when you finish building and you'll see that it still looks great too! Take a look at our list of the best Shader packs in Minecraft to really make this build come alive.

Epic tower

Most of these towers take a lot of work, but this medieval tower from A1Mostaddicted Minecraft is a real time investment. The payoff is worth it, though. It's a huge tower with an unusual shape — slightly tapered near the base, flared at the middle, and built out from that flare toward the top. The style changes as you go further up, too, with tiled roofs and ivy-covered stone walls making a nice, cozy contrast to the almost dungeon-like base. There's even a small selection of berry bushes and potted plants at this level that you could build on to make it more of a stylish, if highly impractical, apartment, instead of just a decorative tower. The tutorial isn't step-by-step like some, but as the creator notes, the goal with this is to give you a general idea of how to build the basics and let you experiment with the details to make it your own.

Fishing Hut tower

A lot of the tower designs in this list are fairly recent, but we dug back through A1's other builds and found this Fishing Tower from 2019. The tower itself sprouts from a rustic fishing hut that, despite its humble appearance, is big enough to double as a survival house if you want to make this build a more practical one. The tower sports a couple of big hooks and cranes on the sides, but it's the attention to detail that stands out the most here. The wooden support pillars in the center blend in so well that they almost go unnoticed, but they make a huge difference in the final build. This build video is a step-by-step tutorial, so you can recreate it 1:1 if you want.
