To wrap up the season, we enlisted Detroit-based artist Mark Serra to hand-paint custom Litter-Robot units for a few Lions players (and their little lions), delivered straight to Ford Field. It was our way of celebrating the pride we have in our team and our city as our second season partnering with the Detroit Lions comes to a close. Proud of the collaboration, proud of the craft, and grateful to the Whisker team who helped bring this moment to life—and also proud to show the world that big, tough guys, like Defensive Player of the Year candidates, love cats as much as we do. 🦁 #Whisker #DetroitLions #LitterRobot

Some of the leaders who are hiring right now to support these efforts - Viral Kadakia Brenden Lane Ryan Prichard Ren Zhang and myself. For context, see some of the commerce work the team is doing in the post below from Alex. As he says, we have a once in a decade opportunity to reimagine commerce, grounds up. The new PayPal is beginning to take shape, although candidly a lot remains to be done. If you are a builder, you will have fun. Reminds me of the some of the stuff we did at GoDaddy way back when. https://lnkd.in/g9rZfeYVSteven Fang reposted thisPayPal is bringing payments and commerce to ChatGPT. Soon, hundreds of millions of people who use ChatGPT and PayPal will be able to checkout in just a few taps. Steven Fang liked thisThe study is finally out! Great achievementSteven Fang liked thisWe’re proud to share a major milestone for Helio Genomics. Our study on early detection of liver cancer, based on the CLiMB study evaluating a multi-analyte blood-basedtest, has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Hepatology. This represents years of work and, more importantly, an opportunity to address a real gap in how liver cancer is detected today. For the first time, we will be able to share results from our head-to-head comparison data. Liver cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide, and current screening methods miss many cancers at an early stage. This represents an important step forward in advancing early detection. Steven Fang liked thisI shared in our developer keynote this morning that we’re opening up Salesforce & Agentforce to agents with new CLIs, MCPs, APIs, and Skills. This is a pivotal moment for Salesforce. Headless 360 enables agents to be built on top of Salesforce in ways never possible before. We believe agents will fundamentally transform how we build software. And the same will be true for agent development itself. I can’t wait to see what this unlocks for our community.Steven Fang liked thisFor 25 years, using Salesforce meant working inside Salesforce. A customer service rep opened a console, clicked into a case, and manually updated its status. A human, navigating a platform, to get work done. But in the Agentic Enterprise, humans aren’t the only ones doing the navigating. Agents are too, and they don't go to a browser or click through UIs. They call APIs, invoke MCP tools, and run CLI commands directly. So two and a half years ago, Salesforce made a decision: rebuild for agents. Instead of burying capabilities behind a UI, expose them so the entire platform will be programmable and accessible from anywhere. If a platform requires humans to click through UIs or write code directly to make progress, it is not ready for the Agentic Enterprise. The result is the new Salesforce Headless 360: the capabilities agents need most, exposed as an API, MCP tool, or CLI command so humans and agents can build, act, and deliver experiences on any surface. This extends across the full breadth of what Salesforce has built, from the processes that resolve customer support cases, to the workflows that help sales teams close deals. Salesforce Headless 360 delivers three new innovations: 🔹New MCP tools and coding skills that give coding agents full access to a user's platform. 🔹A new experience layer that renders rich, native interactions across every surface, from Slack to Voice to WhatsApp. 🔹New tools that give users control over how agents behave in production, before launch and after. https://sforce.co/4tcMpXsIntroducing Salesforce Headless 360. Steven Fang liked thisSteven Fang liked thisAs I mentioned in my last post, today is a new “day one”. I’m exicited to get started with Whisker this week!😸 First and foremost, a thank you to Jacob Zuppke 🐈 and Kyle Ashley for the opportunity to take the Amazon business forward and also to the broader leadership team (Joshua Chandler Tosin Kolade) for giving me their time during my exploration. I’m a Michigander, born and raised, so it was a perfect fit to join a company founded and operated in the metro Detroit area, the capital of American manufacturing. Our devices are Midwest Made for the world. At Whisker, our mission is to create products that make life with pets endlessly better, to help pet owners manage chores and spend more time loving their pets. To my Amazon friends - I’m sure I’ll see you soon (Accelerate 2026?). Let’s go!

This will be a great session with Josh Smith and our AWS partners on turning AI into real enterprise value—not just isolated pilots. It’s grounded in lessons we’ve earned the hard way, figuring out how to build internal capability that compounds and creates measurable impact across merchandising, supply chain, and customer experience. At the center of it all: prioritizing, governing, and operationalizing AI in a way that actually sticks. The session walks through the frameworks and decisions that have made the difference. If you’re at re:Invent and want a clear view of what it truly takes to scale AI across the business, this is the one to catch.

Satya Nadella (Microsoft CEO) made a point this week on a topic I’ve discussed and thought a lot about recently: https://lnkd.in/eyXQvTdt I like his human-capital / token-capital framing though I’d push it one step further. Most of the conversation still assumes frontier capability stays scarce. It won’t. What required access to a state-of-the-art model 18 months ago increasingly runs on open weights and hardware you own. For a large share of the work that creates real enterprise value, the absolute frontier is no longer the constraint. And once everyone has the capability, the capability stops being the advantage. What’s left is harder to copy: knowing what matters, measuring it, and improving it in a loop. The organizations that win won’t be the ones with the best models. They’ll be the ones that learn faster than their competitors. That requires closing the loop between decision, outcome, and feedback. AI brings scale and speed. People bring judgment, perspective, and accountability. Neither closes the loop alone. The hard part was never deploying AI. It’s building the enterprise measurement system that lets you learn from it.

Garry Tan says MCP sucks. Perplexity is moving to direct APIs. Everyone's surprised. I'm not. We tried something similar with our RAG integration layer. Clever abstraction, clean architecture on paper. 3 weeks later: context bloat, brittle auth, more debugging than building. Replaced it with a direct API call. Took 2 hours. Has run cleanly for 4 months. In production, boring infrastructure scales and clever infrastructure debugs. So, build the simplest thing that ships first.

Week 3 after Amazon and the momentum is starting to build. This past week was full of forward motion. I created and launched an investor pitch page, attended SoCal Startup Day, made some great connections, and was unexpectedly invited to pitch my startup idea at a competition next month. I’ve also had a few promising phone screens for AI-first engineering leadership roles. It feels like doors are opening in several directions at once. In parallel, I’ve been heads-down making progress on my MVP. The pain I’m exploring is one that many engineers are starting to feel: AI can generate code incredibly fast, but it doesn’t yet generate reliable systems. It creates components that look complete, and sometimes even functional, but they often lack the deeper design considerations that make software sustainable even as it evolves. Metrics and observability, long-term evolution, lifecycle, cohesion across layers. AI solves for the prompt, not the vision and not the architecture. And often vibe coding creates overconfidence that a real system has been created, when what’s actually been produced is only a re-invinted wheel prototype with missing spokes. That gap fascinates me. It feels like we’re still applying pre-AI assumptions to an AI-first world. Principles and patterns shaped around human limitations shouldn't be automatically mapped to an environment where code can be produced, rewritten, or replaced instantly. The more I experiment, the more curious I become about what becomes possible when we stop assuming the baked-in human constraints that shaped the last 20 years of software engineering should define the next 20. This week I validated a key part of my thesis in code. I won’t go into details yet, but it gave me confidence that the direction I’m pursuing isn’t just theoretical. There is a real path forward here. If you’re exploring how AI is reshaping the foundations of software development, or if you’ll be at any upcoming startup or pitch events in Southern California, I’d love to connect! #startups #founders #ai #sdlc #architecture #preseed #socalstartupday

If you’re a CEO/founder or PE operator and your tech org is: ❌ Shipping late ❌ Stuck in reactive mode ❌ Struggling through the Series A/B jump, or post-acquisition integration or after a major release It’s not “a delivery problem.” It’s an operating model problem. At the inflection point, the old playbook breaks: what worked at 10 engineers fails at 40… and breaks again across multiple products/teams. That’s where I come in as a fractional CTO: - Spot platform and delivery risks before they hit revenue and retention - Rebuild execution rituals (prioritization, ownership, release confidence) without derailing the roadmap - Align architecture + team structure to your value-creation plan (growth, margin, or exit timeline) If you’re feeling the strain of growth, I can help you turn “busy and reactive” into predictable shipping, and a platform that scales. #CTO #SaaS #StartupScale #PrivateEquity #TechStrategy
