Justin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisJustin Chen Li, CFA reposted this543 days. In 543 days we went from standing up a new company, Claros, to a $232.8M outcome. Claros is a perfect example of what the Red Cell Partners model and platform can achieve, in hardware no less. Congratulations to Daniel Kultran, the Claros team, and our fellow investors. Justin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisJustin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisThe partnerships that matter most are the ones that help turn great technology into real-world impact. That’s why I’m excited to see Red Cell Partners portfolio company Andesite and Booz Allen Hamilton working together. Cyber defenders are being asked to operate against threats moving at unprecedented speed and scale. Meeting that challenge will require more than simply adding AI to existing workflows — it will require pairing machine speed with human expertise, judgment, and accountability. Andesite is building the Human-AI SOC around that principle. Booz Allen brings deep operational experience and the ability to help bring advanced cyber capabilities into some of the most demanding environments in the world. This is exactly the kind of collaboration we need to accelerate the next generation of cyber defense. Congratulations to Brian Carbaugh, the Andesite team, Raynor Dahlquist, and the Booz Allen team. #Cybersecurity #AI #nationalsecurity-news https://lnkd.in/eC-kCFgQ

Justin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisJustin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisTrase has raised a $107 million seed round led by ARCH Venture Partners. Trase’s agentic operating system, Trase Origin, was built for elite, high-stakes organizations, designed to ensure data sovereignty, auditability, predictability, and governance across workflows. Trusted where failure is not an option, Trase has successfully deployed specialized AI agents inside Duke University Health System's Division of Cardiology. The early results speak for themselves: fax triage that is 7.1x faster, 1,395 hours returned to clinical staff each month, and $285K+ in annual staff capacity reinvested in patient care. CEO Grant Verstandig and President Baskar Sridharan share their rationale for bringing AI to mission-critical industries and why the hardest part isn't building the agents, but the infrastructure that makes them trustworthy: https://lnkd.in/eRPRHq9K #Trase #SeedRound #FundRaise #AIAgents #VentureStudio #ImpactThroughInnovation

Justin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisJustin Chen Li, CFA reposted thisThe fax machine is a relic. And yet, there are thousands of health systems that rely on an antiquated technology day in and day out for critical functions like prescription refills. Duke Health's Division of Cardiology receives thousands of them a month – each one manually sorted by a nurse or medical assistant who went to school for years to care for patients, not push paper. On a Monday morning in mid-April, we turned on Trase's fax routing agent for the first time. By the end of the day, it had processed 800+ faxes. In the weeks that followed, we delivered 7.1x faster triage, with 98.1% accuracy, and returned 1,395 hours to clinical staff every month to be allocated to higher order (i.e. patient-focused) cases. The fax problem sounds small – in the full scope of American healthcare, maybe it is – but it's where you prove your approach works before you bring it somewhere that matters more. Countless start ups focus either on administrative or clinical use cases, the reality is healthcare is about the intersection between the two. What we have built at Trase is the unbreakable foundation for America’s mission-critical industries. Trase Origin is an agentic operating system that helps manage agents like employees — with the same access controls, audit trail, and compliance requirements as any human staffer — purpose-built for the regulated environments where sovereignty, predictability, and accountability are non-negotiable. Today, Trase announced its $107M seed round, led by Bob Nelsen and ARCH Venture Partners. ARCH has spent nearly four decades backing companies that have reshaped healthcare; they understand that AI's biggest impact will be on the high-stakes American institutions that have been bogged down by inefficient systems for far too long. More of our thoughts on this incredible moment in our new blog: https://lnkd.in/eptNWX6j

Justin Chen Li, CFA shared thisI spent the day at Red Cell Partners HQ in D.C. with CEO Grant Verstandig. Red Cell is building a serious ecosystem of category-defining companies in some of the toughest industries: DEFCON AI just closed a $115M contract with USMC. Zephyr AI raised $111M from Eli Lilly and others and built one of the world’s largest multimodal clinicogenomics data sets for precision medicine. I’m particularly excited about Trase Systems, which sits at the orchestration layer of enterprise AI agents, solving the problem of high token costs and data governance (providing on-premises and air-gapped deployment that protect sensitive data), especially in highly regulated industries such as healthcare and defense. I’m excited to announce that I participated in Trase’s $107M oversubscribed seed round led by ARCH Venture Partners which was just announced on Axios today. Grant previously exited Rally Healthcare to United Health Group for $4B, and cofounded Epirus, which raised a $250M Series D last year to scale production of its High Power Microwave (HPM) drone defense technology. Sometimes, like Elon Musk and Palmer Luckey, you bet on the founder, and on that note, Grant doesn’t miss. https://lnkd.in/giWzaK3x

SpaceX has launched more than 12,000 Starlink satellites to date, of which 8,600 are active. As with launch, however, there is a wide gulf between SpaceX and the field. This material is solely for educational purposes and is not investment advice or an offer of investment advisory services. However, a16z is not being compensated by SpaceX for this material.

IQT is the not-for-profit strategic investor for the U.S. national security community and America's allies. They fund technologies where performance is mandatory. They don't back companies built to fail. The platform they invested in is the same one delivering packages in Los Angeles. Same battery systems. Same drivetrain. Same clean-sheet chassis. Now configured for defense applications under Harbinger Praesidia. Fleet operators commit to platform partners for 10 years or more. The company vetting suppliers for national security just ran the same evaluation. IQT's answer last week was yes.

Justin Chen Li, CFA liked thisJustin Chen Li, CFA liked thisLet’s go!! Today may mark the beginning of a new era in cancer treatment. Moderna and Merck have reported landmark results from a Phase 3 trial of an individualized mRNA cancer therapy. The study enrolled 1,137 patients with high-risk melanoma following surgery. Intismeran autogene plus KEYTRUDA met both its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint measuring whether the cancer spread elsewhere in the body, with no new safety concerns reported. Each treatment is custom-built from the mutations in a patient’s own tumor—training the immune system to recognize and attack that individual’s cancer. These findings build on an earlier, smaller Phase 2 study showing a 49% reduction in recurrence or death and a 59% reduction in distant metastasis or death at five years. This is a major milestone for patients, personalized medicine, and the promise of mRNA far beyond infectious disease. Congratulations to the patients, researchers, and teams at Moderna and Merck who made it possible.Moderna Shares More Than Double on Success of mRNA Cancer VaccineModerna Shares More Than Double on Success of mRNA Cancer Vaccine

This real-world case from the CLiMB Trial illustrates the importance of detecting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) while lesions are still small. 📍 Clinical Summary Routine HCC surveillance • High-risk patient with cirrhosis • Standard abdominal ultrasound performed • No lesion detected 🩸 HelioLiver® • Blood test returned positive • Follow-up MRI identified an 8 mm hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) • Stage T1, while still within the curative treatment window 📊 Key CLiMB Trial Finding This case illustrates one of the key findings from the CLiMB Trial: • Ultrasound detected 0% of HCC lesions smaller than 2 cm during a single surveillance visit. • HelioLiver® detected 28.6% of HCC lesions smaller than 2 cm, including tumors as small as 8 mm. For patients at high risk of liver cancer, detecting HCC while lesions are still small may provide an opportunity for earlier intervention and potentially curative treatment. Because in liver cancer, every millimeter matters. 📖 Reference CLiMB Trial – A multi-analyte cfDNA-based blood test for early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma. Cboe Global Markets is rolling out an innovative approach to prediction markets. "Today's event contracts only offer two binary outcomes: "yes or no," "all or nothing." Cboe's prediction markets will introduce a third dimension – a new middle ground – enabling customers to engage with defined risk, while gaining the opportunity to earn a partial payout when they are directionally correct, even if the result is not precisely on their target." Polymarket & Kalshi have sprinted to integrate and become part of all retail trading apps and media. The large exchanges are coming and likely bringing a lot of liquidity and ultimately institutional traders.

Yesterday, after 22 development sessions and 9 progressive mint attempts, we minted the first Self-Sovereign Entity Identifier (SEID) on Cardano mainnet. Transaction: 1d6a4590a426321d481a88abb1173c78b6b2170076a395fc7144614c5ef099d0 That's not just a hash. That's the first proof that a cooperative organization can steward its own identity on a public blockchain — without asking permission from a corporation, a government, or a platform. Here's what makes SEID different from every other decentralized identity system I've studied: It's entity-first, not person-first. Most DID systems assume the primary identity holder is a human being. SEID starts with the organization — the DACO (Decentralized Autonomous Cooperative Organization). Our first mint was did:c3:4dtSvpKb3f7K7kckSGSn4mwiks6VULCwyxiHiDn3:@D — the @D means this is a DACO identity, not a person. People come later, by choice, with biometrics they control. It's soulbound. This isn't a tradeable NFT. It's a CIP-68 soulbound token minted via PlutusV3 smart contracts on Cardano. You can't sell your identity. You can't transfer your reputation. Your SEID is yours — permanently linked to your sovereign vault, your credentials, and your cooperative participation history. It uses BLAKE2b-512 hashing with Base58 encoding — and it's quantum-ready now. The identifier itself is derived from cryptographic primitives, not assigned by a registrar. No central authority decides who gets an identity. The math does. While quantum computing threatens the asymmetric cryptography (RSA, elliptic curves) that most identity systems depend on, BLAKE2b-512 maintains 256-bit security even against quantum attacks. Grover's algorithm halves effective hash strength — so our 512-bit output still delivers 256 bits of post-quantum security. Most DID systems will need emergency upgrades when quantum hardware matures. SEID was built for that world from day one. We built this on Cloudflare Workers talking to Cardano via Blaze SDK and Blockfrost — no centralized backend, no database you need to trust. The smart contracts are open, the policy is parameterized, and the reference scripts are deployed as CIP-33 on-chain references. This is Day 1 of a 10-day series on what the C3 Alliance built differently. Tomorrow: why every cooperative eventually fails — and how three-faction governance prevents it. → C3-Alliance.org #C3Alliance #Cardano #SelfSovereign #DID #Web3 #CooperativeEconomics #SEID #PlutusV3 #ForkToFlourish

𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼. Larry Fink (BlackRock, $13.5T AUM) and Brian Armstrong (Coinbase, $500B+ on platform) took the DealBook stage together for the first time. What I heard wasn’t a debate… it was a changing of the guard. My 7 takeaways: 1. Larry Fink in 2017: “Bitcoin = index of money laundering” Larry Fink in 2025: Runs the #1 Bitcoin ETF on the planet. “I have strong views… but I’m willing to be wrong.” 2. Bitcoin isn’t hope — it’s fear insurance Fink: “Traditional assets = betting on 30-year compounding. Bitcoin = owning something when you’re scared of debasement, war, or a broken fiat system.” 3. Sovereigns and endowments are stacking IBIT in the 80s and 90s. That’s not trading. That’s allocating. Tokenization > AI as the real finance story Fink: “Everyone’s obsessed with AI. The bigger revolution is digitizing EVERY asset.” → Instant settlement, zero middlemen, $4.1T in stablecoins turned into rocket fuel for markets. This is T+0 on steroids. Game over for legacy plumbing. 4. 2025 = The year crypto becomes “well-lit” Armstrong: Genius Act passed. Market-structure bill has bipartisan momentum. The offshore leverage circus is about to move back onshore — with guardrails. 5. Banks are fighting in DC while quietly building with Coinbase in the lab Classic Innovator’s Dilemma. The smart ones are already live with stablecoin pilots. 6. Prediction markets are eating traditional media’s lunch Armstrong: “99% of people use Polymarket to figure out what’s actually going to happen — not for alpha, for truth.” (Yes, he still thinks insider trading can be a feature, not a bug, if the goal is better information.) 7. Corporate America is voting with its charter: Texas over Delaware Coinbase is the latest to make the move. Predictable courts + founder-friendly rules win. Bottom line: The fusion of TradFi and DeFi is already here. BlackRock and Coinbase aren’t competing. They’re co-building the next financial operating system. If you’re still watching from the sidelines, 2025 is the year the sidelines disappear. https://lnkd.in/eUNEbTVc

Some very welcome news for VC and PE firms, as well as other entities investing in startup and emerging growth companies. The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has announced the suspension of the implementation and enforcement of the data collection and reporting regime imposed by the Fair Investment Practices by Venture Capital Companies Law (FIPVCC). This decision comes pending the completion of a rule-making process initiated by the DFPI in response to feedback from stakeholders affected by the regime. As a result, the DFPI will not require covered entities to submit further registrations or file reports by the April 1, 2026 deadline. For more information, visit the DFPI website: https://lnkd.in/eqjJbSFz
