Joao S. reposted thisJoao S. reposted thisFraudsters think in networks. Most fraud systems still think in rows and columns. That's the problem. And it's costing the industry far more than I realised. Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud losses are projected to hit $7.6 billion by 2028 across six major real-time payment markets, growing at 17%. False declines, where legitimate transactions get blocked, are costing businesses an estimated $264 billion annually. Nearly five times more than the fraud itself. 35% of shoppers abandon a merchant entirely after a single false decline. 25% of scam victims leave their financial institution. Why? Most fraud detection models were built for a world of batch processing and card payments. They look at individual transactions in isolation. They can't see the relationships between accounts, entities and behaviours that reveal coordinated fraud rings, synthetic identities and money mule networks. Real-time payments changed everything. Transactions settle in seconds and can't be reversed. The old models weren't designed for this. And bolting AI features onto legacy systems isn't going to fix it. What are we doing about it? Thoughtworks has developed a production-grade fraud inference pipeline built on NVIDIA's AI Blueprint for fraud detection. It uses Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) to model relationships, not just transactions. GNNs work as a network intelligence layer that sits on top of existing fraud models. They see what your current systems can't: the connections between actors that make fraud rings visible and legitimate high-velocity customers distinguishable from bad actors. This approach preserves regulatory explainability. In financial services, a model that can't explain its decisions is a model you can't deploy. The pipeline uses SHAP analysis and graph-level attribution so institutions can meet their compliance obligations while dramatically improving detection. This is exactly the kind of work Thoughtworks was built for. Deep engineering on hard problems, in complex regulated environments, with real production constraints. Working pipelines. If you're in financial services and fighting the same battle between catching more fraud and blocking fewer legitimate customers, what do you think? Thank you to the Thoughtworks authors, Nvidia and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for their partnership. Find the full article linked in the comments. Joao S. reposted thisJoao S. reposted thisJust got back from SaaStock USA… and in case you were wondering, it was 🔥No surprise AGENTS were the hot topic. One of the most powerful takeaways came from Nathan Latka, who kept it short and sharp: the SaaS companies that win in 2025–2026 will crush it in these 3 areas: 1. Pricing – Move to usage-based or outcome-based pricing. Make customers feel like they’re only paying when they win. 2. Team – Replace repetitive tasks with AI agents. Start documenting now—your processes are tomorrow’s agents. 3. Distribution > Product – You could build the best thing ever, but if no one sees it, it doesn’t matter. SEO, content, AI search, affiliate…go hard on everything. His question: “Are you selling the whole cow?” Translation: are you squeezing every drop of value from what you’ve already built? And let’s talk about the GOATs I met: • Adam Robinson from RB2B – Grew his LinkedIn with killer content that brings in both new customers and top talent. Content is king but only if it’s authentic!!! • Alina Vandenberghe 🌶️ from Chili Piper – Sharp, focused, and scaling smart with help of AI agents. • Dan Martell from Martell Ventures – Dropped a warning: “It’s 1997 again.” AI is the next internet wave…are we leading or sleeping on it? • Rahul Vohra from Superhuman was revolutionizing productivity before it became a trend. True OG energy. • Jake Dunlap – Called out outdated sales frameworks like MEDIC. It’s a new era: LLM-driven marketing, AI-powered sales, and digital nurturing are the new playbook. Also, big love to Houston startups for showing up strong: UnicornForms, Industrial Data Labs, Scan Ninja Inc, Beebz and UBiosis Health — proud to see H-Town making waves in SaaS 🚀😍 The agent era is already here. Let’s build smart! and… If you’re looking to build AI-powered software solutions at blazing speed, let’s talk. Myself and the team at Honeycomb Software are working on a fresh AI offering and would love to partner with you on the next wave of innovation!

Joao S. liked thisJoao S. liked this💥 Breaking: 21 banks, including Bank of America, Citi and Goldman Sachs, are preparing to launch a consortium stablecoin in 2027👇 According to the WSJ, nearly two dozen financial institutions are joining forces to enter the stablecoin market. The initiative will initially focus on commercial clients, although use cases could vary by region and extend into retail markets. The stablecoin is expected to launch in US dollars before expanding into other G7 currencies. ➡️ Why this matters For banks, stablecoins and tokenized deposits are increasingly looking less like an either/or decision — and more like two complementary forms of digital money serving different markets. Tokenized deposits are gaining traction among large corporates and financial institutions, particularly where clients already operate within established banking relationships and infrastructure. More details here: https://lnkd.in/eQmfTcGZ Stablecoins potentially extend the addressable market much further. They are more accessible to SMEs, fintechs and individuals, can circulate beyond the infrastructure of a single bank, and can plug directly into the rapidly expanding ecosystem of digital-asset wallets, exchanges and onchain applications. That creates a commercial dilemma for banks. Ignore stablecoins, and they risk ceding transaction flows, customer relationships and potentially deposit economics to crypto-native issuers and fintechs. Launch individually, and every bank must solve the same problems around distribution, liquidity, interoperability and network acceptance. A consortium model offers a third route: compete collectively on the money layer, while competing individually for the customers and services built around it. ✅ Want more business intelligence on digital asset? #CoreBanking #ArquitecturaEmpresarial #BIAN

Joao S. liked thisJoao S. liked thisSome of the best career decisions I've ever made looked foolish at the time. Long before I ever carried a sales quota, I was a data architect at JPMorganChase. Early in that chapter of my career, one of my mentors, Dan Lynch, began giving me opportunities to build and improve Shared Services that were provided across the organization. Those opportunities shaped the rest of my career. Before long, a few coworkers started calling me "Mr. Fix-It." If a system was inefficient, I wanted to make it better. If it was a new service, I wanted people to use it and benefit from it. I genuinely enjoyed figuring out how things worked and making life easier for the people who depended on them. I loved taking a messy problem, connecting the dots, and finally seeing the pattern beneath the surface. It was never about proving I was the smartest person in the room. It was about understanding the problem well enough to build something better. Once I understood a system, I started thinking about how to improve it. Looking back, I realize I wasn't just fixing technology. I was learning how organizations change. Technology was simply the mechanism. The real challenge was helping people, teams, and businesses work more effectively. That mindset led me to help build Centers of Excellence in Enterprise Monitoring and Business Intelligence before pulling me into the emerging world of Big Data and Data Science. I spent a decade at JPMorgan Chase solving challenging problems with talented people. I remain proud of what we built together. I loved my time there. Then I made a decision that surprised people. I left JPMorgan Chase to become a Sales Engineer at Cloudera. The question I kept hearing was: "Why would a JPMorgan Chase data architect on the path toward an Executive Director promotion leave to become a Sales Engineer at a startup?" Others were even more direct. "You're crazy!" Maybe they were right. From the outside, it looked like I was walking away from a stable career and a clear promotion path. From my perspective, I was following something that had been pulling at me for years. I've always been a data geek, but I had become fascinated by Big Data and Data Science. I was reading everything I could find, experimenting with new technologies, and thinking about the industry's future. I wanted to learn from the people building it. Joining Cloudera gave me that chance. Just as importantly, I found an incredibly supportive startup culture created by leaders like Mike Olson and Tom Reilly. It was exactly what I needed. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It opened doors I never could have predicted and reinforced a lesson I've carried throughout my career. The best career decisions often begin by paying attention to what genuinely fascinates you. I'm curious. What's a career decision you made that others questioned but turned out to be one of the best decisions of your life? #ArtificialIntelligence #CareerGrowth #Startups #Technology

Got a feeling this one is gonna be greatJoao S. liked thisFrom Uzbekistan to Istanbul, we’re holding onto the momentum of Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum and taking it into the 10th Central Bank Payments Conference. This week, over 40 central banks and 100+ senior payments leaders gather to work through one question: how do payments keep moving in a world that keeps fragmenting? This year's theme, "Payments Without Borders in a Fragmented World," couldn't sit closer to home. It's the exact tension The Klearium Group sets out to solve; de-risking has cut markets off from correspondent banking, and closing that gap requires infrastructure that's both interoperable and provably compliant, not one or the other. We're proud to be a sponsor this year, and looking forward to sitting down with central banks and industry leaders from over 40 countries to talk through what that actually takes.

Two excellent presentations focused cell-based architectures: one discussing the considerations and one by Itau describing the real life experiences with a major platform migration. EON discussed how to protect backups and transform them into a mineable data lake. Another session demonstrated how Q/Kiro, the appropriate MCP servers, and well-written spec files can enable natural language-driven infrastructure deployments.
