Randy Domolky shared thisThis is a response to "How are you using artificial intelligence (AI) at your traditional (i.e. non-software) product company?" It may be typical of what all high-quality companies are doing in 2026. Bottom line: Do not underestimate the power of AI and the size and immediacy of impact that it will have on our future. "We have integrated [COMPANY] OS, HubSpot, Google Workspace, Looker, and Slack into a unified middleware layer enabling Claude to access cross-platform data. As of Q2-2026, >80% of new software code is AI-assisted, and we are rapidly deploying internal tools to drive efficiency, accuracy, and ultimately a better customer experience. Our Product team is also using AI extensively, including with Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, building wireframes and Github pull requests."

Randy Domolky posted thisThis is a great deal when you think about it. We will stock all the food and drinks you might potentially want, keep it hot or cold for you, throw it out when it rots or spills or just begins to look unappealing, and you can come in just about 7x24 and take what you want for just about almost exactly what it costs us to do all that for you. And, if you use a credit card, use any coupons, or are a member of our rewards program, and avoid the pre-cut fruit and vegetables, you get the food and drinks for slightly less than our cost! “Grocery store profit margins are notoriously thin, typically ranging from 1% to 3%, driven by high sales volume, but they vary by store type, with specialty grocers potentially seeing higher profits and big-box stores competing on price. These slim margins mean stores focus on cost control, operational efficiency, and higher-margin categories like prepared foods, personal care, and private labels to boost profitability, while managing challenges like spoilage, inflation, and intense competition.”

Randy Domolky liked thisRandy Domolky liked this"Before I worked in product, I worked RN shifts. When you're carrying one patient too many, something gives. Usually it's the small thing: the subtle patient change you'd have caught on a normal night but miss when you're stretched. A missed early warning can turn into a rapid-response call, a longer stay, or a worse patient outcome. Nobody logs that cost, but it's real. And it traces back to a staffing decision made days earlier, well before anyone scrambled to fill the gap on the floor." —Matt Abbott, Director of Product Management, ShiftMed See what other insights Matt has to share in the comments.

Randy Domolky liked thisRandy Domolky liked thisToday, we released findings from our new intelligence report on the Bank Account Footprint: Closing the Gap Between Real-Time Account Risk and Historical Risk Models. Among the key findings: ❌ 5× higher payment failure rates and 6× higher fraud rates for accounts associated with email addresses first seen within the previous 30 days 🚩 Nearly 11× higher payment failure rates among accounts that failed ownership authentication ⚠️ 76% higher risk for identities connected to five or more bank accounts The findings highlight the value of connecting real-time account signals with historical risk intelligence to help organizations make more informed decisions while reducing unnecessary friction. From AI-powered phishing and business email compromise (BEC) schemes to synthetic identities, first-party fraud, and Nacha's evolving requirements, our panelists shared insights on how organizations can build stronger, more resilient fraud programs. Thanks to our panelists Peter Tapling, Laura Clary, AAP, Matthew Rosebaugh, and Doug Mihalow and attendees for making it a success. Read the key takeaways from the discussion 👇 https://bit.ly/4wQoKOi

Randy Domolky liked thisLooking forward to this conversation with Peter Sloterdyk at GROW NY! The rules of discovery are changing fast. For years, DTC brands could largely buy their way into consideration. AI is changing that equation — and creating a real opportunity for challenger brands to compete on relevance, authority, and customer trust rather than simply the size of their media budgets. Excited to dig into what this shift means for brands like UrbanStems — and how we make sure we’re not just adapting to the next era of discovery, but helping shape it. See you at GROW NY!Randy Domolky liked thisSo much of marketing lives on the internet, and yet somehow the conversations that actually move my thinking happen in person. A human element isn't just a "nice to have" in an AI world, it's required for any of what we do to work. That's why I'm heading to GROW NY: to sit down with Meenakshi Lala, CEO of UrbanStems, and talk about yet another part of our job that exists entirely as zeroes and ones. The DTC discovery playbook has always led with paid and benefitted from organic. But discovery is moving into AI engines, and consumer behavior is changing faster than the playbook. Nearly every channel DTC was built on is some kind of auction, and the brand with more money won. AI search is different: no bid, no budget lever, no arbitrage. Right now, a nine-figure competitor cannot outspend you into the consideration set. That's either the best news a challenger brand has heard in a decade or a serious problem, depending on where you sit. Either way, the window is closing. Our session is called "Your Budget Can't Buy Distribution in AI Search: How Challenger Brands Win the Answer Anyway," and that's exactly what we're going to dig into. If you're headed to Grow, come find me. The IRL conversations are what I value most about these conferences.

Randy Domolky liked thisRandy Domolky liked thisI was having coffee ☕ with two friends last week, one of whom is an artist who believes everyone can create art. I have zero artistic ability, so she pulled out some materials and introduced me to something called Zentangle. 🎨 She walked the three of us through the same little exercise. Four dots in the corners. Connect them with a line. Add some half moon shapes around the edges. Keep going. We all heard the same thing, step by step. The photo is the finished work from the three of us. One of them is mine. What struck me was how different they are. Same exact instructions, three very different outcomes. And then I thought about how much that shows up at work, and how little we really stop to think about it. 💡 We're all in the same meeting, having the same discussion, yet each of us can walk away with a different conclusion. Or a few people write a brief for how to solve x, y, z, and every brief comes out dramatically different. The further I went down that rabbit hole, the more I realized how important this is to be aware of as a leader. Which made me curious how other people deal with it. Would love to hear your thoughts and insights. 👇

I had the pleasure of attending the NACD New England Chapter event on September 17 in Boston, “Leading Minds of Governance & Tech” for Board members. A big thank you to Ellen Richstone and the organizers for putting together such an insightful event. The CEO panel featured incredible perspectives from CEOs like Tamara Lundgren from Radius Recycling, Sean Keohane from Cabot Corporation, Greg Smith from Teradyne, and Gary Cohen from iRobot. The discussions were rich and thought-provoking. Corporations must be nimble and think long term but be prepared to react promptly in a high frequency environment. Routine jobs are at risk. People are excited about Ai to replace someone else’s job. Discussion of "New Collar jobs". As manufacturing jobs try to make a comeback in the US, many of them are going to be New Collar Jobs instead of the traditional blue-collar jobs. US companies will have to be competitive with their cost structure, so the New Collar Jobs will be created in reimagined manufacturing settings. New-collar jobs will require advanced technical and soft skills for emerging tech fields like AI, cloud computing, and data science, but do not always necessitate a four-year degree. These roles combine the hands-on approach of blue-collar work with the higher earning potential and stability of white-collar jobs, emphasizing practical training, apprenticeships, certifications, and continuous upskilling rather than traditional degrees. The concept of new collar jobs, mentioned by the panel, was coined by former IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, based on the rise of new technologies like AI, cloud computing, and data science, which create jobs demanding different skill sets. There was another great panel discussion moderated by Ellen Richstone on the Governance Expert Panel consisting of Robyn Bew Richard J. Bannister, Jr. Elyssa (Emsellem) Kutner and Matt Talcoff Key takeaways from the panel – is your company ready for new international trade; Boards need to be agile to manage the human capital and technology tradeoff. Boards should be prepared to consider more scenarios (short and longer term) to manage their risks. Many institutional investors are getting quiet about what they expect from companies especially in the context of ESG. The 2026 proxy season will be quite different Also a great discussion between Rich Lesser from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Richard Fields from Russell Reynolds Associates. Boards should be factoring Ai, geopolitics and resilience in their discussions. The world is evolving from “Just in Time” to “Just in Case” Four steps for resilience: prepare, absorb, adapt and reimagine.
