Candice Powers shared thisI’m thrilled to officially step into my new role as Chief Growth Officer at Maryland Packaging LTD "PRIVATE LABEL CREATORS". This is an exciting opportunity to lead the charge in transitioning our already incredible offerings from B2B to D2C, building deeper connections with our customers, and delivering exceptional value directly to their tables. A special thank you to Marwan Moheyeldien and the broader team for entrusting me with this next chapter of growth and innovation. I’m eager to work alongside such a talented team to build bold campaigns, connect with our audience in meaningful ways, and redefine what’s possible for our business. There’s so much to look forward to-I can’t wait to share what’s ahead!Candice Powers shared thisWe are thrilled to announce the newest member of our dream team, Candice Powers our new Chief Growth Officer, as we continue to build a powerhouse of talent and leadership within our company. Reflecting on our journey—from starting in the basement of my home to where we are today—fills me with immense joy and pride. Seeing the transformation of our leadership team into a remarkable roster of young female executives is something I could have never envisioned. Under the dynamic leadership of Natasha Wilson our Co-CEO, and Nicole Mohey-el-dien who takes on the role of Director of Quality Assurance and now moving to Co COO, we have cultivated an environment that not only values talent but also champions diversity in leadership. With Candice Powers joining as our Chief Growth Officer and Rina Padilo stepping up as our Operations Manager, complemented by Morgan as our Improvement Officer, and Laura Guarisco our co-founder, we have created a formidable team poised to drive our mission forward. This transition symbolizes a significant shift in our company culture, demonstrating our commitment to empowering women these super humans in leadership roles. I've long believed that women are exceptional leaders: they bring innovative perspectives, collaboration, and resilience to the table. Having this belief reflected in our executive team reinforces the strength of diversity and inclusivity at every level of our organization. As we set our sights on an ambitious goal of reaching $100 million in sales by Q2 2026,Scott Cuviello and I am are confident that this incredible team will lead us to achieve it. Their varied backgrounds and experiences are invaluable assets as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. It is essential for us as a company to continue advocating for women in leadership positions. The benefits are clear: diverse teams drive better decision-making and foster an environment where everyone can thrive. I encourage everyone to reflect on the power of women in business and support the establishment of a new paradigm in leadership. I will be sharing more insights on this journey in my LinkedIn publication, where I will delve deeper into our company’s evolution and the role women play in shaping a brighter future for us all. Together, we are not just building a company; we are redefining what it means to lead. Welcome Candice Powers to our family

Candice Powers reposted thisCandice Powers reposted this"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you." I love this quote because not only is it hilarious, but it's illustrative of an essential sales skill: tell them what you're going to say, say it, then tell them what you just said. Actually, that last part is something my dad, a lifelong consultant taught me. But it rings true in many ways. As a married woman, I LOATHE repeating myself when my husband does that thing men are innately skilled to do, which is fully turn their hearing off when telling him what our weekend plans are only to ask me 5 minutes later what our weekend plans are. But as a professional sales person, I expect to have to repeat myself. Over.. and over.. and over again. It's not because people are bad listeners, necessarily. Or because the way I communicate isn't effective. On the contrary, my communication approach lends itself to the Michael Scott school of "explain it to me like I'm 5." It's because when you're making a purchase of any significance, there's so much information to consider, from the value proposition, to the timing, to competitors, to...idk..."what's that weird sound my car is making?" The reality of a sales process is that it's not always linear or even focused; an effective sales person recognizes that just because they said it on one call or mentioned it in a follow-up email doesn't mean their client committed it to memory. Get comfortable with repeating yourself by finding new ways to make the same, important points stick. Pressure test your client to ensure they're keeping up with you and getting what they need. Hopefully this sticks, but remember, "I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you."

Candice Powers liked thisCandice Powers liked thisYou still use Claude like in 2025. So here's a recap in a single cheat sheet: 1: Claude isn't 1 tool. It's 6. Chat, Projects, Code, Cowork, Skills, Connectors. If you don't code, Cowork should be the go-to one. 2: Pick the model before the prompt. Opus 4.7 = thinking, analyzing, planning. Sonnet 4.6 = grammar, brainstorming, formatting. Haiku 4.6 = bulk tasks at 1M input tokens. 3: Toggle Extended Thinking on Opus. Model selector → Opus 4.7 → Turn on Extended Thinking. Forces an internal monologue. 4: Cowork > Chat for serious work. Desktop + Pro only. Reads your local files. Creates docs. Runs for minutes while you grab coffee. 5: Stop writing 500-word prompts. Write 29 words: "I want to [task] so that [goal]. Read the files first. Ask me questions via AskUserQuestion before executing." 6: Build 3 folders inside Cowork. ABOUT ME/ (identity + rules). TEMPLATES/ (reusable patterns). CLAUDE OUTPUTS/ (deliverables). Your prompts drop to 10 words. 7: Set Global Instructions once. Settings → Cowork → Edit Global Instructions. Prompt: "read ABOUT ME first, save in CLAUDE OUTPUTS, use AskUserQuestion when unclear, don't over-explain." 8: Connectors are free. Turn them on. Slack, Gmail, Drive, Notion, Figma, Granola + 50 others. Claude reads your emails and messages mid-conversation. Zero copy-paste. 9: Force AskUserQuestion in every prompt. Claude stops guessing. It generates a form with clarifying questions. You click. Claude executes. Prompting ends. 10: Install Claude in Excel (3 minutes). Excel → Insert → Get Add-ins → Search "Claude by Anthropic" → Add → Sign in. Ctrl+Option+C to open. It now knows what cell D14 actually contains. 11: Install Plugins from claude .com/plugins. Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Data, Product, Support + more. Each adds skills and slash commands. Type / in the chat to see them. 12: Skills replace your prompt library. Turn repeat workflows into slash commands. Type /negotiation-prep + one line. Claude pulls from Gmail, Slack, Granola. Drafts the email. Done. 13: Context > Prompts. Feed your files, not just prompts. That's the game. Download my own files at how-to-ai.guide. Don't pay anything. Reply to the email to get the link 14: Examples > Prescriptions. Paste 3 posts you wrote. "Write like this." Claude copies voice faster from examples than from 500 words of description. 15: Images = Use ChatGPT Image (with Thinking). Claude doesn't generate realistic images (yet). 16: Real-time search = Use Grok. Connected to X. Covers 99% of what you need. 17: Videos = Use Google Veo-4 Right tool, right job. Stop wasting tokens. ----- To download all of my Claude infographics: Step 1. Go to how-to-ai.guide. Step 2. Subscribe for free. Don't pay anything. Step 3. Open my welcome email (most skip this). Step 4. Hit the automatic reply button inside. Step 5. Download my infographics from my Notion. Bonus. Enjoy my best copy-paste prompts, too.

Candice Powers liked thisCandice Powers liked thisThere is no "one size fits all". I have #clients who tell me they're leaving for the kids. Others who tell me they're staying for the kids. I don't think there's a right or a wrong, there's only a you, your life, and what you choose to do with it. Whether that means getting a #divorce while they're young (and 'resilient'), or waiting until they're out of the house (and less 'dependent') - it's totally your choice and I'm not here to judge either way. I hear both. And I understand both. I see the wisdom in both. The truth is, too, that no two soon-to-be #exhusbands are the same, either. You may not be in the right frame of mind or right place in life to end your #marriage today, and that's okay. Take your time. Try to save it. Do whatever you need to do to know, at the end of the day, you gave it every chance. Leave for the kids, stay for the kids - it's no one's choice but yours.

Candice Powers liked thisCandice Powers liked thisYesterday I had the privilege of sitting as Showcaller — the person responsible for the flow and execution of a live event — while Travis Mills took the stage for his keynote. The room full of first responders welcomed him with a standing ovation before he said a single word. The energy was already there. What happened next was inspiring. With humility and an extraordinary sense of humor, he delivered, the audience hanging on every word. They felt safe to laugh, and grateful to be in the presence of someone who had given (and continues to give) so much in service to his country. For me, a front row seat for a keynote is always an opportunity I’m grateful for. There is always something to learn. Yesterday’s lesson: recounting the past, while important (it’s how you got to today) isn’t meant to be dwelled upon. The goal is always today. Moving forward. The next opportunity. Forget “why did this happen to me” and instead ask “what can I do now.” Thank you for the reminder, Travis! Should you have a family member or friend who is a veteran or first responder living with PTSD, consider Travis’ foundation which is a no-cost retreat for post traumatic growth in the face of post traumatic stress. https://lnkd.in/eH7NeU8h

Candice Powers liked thisCandice Powers liked thisThis is a pretty big ick for me. #Childsupport is for the kids. So, not "putting him on" child support doesn't give you special status, it just means that you've deprived your #children of the best that both you and their #dad can provide. Are there reasons you might choose NOT to pursue child support? Yes - especially if you know or suspect that, if you do, he'll get involved - not because he wants to spend time with the child but because he wants to reduce his support obligation. If it's driven not by a desire to #parent but by a desire to pay less, well, I can see wanting to not file for child support. But simply going without child support doesn't make you better or worse than other #moms. And, really, ranking us? Extra ick. We're all doing the best we can in the imperfect situation in which we exist - and we're doing it for the kids. And that's all anybody can do.

Candice Powers liked thisCandice Powers liked thisI'm 40 today, which is a little hard to believe. When I started practicing #familylaw, fresh out of #lawschool, over fourteen years ago (!!!), people asked me all the time how old I was. At the time, I was embarrassed. I was young; it was obvious. I didn't even have kids yet. And, I'm sorry - this is another post for another day, but - can you REALLY even be a #custody lawyer without kids? Today, fourteen years later, I'm here to tell you absolutely no way. But then? Then I was young. I've learned a lot. Some of it good. Some of it really, really overwhelmingly hard. Because the reality is that a career in #divorce and custody law is difficult. Literally everyone you talk to, every single day, is in the throes of a crisis. Compassion fatigue isn't something that I struggle with, personally, but I do have a lot of vicarious #trauma from the constant, overwhelming, difficult, impossible situations. It's why I started this page, now almost three years ago. At first, the page - and, actually, my entire career - were in response to a #family situation I was going through. Ironically, a very damaging #relationship with a #woman who married into my family launched me into, somehow, a woman-only advocate. (She, needless to say, is not a woman I would represent.) Now, though, it's bigger. It's for the protective moms. The SAHMs. The women who signed #prenuptial agreements and find themselves totally screwed. The DV victims. The ones experiencing post-separation abuse. The betrayed ones. The terrified ones. Today, all these years later, the work feels even more valid than ever. Older and wiser, as they say. This year, at 40, and hopefully every year after. Because who knows what will happen?

Candice Powers liked thisCandice Powers liked thisIsn't this always the way, though? THEY walk out, and then they suddenly start demanding things and painting YOU like the bad guy. Like, sir, what....? So, the thing is that, unless and until you have either a signed custody agreement or an order issued by the court, you both have custody of the kid(s). You could tell him no, but he has equal rights to do something insane - like randomly pick your kid up from daycare and withhold him from you. Even though he's the one who walked out, I don't recommend that you behave as though you're totally withholding the kid - but neither do I think that you should feel like you have to follow his playbook play-by-play. You can make suggestions or offer alternatives to things that you don't think are appropriate. (Like, for example, an overnight when he's only crashing on his buddy's couch.) Since he's refusing talking about a temporary parenting plan, you're probably going to have to work on a case-by-case basis: yes, we can meet you at the park, no, we're not going to do dinner with you, your new girlfriend, and her three (darling, charming!) children. Ideally, communicate in writing - text or email is fine - so that you could show a court, if push came to shove, that you did not withhold the child, that he had options, and, if he chose not to exercise them, that it is squarely his responsibility. Unless and until he files something and has it served on you, though, I think it's probably safe to say that he's blowing smoke. Trust me, girlfriend - they do it all the time.

Candice Powers liked thisAfter closing a transformational run at Infocepts and much needed 6 month reset for time with family, advisory work, and some football coaching, I’m excited to share that I’ve joined SunnyData as Chief Revenue Officer. Over the last few months, as I considered what I wanted next, I kept coming back to the same filter: the team and leaders I worked with would be the #1 criteria. Very quickly, it became clear that SunnyData is an exceptionally strong team at every level - Brock N., Kailash ( Kai) Thapa, Jeronimo Acosta, Santiago Carrera, Joseph Lammers - aligned, authentic & genuinely committed to building something that lasts. …and as I spent more time within the Databricks ecosystem, I saw firsthand how beloved the SunnyData brand is across the community. I’m grateful for the people who were part of this journey - the family, friends, former colleagues, recruiters, and the VC talent teams who pushed me, challenged me, and opened the right doors along the way. The opportunity in front of us is seismic, and I’m excited to build the foundation that enables AI to drive real business value.Candice Powers liked thisBig news! "Patrick’s arrival marks a pivotal milestone in SunnyData’s growth and maturity, positioning us to capture growing customer demand and accelerate our Databricks-driven strategy." Candice Powers reacted on thisCandice Powers reacted on thisThis is the last time I will ever post on LinkedIn. Twenty years ago, I was the main character. I wasn't just at The Breakers in Palm Beach; I was part of its gilded tapestry. Escaping the northern winter for my wife’s health and the vibrant polo season (a season I once commuted cross-country for, like a dignified, horse-riding boomerang), I was stopped by a group of wide-eyed children. "Are you George Clooney?" they whispered. I didn't correct them. Why would I? I practiced my slow smile, my thoughtful gaze. I was the Silver Fox of Florida, less "Ocean's Eleven" and more "Ocean's Eleven Thousand Gallons of Humility Coming My Way." Then, five months ago, the universe decided I needed a reality check, served with a side of hash browns. I pulled up to a McDonald’s drive-thru on a Saturday morning. The teenager at the window—a boy clearly unacquainted with the finer points of 90s heartthrobs or basic human kindness—stared at me with the intensity of a forensic artist. "Can I ask you a question?" he whispered, tilting his head. "Are you Mr. Bean?" My soul performed an Olympic-level dismount from my body. In two decades, I had transitioned from a suave international heartthrob to a man who, apparently, looks like he gets his head stuck in a holiday turkey. My children, sensing my impending "Bean-ification" was reaching critical mass, gifted me a day at a high-end medical spa. Their mission: to fix my "Old Man Frown" and replace the bone mass that had apparently filed for divorce from my face. It was a scene. I was the lone "Old Crow" in a flock of beautiful swans. While they were getting glow-ups, I was getting needles in my face and a manicure I was too intimidated to refuse. The only thing missing was a rubber chicken. I’ve had to accept that my "Extreme Era" has pivoted: • The Skydiving Days: Now replaced by "trying to put on socks without sitting down" (a high-stakes maneuver). • The Motorcycle Track Days: Now evolved into "Illegal Wheelchair Drag Racing" through the grocery store aisles. • The Polo Season: Now strictly "Full-Contact Croquet" with people who have better health insurance than I do. • The Car Racing: Now limited to "Seeing how far I can drive after the 'Low Fuel' light comes on" (the true test of nerve). • The Water Skiing: Now just "carefully navigating a wet bathroom floor." I'm attaching a photo so you can see the results of the spa. I've officially moved the needle. I'm no longer George Clooney, but thanks to a little filler and a lot of self-deprecating humor, I've upgraded to a slightly more refreshed, "Expensive" Mr. Bean. The goal was Clooney; the reality is an older Mr. Bean, but one who smells faintly of lavender and hyaluronic acid. And yes, for those wondering, my head still feels like it could get stuck in a turkey. Relax, everyone. I meant this is the last time I’m posting for this year. I’m going back to the spa to see if they can turn me into a Brad Pitt by February. See you in 2026.
