Meghan Gill shared thisPeople often say they are “humbled” on LinkedIn when they get a promotion or win an award. Here are a few truly humbling stories from my experience making the transition from marketing to RevOps, at the same time I became a mom. Cute pic of my now eight year old for attention. https://lnkd.in/gAWK9Rjr

Meghan Gill reposted thisMeghan Gill reposted thisNothing about early-stage sales is scalable. It's just you. That was Meghan Gill's message to this year's Summer Launchpad cohort, drawing on 15 years taking MongoDB from pre-revenue to a $2B company. Her playbook: warm intros over cold outreach, reframe first touches as curiosity, and expect 9-10 touches before a response. No champion, no deal. Meghan Gill posted thisIs "marketing engineer" a real job? In the long-term, my predication is that AI skills won’t stay concentrated in one headcount line; it’ll diffuse into every job description. (Nick Lafferty, feel free to debate 🙂 ) As Matt Heinz pointed out in his article "I Was Told BDRs Would Be Extinct By Now," AI hasn't killed that role but rather changed what BDRs do. It should be the same in marketing. Links to both my article as well as Matt's in the comments.

Meghan Gill reposted thisMeghan Gill reposted thisFounder friends, which of these siren songs have called your name? 1. Hiring a marketer to solve a product problem. Marketing can't fix a product that isn't working. Before you hire a marketer you need a clear sense of who's actually buying. 2. Delegating the product position work. A marketer can shape and pressure-test your story, but they can't invent it. Stay close and give your marketer ongoing access to you, to customers, and to feedback from sales. 3. Hiring for where someone worked, not what they built. Big-company marketers often inherited strong programs and scaled them, which is a very different skill than building from zero. Ask them to walk you through something they built from scratch 4. Hiring the wrong profile. Demand gen and product marketing are not the same job. Figure out what's blocking you, awareness or clarity, and *then* hire for that specifically. 5. Overcomplicating analytics. Sophisticated infrastructure takes time to build and maintain before you have enough signal to need it. Start with GA4, Search Console, and a self-reported attribution field on your demo form. 6. Hiring a VP when you need an IC. A VP will write strategy documents when you need someone shipping work. Look for a strong IC with enough experience to own strategy and enough hunger to execute it personally. 7. Using AI to rebuild tools that already exist. Off-the-shelf tools work fine and building custom infrastructure burns engineering cycles you can't afford. Use AI to automate the toil around your existing stack, not to replace it. Last month, Meghan Gill and I led a session for founders at the Base10 Partners office in SF. We talked about all of those mistakes. Each one is totally understandable, potentially disastrous, and easily avoidable. And, because we hope that no founder ever makes any of them ever again, we wrote this article, based on that talk. https://lnkd.in/gppR9vXW Enjoy.

Meghan Gill shared thisThis should be a good one!Meghan Gill shared thisOUT NOW!! What does it really take to scale a software company from $35M to $2B ARR? In this episode Hunters and Unicorns hosts, Simon Kouttis and Ollie Kuehne sit down with Daniel Barrett, SVP International at Figma and former MongoDB leader, to unpack the lessons behind one of SaaS's most remarkable growth stories. Dan shares why he hates the word "playbook," how MongoDB evolved through multiple sales transformations, and why the best leaders focus on developing people, not following a rigid process. The conversation explores authenticity in leadership, building high-performance teams, scaling PLG and enterprise sales motions, customer success, AI's impact on software sales, and the leadership lessons that helped Dan grow from a first-time manager into one of the industry's most respected sales leaders. Meghan Gill shared thisTL;DR, below are the failure modes for your first marketing hire. Full article here:https://lnkd.in/gjNpJabs 1. Hiring a marketer to solve a product problem 2. Hiring the wrong profile (demand gen & product marketing are very different!) 3. Hiring a VP when you need an IC 4. Being excited about big brands on a candidate’s resume 5. Delegating positioning instead of partnering on it 6. Using AI to reinvent the wheel 7. Skipping the work product in the interview 8. Overcomplicating the analytics stackMeghan Gill shared thisIf your product doesn't clearly solve a real problem, marketing will struggle regardless of who you hire or when. Good marketing accelerates a product that's working. It rarely rescues one that isn't. A surprising number of founders hire a marketer when what they're actually trying to solve is: why isn't anyone buying this? That's a product question. A marketer can help you talk about what you've built. They can't fix what you've built. Our Venture Partner, Meghan Gill, and Justin Dunham covered this and 7 more failure modes at our founder breakfast in SF last week. Full read in the comments.

Meghan Gill liked thisMeghan Gill liked thisFor anyone working at a consumption-based SaaS company, you know forecasting can be a real challenge. Usage changes every day, signals are scattered across systems, and getting to one reliable number takes more than a model — it requires teams to align on the right inputs, assumptions, and decisions. After a two-year journey of hard work, learning, and iteration, I’m proud to share that we’ve built our own in-house consumption forecasting tool at MongoDB. It gives our teams a collaborative workspace to work through the forecast together and converge on a number. It also embeds machine learning models directly into the process, helping teams spend less time gathering and processing data, and more time applying judgment where it matters most. This has been a true team effort. Huge thanks to everyone who has helped build, test, challenge, iterate, and bring this to life. Turning a complex forecasting problem into a tool that teams can use every day takes an incredible amount of craft, persistence, and collaboration. Excited for what comes next! Meghan Gill liked thisMeghan Gill liked thisI’ve got some news: I have made the choice to move on from my VP of Developer Relations role at IBM, and I’m taking some time to explore what I want to build next. In the immediate term, that’s a house (see picture). But thinking longer-term, if you're building something that helps developers navigate the AI frontier, directly or indirectly, hit me up. There are a lot of things to build, and a lot of ladders to climb to build them. Talk to me if you need a DevRel team at the center of it all.

Meghan Gill liked thisFour years ago, we set out to help teams work better on distributed systems. Today, I couldn't be prouder to share where that journey lead: Multiplayer is joining FilingRamp! 🎉 Along the way we grew to thousands of users and open-sourced our AI debugging agent, but the thing that worked best of all was building alongside the FilingRamp team. Their deep insurance expertise plus our AI experience adds up to features the InsurTech space genuinely needs and doesn't have yet. Somewhere in those years of building together, it became obvious how well our two teams fit. So this feels like a natural next step. To our early believers, our investors, our incredible teammates, and my co-founder Thomas Johnson, thank you. None of this happens without you. 💜 The best is ahead for this team, and I'll be cheering them on every step of the way.Meghan Gill liked thisBig news for FilingRamp: we’re acquiring Multiplayer. Multiplayer has been part of the FilingRamp story for a while now — first as a technology partner, then as a team helping us push the boundaries of what AI can do inside our platform. Now, we’re bringing the teams together. The acquisition adds exceptional AI and engineering talent to FilingRamp and accelerates what we’re building across Ramp AI, agentic workflows, real-time collaboration, data analytics, and the FilingRamp Sandbox. Two teams. A shared vision. And a lot more to come. Read the full story from FilingRamp CEO Jeremy Battles 👇 https://lnkd.in/gSheBgsa

In GTM, 2025 was the year of Clay. Clay helped revenue teams automate a large part of manual work: • data enrichment (accounts, contacts, signals) • basic personalization at scale • outbound workflows and sequencing It made automation practical and accessible. Less manual ops. Less spreadsheets. Less copy-paste. But automation is still not autonomy. As we move into 2026, the shift is becoming clear. We’re moving from the Clay era into the Claude (agentic) era. This is no longer about running predefined workflows. It’s about cloud-based autonomous AI agents that can: • own concrete problems end-to-end • compound context over time • coordinate sub-tasks • and improve execution without constant human input For GTM and revenue leaders, the role changes again. From choosing tools…to deciding what work should never be done by humans again — and what must stay human. Clay automated work. Claude pushes us toward delegating work. Question: what part of your GTM or revenue motion would you trust an autonomous AI agent with in 2026 — and where would you still keep a human in the loop.

I love the question this article leads with: Why not just connect a general-purpose LLM to your own company’s data sources and call it a day? The answer is multi-fold, and we came up with a framework to ensure quality -- more on that here! CC: Andy Almonte https://lnkd.in/gqCgKc7s

I rarely make predictions, but... No company founded after 2026 will organically grow to more than 10k FTEs. The leverage of rapid iterative decision loops by teams using best-in-class AI has reached escape velocity over traditional economies of scale.

Aaron Levie read our context graphs thesis and had plenty to say, so Jaya Gupta and I invited him back on the pod to continue the conversation. He shares where incumbents are stronger than we suggested, how agents expand the market for software well beyond IT spend, and what it takes to move them out of the sandbox and into production. Thanks to Aaron for joining us, and for engaging with our p.o.v. so thoughtfully. Full episode here: https://lnkd.in/g3J8ZU8A

We're entering the Claude Code era of GTM. The game is shifting from executing tasks manually to engineering context that guides autonomous agents. I just broke down Jordan Crawford's insights on how Plan Mode and Sub-Agents are transforming GTM decision-making: The shift: → From tribal knowledge scattered in docs to engineered, reusable frameworks → From 90-day ramps to instant context access for new hires → From one-off automations to recursive, self-improving workflows The opportunity for GTM Engineers: Each sales call, win/loss, and customer interaction now compounds into your GTM intelligence. Your battlecards auto-update. Your ICP sharpens with every conversation. Your competitive intel stays fresh without manual work. The CROs winning in 2026 aren't asking "How do I automate this task?" They're asking: "How do I architect the context and frameworks that let agents make decisions at scale?" Your competitive edge is no longer execution speed—it's context engineering. #GTM #claudecode

At Moonfire, we backed Anders Krohn because of his rare combination of grit, clarity, and relentless pace. When he started Kernel, Anders set out to build an AI SDR. But instead of forcing the idea, he recognised the deeper truth: AI can’t fix broken data. CRMs were full of duplicates, missing hierarchies, and inconsistencies; the foundation itself was flawed. Anders had the conviction to pivot fast and the vision to go deeper, building an AI-native alternative to Dun & Bradstreet that restores confidence in enterprise data. In just three years, Kernel has become trusted by RevOps teams at Gong, Navan, Zip, Remote, and GoCardless — and has now raised $14M, with a $9M Series A led by Kinnevik following our seed investment. Anders exemplifies the kind of founder we look for: fast-moving, deeply technical, and obsessed with solving a real, painful problem with clarity and purpose.

Seth Levine nailed it! The concentration problem isn't just a GP pain point... it's choking innovation. When capital pools around the same 20 funds, emerging managers and founders get shut out. Love that he's using his platform to call this out. Foundry has backed 50+ emerging managers. That's the diversification the ecosystem needs. This is exactly why Carta exists — making capital allocation visible and accessible. Capital Evolution hits at exactly the right moment. Thanks for having us Daniel Dart. Team Carta loves the community of FUTURE TITANS you have built 🚀
