Luis brings more than two decades of experience in applied mathematics and plasma physics from Los Alamos National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research has advanced the fields of basic plasma science, magnetic confinement fusion, and inertial confinement fusion, and he is widely recognized for developing breakthrough algorithms that have helped shape modern fusion plasma simulation. MPDs inject plasma to kickstart fusion processes or supply plasma to conduct prototype testing. Scientists, engineers, and operators take ideas like this from paper to hardware so that we can analyze real data and compare to simulations. Since joining in July 2024, we've hit unbelievable milestones: finishing the Polaris build, Polaris operations, DT testing, hitting 150 MºC, permitting and beginning construction for Orion, opening our capacitor manufacturing facility, and raising two massive funding rounds. Every day brings progress towards fusion on the grid and it's a privilege to witness it first-hand.

Mario Tello liked thisMario Tello liked thisAs of this week, I'm officially stepping into my next chapter as a Fractional Experiential Marketing Lead & Consultant. After 12+ years in the industry working on every kind of activation under the sun at companies like Square and OpenTable, I'm going independent — helping brands build standout event marketing programs with the added ease of flexibility (whether that be one off consultation, project based work or ongoing part-time support). I’m excited for my first project. I will be working with Faire over the next 6 months, stepping in to lead their North America event marketing program. When we first opened my wine bar in 2024, we won the Shop Starter social media contest run by Faire. They helped us stock our shelves in such a critical time before opening day, so this truly feels full circle. After that wraps in February, I'll be opening up availability for new projects.
