Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisBeen working on a fun side project: a premium digital card for events like weddings and baby showers using an AI-generated image as the centerpiece of the experience. My sister recently got married and I built one out, with the wow factor being an AI generated image that's a part of the card experience. Still very much a WIP, but if you're interested in getting a free card, happy to make a few for folks in my network. (AI image gen isn't free, so I can't do it for everyone but reach out!) Would love feedback in return. Some things I want to iron out - The card animation isn't great, this is the hardest part to vibecode - I'm certain there's a lot more I can do to improve the AI videos and make them look even better - I'm really interested in animated pictures of the couples as a part of the card, it came out uncanny when I did it the first time If anyone knows motion / animation design, would love to jam!

Turns out, it was one of the best decisions! Building Strawberry is the most exciting work of my career yet. The team, product, and amazing customers get me fired up every day. Many customers have been rightfully skeptical of AI tools that promise the world but don’t deliver. I love seeing them light up when they try Strawberry and FINALLY feel that they have a product that “just works” and meets them where they are. A browser is the best place to work with state-of-the-art AI agents for most of us, because 1. You don’t need to learn a new tool: we already spend most of our day in a browser. 2. Agents need context and tools to get real work done. The browser has both. Working with agents doesn’t have to feel daunting. Just hop into Strawberry and ask your agent how it can help you out. Big things coming later this summer so stay tuned ☀️

Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisSince everyone's throwing out predictions, here's mine: 2026 is the year we'll see "Compute Allocator" as a role We're already seeing insane levels of token spend per eng at the frontier. Boris Cherny mentioned on Lenny Rachitsky's podcast that the team is seeing some eng spend $100K+/month on tokens. This tracks with what we're seeing at Augment. Our top users across self-serve and enterprise are continually spending more MoM. And it's only going to grow as engineers manage more agents with more powerful models. Here's how I see it playing out: - Cutting-edge AI companies won't limit it at all. Frontier model access becomes a perk. E.g. Anthropic, Augment, Cursor, OpenAI, etc. - Companies adopting AI will start setting spend limits. The smart ones will allocate more to their top performers. - Big tech gives everyone the same limits first, figures it out later. - This starts showing up in VC rounds. You're not just budgeting for eng comp anymore, you're budgeting for eng comp + token cost. As engineers prove output, they'll get more tokens. Which probably also means higher pay. Cost of eng talent over the next 1-2 years is going to keep shooting up. If you thought cost of eng talent was insane in 2025, buckle up for an insane year

In that time, I exited a startup, then built and led a large org after the acq. I also became a dad, picked up surfing, spent a lot of time with family and friends, and did a lot of life maxxing 😀 It was fun. Before that, I spent a decade in the Bay Area and had the best career oppts here. I like doing things in seasons, and it feels like a new one is starting. Time to shift more of my energy toward work :) I spent the last year exploring, building and testing a bunch of products, and following my curiosity. I learned a ton. Now I will narrow the focus and go much deeper. I’m meeting as many founders and builders as I can, working out of friends' startups, hacker houses, coworking spaces, and spending time with people building ambitious things. If that's also you, let's meet :) Really excited to be back! Time to lean in 😀

Mahmoud Alzaghari liked thisMahmoud Alzaghari liked thisOver the past two months, we built out Caddy's identity and brand with Jess Walker and Hannah Swann from Family Style. When we started, Connor Waslo and I were pretty skeptical about working with external partners. Caddy (YC F25) has lived in our heads for so long that we we weren't sure someone would be able to tell our story authentically. We knew we wanted Caddy to feel unpretentious, inviting, and real. We just had no idea how to externalize that, let alone turn it into a visual identity. Jess and Hannah somehow became part translators and part coaches. They pulled ideas out of us and team that we hadn’t been able to articulate ourselves. More importantly, they challenged us to push those ideas further while keeping them grounded in the company we’re actually building. The result is an identity that helps us tell Caddy’s story to the world, but also gives us a clearer north star internally. Most importantly, it's something we’re proud to share with our friends, family, and the world. Very excited for Caddy to be out in the world. Go create yours :)

Early traction can be a trap. Ibby Syed's first product hit $150K ARR. Investors would call that progress. But something was wrong. Customers weren't using the product. They were using his team. Every question meant a call. Every answer meant more consulting work. He'd found a "local maxima"—success that felt real but wasn't scalable. The hardest part? Letting go. Firing customers. Telling investors the pivot was necessary despite "working" revenue. Most founders can't do it. The sunk cost is too painful. Ibby did. His co-founder's 100-line prototype became the foundation for a 7-figure AI platform. The lesson: Early revenue that doesn't compound isn't traction.
