Chris Ladd reposted thisChris Ladd reposted thisHope Rocks! https://lnkd.in/gAzgGA4W Tiny link for word of mouth sharing: http://tiny.cc/hope26 This year's BSides theme is musicals. So naturally, I stayed up the night before from midnight to 2 and made one. I really like how it came out and think you will too! Hope vs. Anon - a 12-track cybersecurity musical album inspired by the talk I'm presenting tomorrow. It tells the story of a junior security engineer named Hope on her first Friday night on the job. The office is empty. A massive credential stuffing attack hits. Nobody picks up the phone. She's on her own. What follows is a hero's journey through something so many of us have lived but rarely talk about - that moment when the alerts are screaming, you're not sure you're ready, and you have to figure it out anyway. It's about imposter syndrome, about breaking things and owning it, about finding unexpected partners - including AI. It's about earning your seat at the table. 12 tracks. Broadway rap, gospel house, Afrobeat, electro-pop, soul ballads, dark glitch electronic. The attacker gets their own song. There are duets with an AI mentor. There's a bass drop that'll rearrange your priorities. I'm putting flyers up around BSides today. Tell me your favorite track. And if you're here - my talk is Sunday March 22nd at 11:15 - Noon at the AMC IMAX. Come check it out - https://sched.co/2E1gj And get some cool swag - https://lnkd.in/gDTTZAxh

Chris Ladd reposted thisChris Ladd reposted thisI'm living in insurance hell!!! 1) I am a Stage 4 Lung Cancer patient and advocate. 2) As a medical school Clinical Professor, I taught a class at Stanford anchored around my own case which was covered widely in the The New York Times, CBS Mornings, and other media outlets. At least I could turn my misfortune into a little bit of good. 3) Thanks to amazing advances in treatment with Tagrisso (osimertinib - AstraZeneca), I have survived progression free until a couple of weeks ago when my cough came back and the CT scan showed spreading cancer in my chest. I urgently need new treatment as my symptoms have all worsened. 4) *AETNA* just denied "prior authorization" for potentially life-saving/life-prolonging treatment with Rybrevant (amivantamab - Johnson & Johnson). This is an FDA approved therapy for my specific cancer prescribed by one of the leading thoracic oncologists in the world! 5) If my appeal is denied, what is going to happen to me? No need to repost/forward - see update below. Please repost and forward this message on any platform as widely as possible so I can get some insurance relief. In my 20 years as a primary care doctor, insurance has corroded doctors' abilities to treat patients as human beings. Stanford University School of Medicine Stanford University --------------- *Update* Aetna, a CVS Health Company reversed their denials (1x denial for amivantamab and 2x denial for lazertinib)!!! Thanks for the support, reposts, and comments from the awesome LinkedIn community. Special thanks to Warris B. For working late on an appeal letter. We need to fix the system and get rid of prior authorizations which have corroded the ability of providers to get patients the treatment they need.

Chris Ladd liked thisOver the past few months, I've continued volunteering my time to Patty's Parrot Palace (PPP), a 501(c)(3) parrot rescue and sanctuary in DeLand, FL. With a costly web hosting bill on the horizon, I set out to find a better path - one that would drastically cut expenses, boost performance, and free up resources for what matters most at PPP: "Putting the bird first." Since becoming their technology advisor over six years ago, I've seen firsthand how running a modern nonprofit requires enterprise-grade tools - yet those tools come with enterprise-grade price tags that small non-profits like PPP simply can't justify when every dollar should go toward animal care. That's where these companies recently stepped in with their nonprofit programs: ✨ TechSoup - the entry point that opened doors to so many tools ✨ Goodstack - making nonprofit verification fast and reliable ✨ Amazon Web Services (AWS) - cloud credits that powered our migration to scalable, secure infrastructure ✨ Google for Nonprofits - collaboration and productivity at no cost ✨ Canva for Nonprofits - design tools that help us tell our story ✨ Anthropic (Claude) - AI that's been an invaluable thought partner on every project ✨ Cursor - accelerating development work that keeps our website running smoothly A special thank you to CrowdStrike, my employer, for providing volunteer hours that allowed me to be onsite at the sanctuary for the final touches - and for fostering a culture where giving back is celebrated. As part of that visit, I was also able to donate a new Apple MacBook Air to PPP, giving Trish a reliable, modern device to manage the organization's operations going forward. These programs and policies are more than just discounts or perks. They're a recognition that mission-driven organizations deserve the same caliber of tools as Fortune 500 companies - and when we have them, the impact compounds. To every team at these companies: thank you for choosing to give back. You're not just supporting one nonprofit; you're enabling thousands of small organizations to focus on what they do best. #NonprofitTech #501c3 #TechForGood #AnimalRescue #VolunteerWork #ParrotPalace #CrowdStrikeCares #GiveBack

Chris Ladd liked thisChris Ladd liked thisA few weeks ago, I turned five job descriptions into a market thesis. The roles had different titles: Head of Web. Director of Web. Marketing Engineer. Lead Web Developer. These companies were all trying to solve the same problem: modernizing the marketing website for the AI era and finding someone capable of owning it as a business system. That observation became the foundation for everything I've been building over the last few weeks. First, I leveraged AI to define the services, philosophy, and positioning to serve this market. Then again used AI to build the brand system, design system, messaging, content architecture, and website itself. Today, the first version is live: https://lnkd.in/eDAkb3SG The core idea behind the site is simple: The strongest marketing websites aren't collections of pages. They're operating systems that connect brand, content, technology, and measurement into a single system. As AI continues to reduce the cost of implementation, the advantage shifts toward organizations with the clearest strategy, strongest judgment, and best systems. If AI is driving down the cost of implementation, what becomes the scarce resource? And if your organization is navigating a website transformation, evaluating AI-enabled workflows, or looking to modernize how marketing, content, and technology work together, I'd welcome the conversation. If someone in your network is facing those challenges, I'd appreciate an introduction.

Chris Ladd liked thisChris Ladd liked thisA few days ago, I posted about how the "Agentic Web" requires compute and state to live at the edge, right next to the user. Yesterday, Cloudflare connected the dots. 💥 Following our acquisition of the Astro framework team earlier this year, Cloudflare has officially acquired VoidZero. This strategy shows exactly why we are leaving traditional "security-only" vendors in the rearview mirror. Legacy vendors treat security like a fence around a house someone else built, adding cost, latency, and friction. Cloudflare lets you build and run your applications inside the secure perimeter itself. For enterprises, the math behind this strategy breaks down into three undeniable economic drivers: 💰 The Math Behind the Value: - Conversion Optimization (The Astro Effect): Google's data shows a 1-second delay in page load times drops mobile conversions by up to 20%. Astro’s "Zero JS" architecture slashes client-side code loads. By pairing Astro with our global edge network, we help enterprises capture lost revenue by pushing core web vital pass rates from the industry average of 20% up to over 50%. - Developer Velocity & CI/CD Savings (The VoidZero Effect): The traditional JavaScript build pipeline slows down massive corporate sites to minutes or hours per deployment. VoidZero’s Rust-based tools (powering Vite) shrink build fatigue down to sub-seconds. Multiply thousands of daily developer builds by that time savings, and you reclaim millions in wasted engineering hours annually. - TCO Reduction (Ditching Security-Only Vendors): Managing separate vendors for application hosting, CI/CD toolchains, and standalone enterprise firewalls creates a massive vendor tax. Consolidating the build engine (VoidZero), the framework (Astro), and the global runtime into a unified Cloudflare connectivity cloud drastically drops Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while eliminating integration friction. Bottomline: Cloudflare is building the high-performance infrastructure that dictates how the modern enterprise operates. #Cloudflare #Astro #VoidZero #DevOps #ROI #EnterpriseTech

By streaming 100% of their edge logs, Foursquare gained deeper visibility into performance, faster issue detection, and eliminated the need to maintain homegrown logging tools—helping their teams focus on delivering reliable experiences for customers worldwide. A great example of how developer-first infrastructure and edge observability can drive operational efficiency and business impact. Check out the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gKnFRfse

Okta’s Axiom Acquisition: The Missing Piece of the IAM Puzzle? Okta’s recent acquisition of Axiom Security is a powerful move to enhance their Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities. By creating a single control plane for privileged access, they're taking a huge step toward securing on-premise, multi-cloud, and modern infrastructure. But a critical question remains: What about IAM Resilience? While PAM focuses on preventing breaches, our blog explains why a comprehensive strategy must also include a plan for rapid recovery from failures like misconfigurations and ransomware attacks. Discover why you need both PAM and IAM Resilience to build a truly robust security posture.
