Our new 2026 Higher Education Third-Party Cyber Risk Report analyzed 515 US universities, 105,000+ vendor relationships, and ~5,400 unique suppliers. → 28% of the top 100 university vendors have been breached since 2024 → 11% currently show active infostealer malware → 95% of universities have at least one vendor with embedded AI exposure → 80% of institutions share the same 11 vendors (including 97.4% running at least one Microsoft product) Point-in-time reviews alone leave a widening visibility gap. I spent 10 weeks this summer externing with the Office of Metro Attorney at Metro, the regional government for the Portland region — with a little time for some R&R afterward too! At Metro, I had the chance to work on everything from litigation and labor and employment to land use, procurement, and other issues that come with representing a regional government. A highlight was taking a couple of work trips to the Oregon Zoo, which Metro operates! I learned a ton and really enjoyed getting hands-on experience with such a wide range of legal work. A big thank you to my awesome supervisor Rebecca C. Guiao, my fellow law clerk Nayely Interian, and the entire OMA team for making it such a great summer. I’m also excited to share that next summer I’ll be joining Fisher Phillips in Portland as a 2027 Summer Associate! I’m looking forward to continuing to build my experience in labor and employment law and joining the team after such a great interview process. Now, back to Lewis & Clark for my 2L year while continuing to work to make West Linn a safe and livable city! #FisherPhillips #Summer2027

We covered everything from how I found my way into my role, what the day-to-day looks like, and the moments that have shaped how I think about work, growth, and building a career with intention. If you only take away three things from our conversation, I hope they’re these: - Careers rarely move in a straight line. Some of the most meaningful opportunities come from staying open, asking good questions, and being willing to follow your curiosity before you have the whole path mapped out. - The people around you shape the experience. Managers, teammates, mentors, and peers can all change the way you see yourself and what you believe you’re capable of. I’m grateful for the people who have challenged me, supported me, and helped me grow. - Your brand is the impression you leave behind. Titles and roles are one part of the story, but what people remember is how you show up, how you make them feel, and the consistency you bring to every interaction.
