Kicking off our Employee Spotlight Series: meet Iván Aristy 👋 Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Intenseye, based out of our NYC office! This series is our way of putting a spotlight on the people behind Intenseye, the ones building, solving, and showing up every day. Our Strategy and Operations Manager Zeynep Zaimler met with Ivan to ask him to share a bit about his role and life at Intenseye. Here's what he had to say: Q: How did you find your role at Intenseye? A: I got into computer vision at NYU and loved it, but I couldn't find an application I actually believed in. Then I found Intenseye. Honestly, I fell for the company before I knew what the job was. The mission came first, the role turned out to fit. It lets me chase the technical problems I find genuinely interesting, and the output is that fewer people go home injured. I don't have to pick one. Q: What's a cool project you're working on? A: Almost everything we do runs on standard 2D cameras. Right now I'm working with 3D depth cameras instead. We're watching for a hand crossing an invisible boundary around a moving machine, then stopping that machine before it can hurt anyone. It has to be fast and it has to be certain, a hard combination. It's also the most fulfilling engineering I've done. Q: What do you like about the Intenseye engineering team? A: Everyone here cares, about the work, about each other, about our clients. No task is too small to ask for help with, and nobody makes you feel lost for asking. You can be completely straight with anyone, and they'll be straight back. I think that follows from having an unambiguous north star: help our clients keep their people safe. In the first half of 2026, Intenseye's real-time safety monitoring helped improve safety by flagging more than 2.8 million high risk events. But as we all know, detection is only half the work. While more than 60k+ involved vehicle-pedestrian interactions, the real work starts when teams act on these risks, take preventive measures, and strengthen safety practices. And after taking more than 9000+ corrective actions across all facilities, we are proud to have contributed to the improvement in safety scores across industries.
