Dr. Natalya Bannister Roby, our President & CEO, and Dr. Melanie Clough, Associate Vice President of Early Childhood Education, shared what this exciting season means for children and families across Northeast Florida. During the conversation, Dr. Roby also shared that ECS4Kids will be welcoming over 800 more children and their families in Duval County, thanks to a recently awarded grant! At ECS, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools we have to strengthen communities and break cycles of poverty. For nearly 60 years, expanding access to high-quality early learning—and meeting families where they are—has been at the heart of our mission. Your child’s brain is growing faster right now than it ever will again! Between ages 3 and 5, children are laying the foundation for how they focus, solve problems, and manage emotions. Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) helps strengthen these skills through play, structure, and encouragement from caring teachers!

Support is pouring in from across the community following the announcement that ECS4Kids will deliver Head Start services to more than 800 children and families in Duval County! In a recent announcement, former Mayor John Peyton recognized ECS4Kids as one of the inaugural partners in launching Jacksonville’s early literacy and family engagement efforts nearly 20 years ago. The Mayor’s Book Club will ensure that every four-year-old in Jacksonville receives a free book each month, thanks to the generous donation from Mayor Peyton and the Gate Foundation.
