Across Florida, Pace is tackling one of the most persistent challenges in education: the literacy gap. Nationwide, only 30% of eighth-grade students read at or above proficiency. Girls from low-income households face even greater barriers, from early learning gaps to limited access to books. Pace is meeting this challenge head-on through: ▫️ Year-round education ▫️ Family engagement strategies backed by research ▫️ Personalized instruction using IXL ▫️ Creative, girl-led literacy events The results speak volumes—not just in academic data, but in our girls' voices. “The book changed me. At Pace, Lacey found support, healing, and a new sense of purpose. Now a proud graduate, she’s studying Early Childhood Education at Marchman Technical College, with plans to pursue a Nursing degree. “Since enrolling at Pace, I have grown in ways I never imagined. I’ve learned how to build relationships while staying true to myself. I no longer apologize for who I am. Before, I had no drive and constantly worried about my future���but now I’m proud of my healing journey and the changes I’ve made.” Lacey’s dream is to advocate for girls who’ve experienced trauma—just like her. “My advice? Don’t let anyone change you—it’s okay to ask for help.” We’re honored to be part of her story. #GreatInEveryGirl

From the classroom to a career in healthcare — we’re cheering Derriannah on every step of the way! Derriannah is a former Pace girl who participated in our programming in Hillsborough County. This summer, she’s interning at Tampa General Hospital through the Think Big For Kids program, gaining real-world experience and building toward a bright future. #GreatInEveryGirl

Thanks to our year-round academic model, girls receive consistent support and opportunities for credit recovery, enrichment, and personal growth. And this summer, Lexi Falance, a social studies teacher at Pace Broward, created a learning environment that blended creativity with academic growth. Our girls visited the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering for a hands-on experience in science and technology. From experimenting with water purification to exploring the world of robotics in the CISCOR Lab, they saw how women are leading innovation in STEM fields. When girls see women thriving in STEM, they begin to see themselves there too. #GreatInEveryGirl
