🌊 This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity—thanks to CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer and BEA ERG—to volunteer at the 4th Annual River Bowl in Oklahoma City. The River Bowl is more than just a rowing event; it’s a powerful moment for community connection, representation, and inspiration. Focused on bringing awareness to rowing in the underrepresented African American community, the event provided a space for youth and families to come together, learn, and be empowered. A personal highlight for me was meeting Patricia Spratlen-Etem—1984 Olympian and the second African American woman to compete on the U.S. Olympic Rowing Team. Her story and presence were truly inspiring and a reminder of how representation matters in every space, including on the water.
