Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear is a Side Quest in White Orchard. In his travels, Geralt finds that another Witcher came to White Orchard, and brought with him two diagrams from the Viper School of Witchers. Read our full Walkthrough below to help guide you through this scavenger hunt.

Scavenger Hunt Walkthrough

The two diagrams in this side quest can be found in either order, and finding one will trigger the side quest to find the other. These two diagrams can be found in a Bandit Camp near the Ransacked village, and the other beneath the White Orchard Cemetery in a crypt, which is one of the hidden treasure locations.

Finding the Serpentine Steel Sword

Locate the Bandit Camp just to the West of the Ransacked Village, located in some ruins atop a ride (you can climb up the side of a broken pillar. Kill the bandits and locate a large chest to get both the diagram, and clues as to the location of the other diagram. The chest also has a note that speaks of the other Witcher, who was interrogated for the disappearance of a child. He opted for a Trial by Ordeal, and tried to clear the nearby crypt of a Wraith, and never came back.

Finding Serpentine Silver Sword

Head to the old abandoned Mill North of White Orchard, and then continue North to the White Orchard Graveyard. Here you will find a crypt guarded by a Wraith. It is fairly powerful, so consider using Specter Oil and the Yrden Sign to slow it down. It will try and disappear and reappear to catch you off guard.

If you attack it outside, it will retreat into the crypt, where you will have to break open the door to pursue it. Inside the crypt, look for a body near the far wall to find the other diagram. Another note shows that the Witcher was planning to return these long lost diagrams to his school, but was never able to.

Both swords are powerful, and grant additional chance of poisoning enemies. They also require Emerald Dust to craft, which can be found off the wraith you killed, or the one guarding a Place of Power North of the town of White Orchard, or from defeating the Noonwraith in the Contract: Devil by the Well
