Funeral Pyres is a Side Quest in Velen, located on the road West of Mulbrydale. A Chaplain of the Eternal Fire wants you to burn some corpse piles of nearby battlefields.

There are three different sites you need to travel to, and each has a host of Ghouls crawling along the battle sites. Defeat the packs, and take care not to get swarmed, then soak the corpse pits and use Igni to set them ablaze.

When you get to the last battlefield, a survivor will be fighting for his life against the Ghouls. Help him out, then learn the truth of why the Chaplain wants these bodies gone.

Return to the Chaplain at his new location near the border to Novigrad. As always you can make a choice. The Chaplain will offer to "buy" your silence on the matter for 65 crowns and some experience for finishing the quest.

However, if you fancy your chances in a 1 v 3 fight, you can refuse the bribe and take out the Chaplain and his goons, and loot the chaplain for a whopping 200 crowns!
