Carnal Sins is a Side Quest in The Witcher 3 and takes place in Novigrad. This quest begins automatically at the end of "Cabaret" and sees you visiting Priscilla in a local hospital after she was attacked and left in a critical condition.

Carnal Sins Walkthrough

Priscilla has been attacked and is in the local hospital. Dandelion and Geralt rush off to see her. Her condition is critical and Dandelion will ask you to find who did this deed and end them. The doctor agrees to take you to the morgue to inspect another victim with similar wounds. Leave the hospital and follow the doctor.

He leads you through the sewers to a secret way into the morgue to check out a dwarf with similar injuries. Be wary of the Drowners and the Water Hag in the sewer while you travel.

You can inspect the dwarf’s head, torso, hands, legs, and genitals in depth to gather all the clues you can about the killer. When you are done inspecting, the two of you are interrupted. Another doctor, named Hubert, and the Reverend Nathaniel stop by and kick you out. The Reverend is not a fan of people visiting and kicks you both out.

To follow up on the dwarf, you need to check out the corpse collector and his brother, Gus. The corpse collector isn’t far from the morgue so go see him first. He likes to pick valuables off dead bodies before turning them in and he picked our dwarf clean. Use Axii level 3 or a bribe of 200 crowns to get the goods back from him. When you have the note from the dwarf, head to Gus’ place to talk about his brother.

After a warm greeting from Gus’ dogs, inspect the grounds with your Witcher Senses to inspect the bonfire, bloodstains, and a sermon. Check out the door to their workshop too and look inside for more bloodstains. You may speak to Gus about their business together and such. When everything is inspected, it’s time to snoop around the area where Priscilla was attacked.

Follow your mini map to a shady part of town. When you get close, you should be stopped by a guard saying that their has been another murder! Inspect the area where Priscilla was attacked and then go back to the morgue. You will spot blood, footprints, and formaldehyde. During the investigation, a nearby whore thinks you are the murderer and sends her three brothers to attack you. Quickly take care of them and head to the morgue.

At the morgue, Doctor Hubert shows you the body. On it’s person is another note listing the next victim. Rush off to the Vegelbud Estate to try and save Miss Patricia Vegelbud! Either use Roach or Fast Travel to get there as quickly as possible. Head up the estate, convincing both the guard and Patricia’s daughter to let you see her. When you arrive though, it’s too late. The murder ran away!

Chase him down into the courtyard, where the guards mistake you for the murderer. Quickly fight them to prove that you are innocent. Grab the note off Patricia’s body to discover that Sweet Nettie at the brothel Crippled Kate’s is next. Head back into town to try and save her.

When you get to Crippled Kate’s head all the way upstairs to find Sweet Nettie and, surprise, Reverend Nathaniel! He was getting ready to burn Nettie before you interrupted. Despite being caught with the next victim, the Reverend’s methods don't match the serial killer's. You need to make the right dialogue choices here to find the real culprit.

-Ask about the formaldehyde
-Ask who left the note on Patricia’s body

When you ask those questions, the Reverend will point you in the direction of Hubert! He’s down at the docks now! However, before we go confront the killer, we need to take care of Nettie. Use Axii level 3 to stop the Reverend peacefully, or tell him that you cannot allow it. With Nettie safe, head off to the warehouse.

When you show up, Hubert is there and reveals that he is a higher vampire! He is out to kill sinners for the Church of the Eternal Fire. He’s not too happy that you found him. He then transforms into a katakan, so get ready!

How to Defeat the Vampire

The catch with these types of Vampires is that they regenerate health rapidly. You want to be quick and hit hard to finish him. Equip Moon Dust bombs, get a Black Blood potion ready and consider using the Yrden sign to slow him way down.

When he's in the circle it prevents him from running around super fast and turning invisible. Wail on him with a silver sword coated with Vampire Oil and prepare your Igni sign if you need to. Just remember to cast Yrden beforehand to keep him slowed and easier to kill.

When the vampire has been slain, go back to the hospital to see Dandelion and Priscilla. She is healing up nicely and your quest will conclude.
