Patter-patter-patter. I find the sound of the rain against the umbrella really satisfying. Sometimes, I'll hum to the rhytm, but most of the times, I just enjoy the ambience. The days grow shorter now, colder. I need a jacket for the evening walks, something with deep pockets to hold the chestnuts I find irresistible to pick up. Halloween is almost upon us, and it makes me think how many people think about October through the lens of it. For me, it's that, of course - Halloween is my favourite holiday - but there's more. I like sitting in the local cemetery and thinking about how life passes. There is stillness there that doesn't demand anything from me. I think about all these petty little squabbles, tiny things people get upset over - but the headstones provide a necessary perspective. In ten, fifteen, twenty years, will these frictions matter? Will I even remember what the argument was about? As I grew older, I definitely started to handle bad days better; I simply ask myself

Your body is a canvas, and canvases are meant to be painted on. This is the chance to start your Halloween prep by learning how to draw stitches! [DEVIATION] @Vitani4000 is here to help you piece together this scar-y look, stitch by stitch. Get started by watching her easy-to-follow video tutorial! [VIDEO] [DEVIATION] Step 1: Assemble the parts Black-and-white body paint or black-and-white eyeliner Eyeshadow that’s slightly darker than the color of your face Brushes Or grab whatever drawing tool you have! Step 2: Lay down the lines Draw scar lines with black body paint or eyeliner, or whatever drawing tool you’re using. Let the lines bend and curve instead of making them straight. [DEVIATION] Step 3: Get shady Use a small, fluffy brush to add some depth by shading the sides of the scar lines, leaving a small gap between the lines and these shadows. [DEVIATION] Step 4: Stitch incoming This is the fun part. Add the actual stitches! Make them small or large, bent or straight

DeviantArt is proud to announce a new opportunity for deviants to contribute to the community at a deeper level! The Ambassador program is designed to give deviants a chance to bring artists together, offer ways for artists to hone their skills or try new things, and help shape the future of the community.  Deviants eligible to participate in the Ambassador program are those who are co-founders or top contributors of official DeviantArt groups or affiliated groups. There are many factors that determine whether or not deviants might be a good fit for the Ambassador program, but all potential ambassadors should: Frequently run or organize community events Routinely be active participants in their community Consistently encourage and cheer on other artists Ambassadors will have direct contact with and support from DeviantArt team members when hosting events and challenges, to help their projects thrive.   Are you ready to be a community ambassador?
