Morning was always the worst part of Chiaki Nanami’s day. Having to wake up in the morning, go through the same daily routine of getting ready for the day, and then walking to school alone. Thus, she made a habit of playing video games while she walked. She knew it wasn’t really safe, but she knew the commute well enough, and she did have a reputation to uphold as the Ultimate Gamer. …A reputation that didn’t matter quite so much after graduating from Hope’s Peak, but a reputation all the same.
Despite this, unexpected things still happened from time to time. Bumping into people, tripping over nothing, or completely missing something happening around her. Such as now, when she was jolted out of her focus by a yell in her general direction.
