I don't even know where to start. So, let's start with a deeply humbled THANK YOU. Thank you to all of you that have liked my artistic attempts and have awarded badges. I am the least artistically capable person I know. By that I mean, I have been praised for decades for my writing abilities but never ever for my painting/drawing/etc. And yes, I'm aware that the ability to weave words is an art form of its own. AI has given my brain another outlet for the words that are constantly tumbling over themselves seeking a way to be out in the world. I put things here because I love them and then honestly am shocked and beyond awed when there are others that love them as well. All of this is to say, again, THANK YOU. All of you. There is no way to keep up with writing everyone a note of their own; I do hope you will see this and know you are appreciated, every dang day!

We've been gone from the deep South for 10 years, nearly to the day if the truth be told, now that we're back I'm fully reminded of a few things: I still crave COLD winters with snowy days, tornado season is pretty much 12 months a year, don't plant anything before mid-April that cannot survive Mother Nature throwing in one more freeze prior to summer heat and humidity, people move slower here and they talk slower too, and finally - it's so great to be so close to our grandkids! There are lunches and book shopping, bball tournaments, upcoming swim meets, random drop in weekend visits - all the things we just haven't been able to do for the last ten years. The joy of grandkids being close trumps every single negative I can list about the South. All that said, tomorrow is yet another day with a 3 out of 5 on the risk of tornado scales around here. Being in a single story brick house is much more comforting than being in a two-story or in a manufactured home but it's still going
