Join Us for 12 Days of Features! It is officially December!
For the colder regions of the world this means hot chocolate, warm fires, and snowflakes. For all areas of the world there is no lack of holiday cheer and good will. So the Community Relations team would like to invite everyone to join us for an annual project to spread some joy around the holiday season!
Welcome to the 12 Days of Features!
Our feature project invites the community to share some of their favorite artwork from the community from a variety of themes to help DA count down to Christmas Day.

:santa:  How it Works  :rudolph:

The project runs for 12 days from December 14th through December 25th!Each feature should have the number of deviations that correspond to the day we're on! For example, December 14th is Day 1, so the feature should have 1 deviation! Day 12 will have 12 deviations. The deviation(s) should fit the theme

SnowflakesSnowflakes are many things and here's few of those:
They're cool
They're beautiful
They're unique and not afraid to be that way
They're cold, because other ways they would melt
But all these things just makes them so great.

Buddy, member of the Superior Race (a.k.a. Cats)“I don’t know what to write about the Buddy!” The female had cried out, done a strange, yet common, flail-dance while running around. I thought she was insane, which wasn’t out of the ordinary. She had flail-run out of the room, then back again and sat next to me.
I gave her a blank face. She fell back on her rump, then lunged forward onto her belly and hugged me. She buried her face in my fur and rubbed my side. This went on for minutes before she finally rolled away, when I had begun to thrash my tail around. She went to my second favorite spot, sat, stared at the strange Light Box and began to rapidly make tapping sounds. It annoyed me, so I turned my back to her. They were strange creatures.
Me? They refer to me as Buddy, but my true name cannot be properly said in their clumsy language that I’ve come to understand the basics off. I am a member of the Superior Race. They refer to us as “Cats”. We are strong, fast, covered in protective fur,
Fish - 100 PromptsWelyn, a small five year old boy, stood in the stream’s shallow, up to his knees. His big sister Raewyn, an eight year old, stood on dry land and watched. The boy was watching the water intently, where small minnows swam. He lunged, they scattered and he came up empty handed for the hundredth time.
“Rae! They got away again!” He cried upon seeing his empty hands. All the older boys were able to catch a fish with their bare hands. Why couldn’t he?
Raewyn sighed, hitched up her dress and waded out into the stream, up to her knees. It was further in than her brother, as she was almost a foot taller than him. He was small, even for his age, but their parents were certain he’d grow taller. Something about how their father had been small too, but he was tall now.
There was slightly larger fish here, but still tiny compared to what the big boys that Welyn envied could grab. Raewyn readied her hands and sighed when her dress plunged down into the water, imm
Enough - 100 PromptsShe had gone too far. She had set the elf on fire, burned him alive, just by glaring at him. Sure, he had been an asshole, but he didn’t deserve that. Nobody did. His fire had set his tree on fire, and soon enough, they had elven arrows flying at them from the treetops, as they surely had their shamans rushing to put out the flame before it got out of control.
Welyn had deflected arrows with his buckler, one screaming past his cheek, leaving a long, thin cut. Caeden took one to his left shoulder as they were fleeing, but thank the Goddess he didn’t lose much speed and they were able to get away.
They were down by a brook, Caeden sitting on a rock, Ava in front of him, tentatively using her magic to heal his wound, Welyn standing by, trying to help however he could. Raewyn paced impatiently, angrily, over by the brook. Caeden glared at her, which she either didn’t notice or didn’t care about.
Finally, they bandaged Caeden and put his arm in a sling.

Beginnings - dAmnU contestIt came with the trembling of fingers;
defiant by nature and burnished by tears,
And followed by scratches, burns and blood
(Along with the dyed-black-short-cropped hair)
As digits tippled, tumbled, tripped past keystrokes,
Enveloping, emotional...
passion awoke.
Then came the aching... Elipses, a favourite
   Wanting,

Consummation so overwhelming
Please be my friend, PLEASE BE MY FRIEND
Darkness shelved behind simple rhyming couplets.
Darting between shoutboxes and pageviews,
An obsession borne.
Refuge and shelter,
friendly words by her side...
A place without hatred
Made the choice to reside.
Years flew with aging grace, wisdom
and a shit-ton of tears and hurt..
Blossomed friendships, grown hearty through shared passion
and weary through time, anger and aggravation,
And the 'refuge' faltered,
crumbled to join the rubble of fear
and paranoia,

Trenchpunk ContestTrenchpunk Contest by @evilwraith666 What's Trenchpunk?- Sci-fi and/or fantasy from the era of 1914-1918 - dewitteillustration .- WWI with past anachronism, including cavalry or infantry. No steam/diesel mechanical/engine elements, with the exception of 'steam horses'. Can extend to Balkan Wars and Russian Revolution. - @evilwraith666 . - Features from Trenchpunk style include elements like gas masks, mass produced armor, rifles, medieval-like melee weapons, cavalry, infantry, bikes. Trends can go from "trench knights" to "WWI witches", or modern-medieval anachronisms. Can not be steampunk. - For showing Trenchpunk anachronism in vehicles, emphasis on characters with anachronistic features so as to not look like dieselpunk or steampunk.ChallengeSubmit a new deviation for the contest with the theme or in the style of Trenchpunk. Whether it's a fanart, photomanipulation, digital or traditional drawing, the style has to be Trenchpunk showcasing the artwork in WWI with past anachronism. RulesEntrant must be at least thirteen (13) years old as of the announcement of this contest. Entrant must follow the instructions on the contest announcement and submit a deviation according to the theme of "Trenchpunk".For artwork involving vehicles (such as zeppelins, planes, tanks, etc), characters must be present/visible to show the anachronistic feature in the human to represent Trenchpunk. An example would be a pilot wearing a viking helmet and goggle. Can not be just a plane itself. Since scenes involving cavalry/infantry would also have characters and thereby anachronistic features, that's fine. Vehicle features could be things like medieval heraldry/painting, or WWII features instead of WWI style painting scheme in association with the character anachronism. Anachronistic features of the vehicles can include items not present in WWI, such as flamethrowers, electric canon devices, sails, solar powers, but character must be present as well with the anachronistic features. An example would be a drawing of a WWI infantry or cavalry- with a clear depiction of the person + anachronisms from another time period ( from Stone Age to modern, doesnt really matter- but preferably affecting clothing or weaponry so its visually clear its combining time per ), but does not include gears, engines, or mechanical bits. The Work: i. Must be a new work made by the Entrant and made for the Trenchpunk Contest; ii. Must not be displayed or showcased in a premium/watcher only gallery of DeviantArt account. The work can be either in traditional or digital visual medium. Fanart and Photomanipulation is allowed: i. For Fanart, mention which fandom it is from. ii. Credit any resources you are using, such as stock images, etc for photomanipulation. Resources used must be legitimate and credited and listed in the description. Google is not a stock website. Multiple entries are allowed, but can win only once. Duplicate entries are not allowed. Must include in the description that it was made for the Trenchpunk contest. Submit your entries with the tag "#trenchpunkcontest2021 " and submit it in the comments below. Must follow DeviantArt Terms of Service and Etiquette Policy.
