I heard through the grape vine Valve could be making a surprise appearance this year.?
These are non-players for me.
There would be a lot more PC developers on that list and show casing their games but many developers do not want to get labeled in a 'only' platform class. Also resources and man power prevents many from being in the main expo and courting journalists and retailers at two different segments.?
Take great developers like? inXile Entertainment? (Wasteland 2) that is coming to console and LArian Studios (Divinity OS who probably are also bring this masterpiece to console), they would have a hard time both in money, manpower, and time to push their next games during two different times and two different spaces and two different platforms. ?
That is all you see nowadays is just these terrible console ports (not bad games, just bad ports and localisation) coming to pc. ?The money is still the 800lb console gorilla market -easily seen by how many next gen consoles have sold in just a couple of years, so at a pc only event do you showcase your console port or not??
I think a showcase of?developers?who make pc and console games would draw as much interest and?more developers and spotlights. They are not just console AAA game developers or PC only, but a mix of both.?
Shame, years ago there would've been a much better choice of companies who were pc exclusive. I guess DRM and consoles being a cheap option has made a difference over the years.
@bernard978? That, and console gamers outnumbering us by about 5 to 1.? (Assuming you don't count pirates.)
@bernard978 IT has always been that way, during the 2,3,4,5 gens computer gaming has always been a 'niche' market, I think a more cutting edge market, but still niche.?
They both work together though, to make this hobby we love so much 'gaming' work. I doubt you could have had one without the other to have the industry this is now from what it was 30-40 yrs ago.?
@bernard978? So...you think consoles don't have DRM? What does DRM mean? Digital Rights Management, which is incredibly strong in the consoles than Steam for example.
@Gamer_4_Fun?@bernard978 Not the brutal kind the PC has with Steam, Origin and UPlay no, maybe I should have clarified.
The only developer on that list that I care about is Creative Assembly, and only because I'm hoping for a new Alien game by them.
@Blk_Mage_Ctype Total Warhammer. ?Very interested. ?
Now had never been a better time to be a PC gamer, despite the downgrades.
@ov3r_kill_br0ny The 90s were the best time to be a PC gamer.? Now is the last chance to be a PC gamer.
@adamdroid?@ov3r_kill_br0ny? Nope.? There were a lot of great games in the 90s.? All the old, tired clichés were brand new and seriously fun back then.? But there weren't nearly as many games worth playing, either.? By this time of year in the 90's, you would have finished all the new games from the holiday season and the stragglers that were looking to get bought with your Christmas money.? There wouldn't be anything new until at least August.? Now there's so many new, great games that 1000-hour backlogs are becoming common!
Cool, can't wait to see all the PC 'exclusives' sporting 4 colour graphics and giant pixels vive le indie revolution hell yeah! So glad I bought my 2k PC to play that dung.
@blueinheaven And the you realized that PCs are not meant to only play games.
Personal Computers, FREAK YEAH!
Garbage developers with history of garbage games. Not on par with console developers. AMD is only using this time frame to sell their overhyped Fiji graphics.
@Mr_BillGates You realize most "console" developers don't just make games for consoles right?
@riotinto876?@Mr_BillGates Just ignore Mr Gates of Apple and his crusades against PC gaming
Square Einx ? Besides their console ports , have they ever made a PC game ?
@the_master_race FFXIV is only one I know isn't a console port. ?Console version is port of the PC. ?I expect them to promote the expansion being released next month along with DX11 client.
@pseudopsiakite?@the_master_race Final Fantasy XI too :)
Also, Square Enix owns Eidos - not really the same tho.
I'm a console gamer but it's great to see more PC Devs coming into the picture.
Developers need to go back to developing niche shooters for the PC.
Exciting news.
I'd call it an "AMD show" and not a "PC show".?
@naz99?@busterfriendly? Irrelevant.? Because AMD is running the show, it's all going to be about what XXX is doing YYY on AMD chip ZZZZ.?
@busterfriendly It was created by PC Gamer magazine partnering with AMD, so...
@busterfriendly?@naz99? Errr, what are they supposed to fill those blanks with?? AMD has Mantel.? What else??? Do you really expect Mantel to be a big part of Gone Home??
@crix01?@busterfriendly? Though it is a bit odd it would be AMD instead of NVIDIA.
@busterfriendly Why? can the games on display be only played on AMD hardware?
Guess they finally realized the masterful nature of the PC Race.
@Mogan?@420killaz?@berserker66666 If that makes you feel better about your life, then so be it.
@420killaz?@Mogan?@berserker66666 Sarcasm does help me get through the day, yeah. ?
-_________-
@berserker66666 Hey buddy... this link is for you: http://www.pcgamer.com/lets-stop-calling-ourselves-the-pc-master-race/
@Mogan?@420killaz?@berserker66666 especially when that day consists of seeing constant reminders that your 2000 dollar dinosaur is about to go extinct :P
@berserker66666 Aw, I thought you were better than that. :(
@adamdroid?@Mogan?@420killaz?@berserker66666 I wouldn't game on a PC if I couldn't afford the upkeep. ?Besides, half the appeal of PC gaming is upgrading, installing and optimizing your hardware.
@420killaz?@berserker66666 You can't get better than a PC gamer. ?: )
Alien Isolation felt really good on PC, it's nice to see developers focus on the platform again.
@thermalmotion It's nice to see a Primarily PC only Strategy developer Focus on PC again by making a multiplatform game????
Ok, not exactly a fantastic example from you there :P
Looking forward for SOMA from Frictional Games , their previous games?(Penumbra series and Amnesia)?were great .
They better not Fu this up!
A few good ones in there, but Nexon? really?
@unreal849 Hard to believe, but Maple Story has a huge fan base.
@unreal849 I was thinking they were going to show off Dirty Bomb but Splash Damage is listed there separately (same goes with Project BlueStreak but CB is also listed there separately) so they're probably going to show off Ghost in the Shell Online. MapleStory 2 if I'm lucky.
By looking at the developers it's clear we are going to get huge varation in games shown, and thats great.
So how gamespot going show all new games since too many to show .
@playstationzone They will but my problem is that I want to follow the news about all the games
every E3 I feel lost among all the news out there
Hey.. peasants
We are the ones who programed all consoles for you
We are the ones who crated all the games for you
We are the ones who changing the world
We are the innovators you are the imitators.
You know it so admit It we are the gods and you are peasants
This comment makes people who prefer consoles sound like stubborn holdouts who refuse to embrace technology. Pretty sure everyone uses a computer nowadays, everyone just doesn't play games on them.
@janadhiab It's comments like these that turn console gamers away from PC gaming.
@janadhiab I am a Pc gamer and I do not approve this message. 'There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.'
@janadhiab you sound really dumb, pc master race is a diss lol
@janadhiab? WE? LOL. You didn't do sh*t to contribute in any of those statements.
@janadhiab You actually have done very little in your life. ?
