I heard through the grape vine Valve could be making a surprise appearance this year.?

These are non-players for me.

There would be a lot more PC developers on that list and show casing their games but many developers do not want to get labeled in a 'only' platform class. Also resources and man power prevents many from being in the main expo and courting journalists and retailers at two different segments.?

Take great developers like? inXile Entertainment? (Wasteland 2) that is coming to console and LArian Studios (Divinity OS who probably are also bring this masterpiece to console), they would have a hard time both in money, manpower, and time to push their next games during two different times and two different spaces and two different platforms. ?

That is all you see nowadays is just these terrible console ports (not bad games, just bad ports and localisation) coming to pc. ?The money is still the 800lb console gorilla market -easily seen by how many next gen consoles have sold in just a couple of years, so at a pc only event do you showcase your console port or not??

I think a showcase of?developers?who make pc and console games would draw as much interest and?more developers and spotlights. They are not just console AAA game developers or PC only, but a mix of both.?

Shame, years ago there would've been a much better choice of companies who were pc exclusive. I guess DRM and consoles being a cheap option has made a difference over the years.

@bernard978? That, and console gamers outnumbering us by about 5 to 1.? (Assuming you don't count pirates.)

@bernard978 IT has always been that way, during the 2,3,4,5 gens computer gaming has always been a 'niche' market, I think a more cutting edge market, but still niche.?

They both work together though, to make this hobby we love so much 'gaming' work. I doubt you could have had one without the other to have the industry this is now from what it was 30-40 yrs ago.?

@bernard978? So...you think consoles don't have DRM? What does DRM mean? Digital Rights Management, which is incredibly strong in the consoles than Steam for example.

The only developer on that list that I care about is Creative Assembly, and only because I'm hoping for a new Alien game by them.

Now had never been a better time to be a PC gamer, despite the downgrades.

Zloth2

@adamdroid?@ov3r_kill_br0ny? Nope.? There were a lot of great games in the 90s.? All the old, tired clichés were brand new and seriously fun back then.? But there weren't nearly as many games worth playing, either.? By this time of year in the 90's, you would have finished all the new games from the holiday season and the stragglers that were looking to get bought with your Christmas money.? There wouldn't be anything new until at least August.? Now there's so many new, great games that 1000-hour backlogs are becoming common!

Garbage developers with history of garbage games. Not on par with console developers. AMD is only using this time frame to sell their overhyped Fiji graphics.

Square Einx ? Besides their console ports , have they ever made a PC game ?

pseudopsiakite

@the_master_race FFXIV is only one I know isn't a console port. ?Console version is port of the PC. ?I expect them to promote the expansion being released next month along with DX11 client.

Developers need to go back to developing niche shooters for the PC.

@busterfriendly?@naz99? Errr, what are they supposed to fill those blanks with?? AMD has Mantel.? What else??? Do you really expect Mantel to be a big part of Gone Home??

A few good ones in there, but Nexon? really?

maplefreak26
maplefreak26

@unreal849 I was thinking they were going to show off Dirty Bomb but Splash Damage is listed there separately (same goes with Project BlueStreak but CB is also listed there separately) so they're probably going to show off Ghost in the Shell Online. MapleStory 2 if I'm lucky.

This comment makes people who prefer consoles sound like stubborn holdouts who refuse to embrace technology. Pretty sure everyone uses a computer nowadays, everyone just doesn't play games on them.

@janadhiab It's comments like these that turn console gamers away from PC gaming.
