THE SMOTHERING - has been blocked by Cartoon Network after about 3 and half years.

Very sad. They’re claiming part of the soundtrack since we used Moonlit Battlefield. i think they never noticed the other soundtrack uses because they’re so quiet, but Moonlight Battlefield plays over mostly silence.

Will work on uploading a version that using different music. Probably can’t re upload on the same thing. ugh.

Subtitles/closed captions

There was some issue with approving foreign language subtitles for the episode but it’s been fixed.

There’s now 7 different languages in subtitles and below here’s all the dubs I can currently find.

Español Latino

If you made/know a dub that’s not listed feel free to message me and I’ll try and add it later.

what you use to edit the audio, animation and color to be placed together?

Hey! McKenzie here (editor)! The editing process was done in Premiere Pro! I can outline the whole workflow because I’m an overexcited nerd:

Robin, the colorists, and voice actors all uploaded their parts to Google Drive where everything was organized. Then I took all the pictures and voice lines, and lined them up according to Robin’s instructions + my own intuition. There were several back-and-forth checks with Robin to get advice from him and make sure the timing was good and every joke was hitting correctly. I often exported the ep in segments to show the status so it was sort of modular in that way.

After I timed out the images and voice lines, I grabbed music from online–Aivi and Surrashu uploaded a lot of their instrumental tracks from the show, so I used tracks that matched moods of the scenes (shouts out to commenters who recognized those tracks!). I had to do a lot of fiddling to make the music line up with moments in the show, especially when timing changed in scenes.

Finally I pulled sound effects from freesound.org and matched them to the action. This was one of the most time consuming parts. I was poring through sounds thinking “hmm does this bush rustling sound too aggressive??” and finding the sounds for all the goo was super difficult. But since I don’t have a huge foley setup, I couldn’t record original sfx, so I worked with what I had!

There were some special shots that were more than just static images and required more editing. There were a few pan/zoom shots that took fiddling, and camera shake when people fall or get hit (I used the Camera Shake plugin from Red Giant’s Universe plugin set).

The other big editing thing was the whole scene at night. Those colors were all originally daytime palettes due to miscommunication. Initially, to fix it, we were just going to do a flat color filter overlay, but it made the whole scene look much duller than if there was a while unique color palette for night. But I managed to figure out a combination of overlays and many many “change to color” effects in Premiere to establish a color palette.
