When someone rings your Google Nest doorbell or another compatible doorbell, your Google smart speaker or display can announce their presence. With a smart display, Google streaming device, or Google or Android TV, you may be able to see who's there.
Before you enable visitor announcements, set up your products and connect them to their respective apps.
Important: Visitor announcements may not be available on all third-party doorbells that work with Google. To find out if they're available on your doorbell, check with your doorbell manufacturer.
- Set up your speaker or display.
- Install your doorbell according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Follow these instructions for Nest doorbells:
- Add your doorbell to the Google Home app.
- To get visitor announcements, make sure your doorbell and your speaker or display are in the same home.
- If you have a Nest doorbell, you may have added it to the Google Home app when you installed it.
Turn on personal results for your speaker or display. If you have a display, select Always show proactively.
