use the principles discussed here!
It’s a griffin tutorial; but change out eagle and lion for blue jay, bat, snake, and otter. Practice sketching your ingredients on their own first, because when you have done all the processing, chewing, digesting first, blending will take MUCH less effort.
If you prepare and study before you start, you WILL know where to begin, because you trained your brain!
For less natural looking creatures, see my chimera tutorial
Please show me what you come up with!
what do you MEAN i have to go in and correct the spelling now that i know where it went wrong
tag urself im SHRI,M
Name an animal, using the notes to make a reblog chain, and I will combine the result.
Animal can be living, extinct, vertebrate, invertebrate, dinosaur, fantasy, pretty much anything bigger than a bacteria
Let’s go!
Golden Tiger 👀
Nicobar Pigeon
oogh maned wolf
Platypus
A linsang
That was a heck of a challenge. I think I’ll cut the next one off at 4. Go for it!
Fennec fox!
eastern dragon
Hyena!
capybara!!
Boy if you thought that last one was hard…
Might do more next week!

Thanks you for the crows, I would pay you but sadly I cannot.
Yeahhh… I’m a photographer so I have tens of thousands of photos now. I sort and use them for my own reference and I’m happy to share.
But the thing is that putting them online is a lot of effort and I only spend effort on things I enjoy. So I need an incentive to go through the hassle of uploading everything.
If I were to make a crow pack, I would release it on my gumroad
But I really encourage you to explore taking your own reference
For looking up reference: search up images of “crow flock,” group of crows, etc. Then you have multiple references in one image and they are engaged in more natural behaviors.
Searching for “crow” or “crow in flight” is only going to return the most Polished of images, picked out from hundreds by their photographers as the most aesthetic.
But looking at a flock is more organic, and you see them in all sorts of poses instead of just the ones that look the Nicest
And then, never underestimate the power of taking your own photos, even if it’s with a dinky phone camera. You can also go find crows and sketch them there in the open. Even the grainiest photos are useful for pose and gesture.
Crows are easy to find, even in rural areas. Check around restaurants or anywhere with unsecured garbage. Parks and dumps are favorite places, as well as along highways wherever you spot roadkill.
Crows are very suspicious at first, because they WILL notice you watching them. Be patient, come back frequently, and don’t try to chase them down. Eventually they will acclimate to your presence.
This one landed near me when I was sitting down and going through my pictures, because it was curious about me and I was finally staying still so it came to check me out. This was after 4 hours at the park talking with them and being Weird.
Crows are very judgemental so good luck getting your reference!
I really advocate for taking your own photos (it’s worth the time you put in!) but here you can buy a couple hundred of mine to use for art:

i know nothing about bugs but you draw them so pretty that i’ve decided i love bugs now
I am self employed, and my favorite way to make money is when people fund whatever I’m hyperfixating on. This month is mermaids.
If you have a specific fish you want to see mermified in my style, please let me know above!
If you don’t know any cool fish, I made a guide to discover them here!
You can request non-fish aquatic creatures! Pinnipeds will be selkies, Cetaceans will be mammalers, and arthropods will be Fairies (tiny humanoid magical creatures) that happen to come in aquatic flavors.
Anything else, I will still draw but they won’t be canon to @worldofvonder

Have you ever been a fan of speculative evolution and or plausible alien biology? Ive really found it interesting and fun and was thinking it was kinda up you ally
I dabble a bit, I suppose
PLEASE check out the full posts for write ups and better pictures. I explain each evolutionary stage and driving factors from the perspective of an in-world biologist/anthropologist teaching a class on science and culture. The ones without links are WIPs or sketches that I post on my Patreon discord

How to live when you don’t know left from right in a world where everyone else does.
It frustrated me a lot as a kid because I didn’t know what was wrong and took years to find workarounds. I was worried about driving but turns out I never mix up the pedals this way.
A lot of the time I’ll get the correct direction from hearing it so it’s not debilitating or anything. It’s just hard to put the words “right” and “left” in my memory along with an action.
Muscle memory is great though. Most people turn the sink to cold water without trying, so the more you practice something, the more it’s programmed into you without any pesky words.
You can also use this theory when living in a new part of the world where things are oriented differently than you’re used to. Just make up a new logic rule for the differences.
Happy navigating!
