But with all the praise, there also comes a gnawing sense that whatever flaws Dune: Part 2 may possess, they’re being ignored in favor of many fans already proclaiming it as one of the greatest science-fiction movies of all time, and potentially as a savior of cinema. At a moment where hostility from filmgoers towards the deluge of corporate, micromanaged tentpoles is at an all-time high, Dune 2’s arrival as a massive-scale blockbuster project with a genuine directorial vision must have felt like the second coming. The anime and manga legend was instrumental is the artforms' popularity in the West, and he also contributed to several major games including Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon, and the Tobal series. In other news, Dune 2 director Dennis Villeneuve has made peace with deleted scenes, as in they were deleted for a reason and gone for good. Sorry, that very likely means no director's cut for the Dune trilogy is coming. And finally, Vinnie Jones has turned down an appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine. Apparently the Juggernaut just did not want to deal with that suit again.
