Pastrovich Studio just served up some sweet new charter yacht concepts.

The Monaco-based design firm has unveiled a new line of superyachts that reimagine the classic “wedding cake” silhouette and traditional onboard layouts, resulting in future-forward designs fit for the charters of tomorrow.

The X-Shinobi series comprises three yachts measuring 197, 230, and 262 feet, respectively, plus a 623-foot cruise ship in the ilk of the floating hotels launched by Four Seasons, Aman, Ritz-Carlton, and Orient Express

“X-Shinobi arises from a precise reading of market evolution: a growing share of the yachts of the future will need to be conceived not only as private property, but above all as platforms capable of operating effectively, desirably and profitably in high-end charter,” the studio said in a statement.

The brainchild of architect and naval designer Stefano Pastrovich, the quartet bucks marine conventions. For the exteriors, the tiered “wedding cake” profile has been given a contemporary twist, with sleek horizontal lines that help the cascading decks feel less rigid and boxy. Expansive glazing further adds to the futuristic aesthetic.

The interiors also flip the script, with all the guest cabins located on the main deck rather than the lower deck, as is the norm. As such, the cabins enjoy more light, views, and space, as well as the possibility of a private balcony. They also have a stronger connection to the exterior, with the main deck flowing seamlessly to the aft.

The lower deck, in turn, houses the crew accommodation, engine room, tender garage, spa, and other service spaces, ensuring that everyday operations don’t interfere with the guest experience.

Configurations can include two primary cabins, or one primary, two VIP, and three guest cabins, moving away from the typical arrangement of one lavish owner’s suite and less fancy secondary cabins. That kind of democratization of luxury means all guests should experience similar levels of comfort during charter.

To top it off, the X-Shinobi yachts are equipped with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion systems, ensuring a quiet and fume-free cruising experience for guests while helping to reduce the environmental impact of marine tourism.

The X-Shinobi range is just a concept at this stage, but the four vessels speak to the future of luxury charter.
