Hngggg hear me out
What if the Dark Sides have the same objectives as the original sides, buy they use radically different methodologies?
If the assumption is that the Dark Sides has opposite objectives to the originals, then why isn’t Deceit Logan’s Dark Side? The definition of Deceit is to misrepresent the truth, and it is clear that Logan represents that through means of knowledge. But if we’re operating under the assumption that the Dark Sides just have different methods, then it makes sense that this is Patton’s inverse.
If Patton’s objective is to hold all of Thomas’ happiness and he achieves that means through balancing the real right or wrong, then it would be par for the course for Deceit to push that notion of placating Thomas. Deceit is preservation. It’s keeping sane in this finnicky world (more on that in another ramble). It’d make sense that it’s Patton’s Dark Side.
Deceit is pandering to happy emotion by twisting the truth. Logan’s Dark Side could be someone seeking truth by twisting emotion.
tl;dr the dark ones could have the same goals but different, cruel methods
