The Rumored Witcher Expansion Makes a Strong Case for Old Games Getting New DLC - Beyond Clips

Rumors have been circulating that CD Projekt Red has a brand new expansion in the works for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to hold fans over and set the stage for The Witcher IV’s eventual release. This is awesome, and has us wondering what other massively successful games released a decade or so ago could also sustain a similar approach? We’ve seen Skyrim and Fallout 4 get the occasional upgrade patch or small content drop, but surely if new story content was added, there’s a sizable audience for it? Hopefully these Witcher 3 rumors hold true, it would be nice to see more of Geralt sooner than later. Beyond! The Witcher 4, 5 and 6 Release Plans Revealed By CD Projekt Red - IGN Daily Fix
6 months
-
In today's Daily Fix:In a recent financial call, CD Projekt may have revealed its release plans for the next Witcher trilogy. The Witcher 4 is currently in development with no definitive release date, but CD Projekt wants The Witcher 5 and 6 to follow closely behind, with the goal of releasing those next three games within a 6-year window. Developer CD Projekt RED is not known for rushing its game releases, but the team attributes Unreal Engine 5 as helping to speed up their process. In other news, a new leak of development footage from Grand Theft Auto 6 has hit the internet, before quickly being scrubbed by Rockstar Games. However, the new footage didn't reveal much, just some animation tests and near-confirmation that a bike rental service will be included in the game. Exciting. And finally, IO Interactive has its hands full with 007: First Light, but it will return to the Hitman universe with the brand-new Hitman 4 some time in the future.

Xbox Drops Its Biggest Game Pass Price Hike, Starting Today - IGN Daily Fix
7 months, 4 weeks
-
In today's Daily Fix:Xbox did it again, and by "did it" we mean a Game Pass price hike. And by "again," we mean this is the second time in just over a year that they raised subscription prices. So far, only the Ultimate tier is getting a price increase, from $19.99 to $29.99 — an jump of 50%. In the U.K., the increase is about 53%. The lower tiers aren't changing in price, but are getting re-branded as Essential (replacing Core), and Premium (replacing Standard). There's also some extra perks coming to subscribers, but already the response from gamers has not been great. And in The Witcher news, creator Andrej Sapkowski regrets a single line that he wrote in the early days of the books, that now has become a big deal in the video games.

Resident Evil Requiem: New Details on Gameplay, Setting, Characters & More - Beyond 901

-
Resident Evil Requiem (or Resident Evil 9, RE9uiem, or whatever we’re supposed to call it) got an official reveal during Summer Game Fest 2025, and shortly after that, a select few people got to play a demo behind closed doors. IGN’s Matt Kim was one of those lucky people, so he stopped by to tell us about the game’s newest features. There’s option to swap between first and third person perspective, but that’s not the only new POV. Grace Ashcroft is a new protagonist, and despite rumors that Leon Kennedy would make his return, there’s no sign of him quite yet, but that could always change. We also discuss the demo’s hospital like setting, a big creepy new monster that’s chasing Grace around, and a few other details. RE9 wasn’t the only big reveal, and we recap and discuss a few others, like CD Projekt Red’s unbelievable Unreal 5 tech demo showing off something that’s sort of like The Witcher 4, but not quite gameplay, so maybe we should take it with a grain of salt. Other heavy hitters include Invincible Vs., Dying Light The Beast, Romeo is a dead man, 007 First Light, and The Expanse: Osirus Reborn, which looks like Mass Effect, and is from the developers of Pathfinder: Kingmaker and the Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader games. Finally, there are a bunch of cool-looking games that haven’t gotten quite as much buzz, possibly because they have weird names, such as Luto, Holstin, Aphelion, Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, Hela, and Mu Dang: Two Hearts. End of Abyss, Screamer, and Reach also look cool, though maybe their names aren’t weird enough.00:00 - Intro01:08 - Let's Talk About Resident Evil Requiem14:30 - Grace vs Ethan17:33 - The Rise and Fall of Capcom19:34 - The Next Resident Evil Remake?22:15 - What Other Games Did Matt Play At Summer Game Fest? 36:05 - The Witcher 447:45 - Invincible Vs52:22 - Dying Light The Beast56:54 - Other Cool Games With Weird Names01:08:59 - Romeo is a Dead Man***For thousands of years (or at least since the 90s) PlayStation has been pushing the boundaries of the video game medium. Here's your look at the official Unreal Engine 5.6 tech demo for The Witcher 4, running on PlayStation 5 with raytracing. The video gives a deep dive into the technological foundation of the new Witcher saga, showing features like multi-character motion matching in Unreal and more. This tech demo shows off the new Fast Geometry Streaming Plugin to load open-worlds faster, and we see how UE 5.6 handles busy scenes full for high-fidelity character models and visual effects like ML Deformer. Additionally, we see Nanite Foliage in action, which provides a memory-efficient way to achieve high density (and fiedelity) foliage, slated for release on UE 5.7.The Witcher 4 is releasing at a later date.

EA's Black Panther Cancelled, 3 Marvel Games Still In Development - IGN Daily Fix
1 year
-
In today's Daily Fix:Electronic Arts has cancelled its solo Black Panther game and shuttered the developer, Cliffhanger Games. EA is doing some cost-cutting elsewhere, as well, with around 300 roles affected across multiple teams. It's another blow to an already tumultuous industry where AAA gaming with big IPs usually mean skyrocketing costs. In other news, work on Cyberpunk 2 has officially started over at CD Projekt. The game will be a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which infamously had a pretty rocky launch on last-gen consoles back in 2020. However, most of the company is still hard at work on The Witcher 4, which does not yet have a release date. And finally, the Switch 2 officially launches in the U.S. next week, but already the console is getting into the hands of the public. A Russian blogger apparently was able to buy one and have it shipped early, but without the Day 1 update, the unit is useless. And over at Target, a whole bunch of Switch 2's were rolled out in a lock-up cage onto the store floor and just left there.
