–The End of Evangelion

Distraught over the death of Kaworu Nagisa, Shinji Ikari, pleads for help from a comatose Asuka Langley Soryu. With the Angels killed andGendo Ikari’s treachery, SEELE dispatches the Japanese Strategic Self-Defense Force (JSSDF) to infiltrate the Geofront and assume control of NERV. Ritsuko Akagi is released from detainment to install a firewall into NERV’s MAGI computer system to thwart a hacking attempt. The JSSDF enters NERV Headquarters and kills nearly everyone there, with top priority given to the capture of the Evas and the deaths of their pilots.

 

–Hotaru no Haka (Grave of the Fireflies)

A Japanese boy of 14 and his 4 year old sister, attempt to seek refuge from the atrocities of World War II in the small city of Kobe. Before American troops begin to occupy their country, the children resort to dwelling in an abandoned bomb shelter in the countryside. Though these siblings later get a sense of safety, they realize necessities such as food and water will not be easy to come by.

–Ghost in the Shell

The year is 2029. The world has become intensively information oriented and humans are well-connected to the network. Crime has developed into a sophisticated stage by hacking into the interactive network. To prevent this, Section 9 is formed. These are cyborgs with incredible strengths and abilities that can access any network on Earth.
