I finally came up with the main antagonist in my Rise TMNT fic. The main canon antagonist is Big Mama, but I created a villain to help with later issues in the plot.

I won’t spoil everything in case someone wants to actually read my silly story, but a few tidbits:

• He’s an owl yokai and a former disciple of Baron Draxum
• He’s continuing Draxum’s research and creating new mutants
• He’s not actually evil, but his methods are absolutely unethical
• His reason for creating new mutants is not inherently evil either.
• Lots of Greek/Athenian themes

I think the huge issue I have with the yandere turtles is how easily someone like me could get sucked in by them. I’m anxious, have PTSD and depression, I’m touch-starved and desperately looking to be loved and accepted.

The idea of a good-looking brave turtle dude suddenly wanting to spoil and protect me from the dangers of the harsh world sounds dangerously appealing. Even more so if they declare their love for me and desire for me to be theirs.

So yeah, I think I could be stuck in a stockholm situation with one of them and it’s a bit terrifying. And yet some twisted part of me likes the idea.

I also admittedly have a weird thing for the Feral!Turtles AU, especially Leo. I love when fics and comics write him as being almost nonverbal but super affectionate to those he likes.

I imagine him falling for me and nuzzling me like a puppy and trying to relearn words for me. Almost a Tarzan and Jane situation. It’s problematic but I can’t help but like it a little. : A ;

Is it bad that I either want to roleplay some of this or send some asks some people’s way about both AUs?

Okay, I keep running across this weird fan interpretation of Donnie being touch-adverse, and I’m sorry, I just don’t see it? ALL of the boys are huggy and physically affectionate with each other.

I think there may be like, ONE scene where Donnie tries to push Leo off him because Leo is literally trying to steal his tech-wrist band.

Also, as an autistic person whose primary love language is physical touch, I really appreciate seeing a fictional canonly autistic character who likes hugs and affection?

Oh, and the same goes for “Donnie is cold and uncaring.” The guy’s a nerdy theater kid who makes gifts for his brothers, is sensitive, craves his father’s approval, has the most wholesome friendship with April ever, and is generally an over-dramatic adorkable mess.

Compared to his over-the-top brothers he has more serious/sarcastic/deadpan moments, but that doesn’t make him cold or uncaring. He’s honestly a sweetheart and I love him.

Not even an hour after posting my Tactical!AU art and I’m getting reblogged by a user who’s ranting about how gross and disgusting it is for people to ship OCs with canon Rise TMNT characters.

And yet their blog is full of the FAN INTERPRETATION of Usagi from the Usagi Yojimbo comics.

How the hell is that not an OC? THERE IS NO CANON USAGI IN RISE.

Also, why is it so bad for me to ship my OC with a canon character? I’m not hurting anyone. No one has to look at my art. I have it tagged as “rottmnt x oc” for a reason.

I literally think this kid was trolling the tag on purpose just to hurt people. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to take my panic attack meds because I can’t breathe.

I stumbled across @donathan​​‘s amazing Tactical!Turtles AU and absolutely was blown away by their versions of the characters, especially Donnie! In this universe the boys, April, Splinter and Draxum are a mercenary group being badass and taking on jobs for hire.

One cool thing about the creator is that they actively seem to encourage folks to make fan content, and even put their OCs in the universe! Being the self-indulgent fangirl that I am, I decided to throw Michan into the mix.

(Oh, and I have to apologize to the creator. I forgot Donnie’s markings and facial scar. If I have time tomorrow I’ll fix it).

In this universe she’s a talented healer working for her sister’s underground mercenary group that specializes in hits targeting yokai and mutant hunters. Michan primarily acts as a medic for the mercenaries, a back-alley doctor of sorts, and is a well-kept secret in the organization.

Cue the boys being hired to protect Michan while Rika has to take on a job overseas, taking most of her force with her. Donatello in particular isn’t too keen on guarding a “sheltered princess” until he discovers that while she’s not an amazing fighter, Rika trained her to be competent enough with martial arts and handguns to protect herself.

Cue a slow-burn romance with lots of patching-up boo-boos, Donnie’s grumpy shell being chipped away at little-by-little by a sweet girl who just won’t give up on him, and a few sexy moments that happen mostly by accident.

When the job is done, Rika comes to take Michan back, and while Donnie’s not happy, he doesn’t say anything at first because the contract was fulfilled. However, Michan stuffs a business card in his shirt, insists that she will do healing work for the boys pro-bono, and that they had better call her.

Donnie remarks on how it would be bad for both of them if their connection was made public, to which Michan responds that it would be the same on her end. Rika is intrigued by the exchange, offering a deal. The boys would collaborate efforts with her group to take on yokai/mutant hunter hits, and both groups would split the profits.

The boys consider the idea, taking it up with Draxum and Splinter, who agree to it. Michan becomes joint medic and healer for the two groups and eventually the romance between her and Donnie is solidified.
