1047 Games Reveals First Trailer for ‘Titanfall-Like’ EMPULSE

1047 Games has unveiled the first trailer for EMPULSE, the Titanfall-esque first-person shooter that features high-octane, parkour-fuelled combat and mechanized suits that players can assume control of.

The trailer is only 40 seconds long, but it gives players a taste of what to expect when a wider reveal lands on June 7th during the PC Gaming Show, when EMPULSE will get a gameplay reveal.

EMPULSE Trailer Dropped by 1047 Games Ahead of Showcase

1047 Games is set to get a broader reveal this coming Sunday, but for now, the 40-second snippet offers our first in-engine cinematic glimpse at the new game from the developer of Splitgate.

Here’s the trailer:

In a press release, 1047 Games explained the gist of EMPULSE:

In EMPULSE players take on the role of mercenaries for hire battling alongside and against rival Crews in the streets of Freehold, a reclaimed district inside a megacity.

Movement is at the heart of every fight and players can wall-run forwards and backwards, swing with a grapple hook, launch off Holojumps, and alter surfaces with P.A.I.N.T. bombs to outmaneuver opponents across multiple game modes.

The team spoke about the player-controllable mech suits that spawn on the map ‘every few minutes’ armed with heavy weapons and unique abilities, which is where the Titanfall element comes into play.

The trailer is interesting, as even though it’s purely a cinematic preview, it shows that 1047 Games is sticking kind of close to Splitgate, the portal-powered first-person shooter that didn’t pan out too well. That hasn’t slowed 1047’s desire to create the next best thing in the first-person space.
