Vaibhav Srivastava

Final-year Computer Science · PES University, Bangalore

Four years in and still curious about all of it. I've written a retrieval engine for Indian criminal law, a civic platform for a village council, and a robot that dodges things — and I'd struggle to tell you which one taught me the most.

🔨 Things I've built

AI

LawLine AI · Grounded QA over the Indian Penal Code and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The pipeline was picked by benchmark, and every run is in the repo — including the reranker I was sure would win and didn't.

Knowledge Manager · Seven agents with real handoffs, citations down to the page, and an approval gate that actually stops the run before a write.

Web

E-GRAM-CONNECT · Grievances, notices and dashboards for a Gram Panchayat and its residents.

Cash & Carry Mart · Commerce app with JWT auth, bcrypt, and more MySQL than strictly necessary.

Nutrition Tracker · Calorie and macro tracking with goals that adapt and food suggestions that help.

Data

Sediment Grain Size · Random Forest and SVR on real hydrodynamic and water-chemistry readings. Messy data, no tidy answers.

Market Data · BookPulse · Live feeds and bestseller trends, turned into something readable.

Hardware

Line Tracker · Follows a line, avoids obstacles. The compiler can't tell you it works — the robot has to stop hitting things first.

🌍 Where I contribute

Somewhere along the way, patching other people's code became the part I look forward to. 349 merged pull requests across 220 repositories, in 28 languages — most of them projects I had never opened before the bug that took me there.

Where I keep going back

bernstein 77 · a deterministic orchestrator for coding agents. Replay guarantees, signed lineage, an audit chain a reviewer checks offline — the kind of codebase where a wrong verdict is the bug.

reticle 27 · runtime perception for agents driving web apps. Most of my work there is on the honesty rules: making a verdict say "I could not tell" instead of "it did not happen".

tesserae 14 · deja-vu 6 · openlibrary 3 · quarkus 2 · bootstrap-vue-next 2 · SparkyFitness 2

The spread

Python 33 · TypeScript 29 · Go 24 · C++ 20 · C 17 · Rust 14 · C# 14 · Java 13 · JavaScript 12 · Ruby 10 · PHP 10 · Scala 4 · and single fixes in Kotlin, Elixir, Swift, Racket, Clojure, OCaml, Perl, Dart, R and Scheme

Names you might know: servo · envoy · nextcloud · meilisearch · metasploit · raylib · fish-shell · ceph-ansible · openzfs · hibernate · kubevirt · penpot · sentry-dotnet · terraform-provider-aws · xgboost · mlx · dbeaver · radare2 · Cataclysm-DDA

A few I'm proud of: making a roadmap emitter say why it produced nothing, instead of returning an empty list that looked identical whether or not you had done the work; deleting a guard no test could ever kill, because it was an equivalent mutant quietly reading as missing coverage; and teaching an assertion to report a truncated response body as undecidable rather than failed — a wrong red is more expensive than a slow answer.
