fix(desktop): Browser panel now slides with the panel animation - #28669
With panel animations on, the desktop Browser panel ignored the slide. Opening the panel showed the page at full size on the first frame, on top of the chat the panel had not reached yet. Closing made the page vanish on the first frame instead of sliding out. Terminal and Files animated fine.
To reproduce: on desktop, set Settings → Appearance → Panel animations to 400ms, open a page in the Browser panel, then toggle the right panel.
Change
The desktop browser is an Electron <webview> that lives outside the panel's DOM, so the panel's overflow: clip never applied to it. Its position comes from a placeholder slot whose size never changes while the panel animates.
Now the slot measures how much of it the animating panel actually shows, and the webview is clipped to that with clip-path. The page keeps its full layout and slides with the panel edge. When the panel closes, the slot keeps the page on screen until the panel finishes sliding away. Frames where only the clip changes keep the same rect object, so PreviewView doesn't re-render every frame.
Web is unaffected. Its browser already renders inside the panel's DOM.
Scope and approval
This is a small fix for an obvious visual bug, so it has no prior issue. It makes the desktop browser follow the panel animation that the other surfaces already follow. It adds no settings or new behavior.
Verification
Slow motion (about 7x) at a 400ms panel animation, open then close.
Before: the page covers the composer while the panel is still sliding in, and it vanishes on the first frame of the close.
After: the page slides with the panel edge both ways.

I ran the desktop dev app with a CDP port and logged the webview wrapper's style on every frame. rAF ran at about 120 fps, so the window wasn't throttled. Before the fix, the wrapper sat at its final rect while the panel was 1px wide, and on close it moved offscreen on the first frame. After the fix, the clip follows the panel edge both ways, and nothing is clipped at rest.
Also checked:
Reopening during a close.
Maximize and restore.
Drag-resize: no clip, and the page follows the edge.
Animations off: still instant, with no clip.
An unreachable URL: still hides at once.
The mini-player still appears after the close.
vp run check:changed passes, including format, lint, knip, typecheck, and tests. I added no unit test, because this is a motion bug, so the captures are the proof.

The desktop Browser surface is a webview outside the panel's DOM, so it
appeared at full size before the panel slid in and vanished before it slid
out. Clip the webview to the panel's animating box and keep it shown until
a closing panel finishes.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — The browser surface now clips with the panel animation without resizing the page. Exposure is limited to visual presentation; the reported premature disappearance during closing remains subject to the separate correctness gate.

Walkthrough
The browser surface now clips to the visible intersection of its slot and the preview panel. The presentation store carries the clip rectangle, and the hosted webview applies it through its wrapper style.

Summary
Panel state and clip presentation contract apps/web/src/components/preview/PreviewPanelShell.tsx, apps/web/src/browser/browserSurfaceStore.ts
The preview panel exposes its open or closed clip state. Browser surface presentations accept and store a nullable clip rectangle.
The slot intersects its bounds with the panel bounds and presents the resulting clip. It retains visibility while a closing panel slides away if the clipped bounds have area.
