fix(desktop): Settings opens while the separate preview window has focus - #28657
With a browser preview popped out into its separate window ("Open separate preview window"), focus that window and choose Settings from the app menu or press Ctrl+, (Cmd+, on macOS). Nothing happens. The same applies to the screen snapshot shortcut: the "capture started" event goes to the preview window, and the main window never receives it.
Both events go through DesktopWindow.dispatchRendererEvent, which picked its target with focusedMainOrFirst. That returns whichever window has focus, including the preview window and other helper windows. Those load their own preload and do not listen for menu or snapshot events, so the events are dropped.
Change
dispatchRendererEvent now targets the main window (currentMainWindow, which already skips the connecting splash) instead of the focused window. Only the main renderer listens on these channels, and the main window is a single registered window, so a focused main window behaves exactly as before. Reload, DevTools and zoom in the same menu already target the main window this way.
focusedMainOrFirst stays for its other callers (dialog owners and the context menu), which serve requests from the window the user is in.
Scope and approval
A very small fix for an obvious bug: two lines in one function, no new behavior or setting. It qualifies for the small obvious-bug path in CONTRIBUTING.md without a prior issue. I found no open or closed PR making the same change.
Verification
vp test run apps/desktop/src/window/DesktopWindow.test.ts: 22/22 pass. The existing "popup has focus" case now also dispatches the Settings menu action and asserts it reaches the main window and not the focused popup. On main it fails: the main window receives nothing.
vp run check:changed 8760d063e903406c8e8f695b0852c0a15fc1e00f: format, lint, knip, typecheck and tests pass.
Desktop app on Linux, run unpackaged against isolated state: open a browser preview, pop it out into the separate window, focus that window, press Ctrl+,.
Before (main): the separate preview window has focus, and after Ctrl+, nothing changes.
After: the same steps open Settings in the main window, which takes focus.

macOS and Windows desktop apps. The path is platform independent: the same function picks the target on every OS.
The snapshot shortcut in the real app. It uses the same reveal-enabled targeting path as Settings; the regression test covers that path through the Settings menu action.
With the main window closed on macOS, the main-or-first fallback can still pick a helper window when no main window exists. That is unchanged by this PR.
Full repo test suites and build; CI runs them.

Both dispatches exercise the same reveal-enabled targeting path, so the snapshot assertion repeats the menu-action regression at another call site. Could you remove the snapshot dispatch and its expected call, keeping the menu-action check?
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Menu actions and snapshot-start events now target the main application window rather than a focused preview or popup. Existing lifecycle safeguards remain unchanged, and the change presents limited desktop UI-routing risk.

Reveal-enabled renderer events now target currentMainWindow. The popup-focus test checks that menu actions reach the main window, while contents commands continue to target it.

Summary
Renderer event targeting and popup-focus coverage apps/desktop/src/window/DesktopWindow.ts, apps/desktop/src/window/DesktopWindow.test.ts
Reveal-enabled renderer events now select currentMainWindow. The test checks that the main window receives the open-settings action and that the popup receives no send call. Existing assertions verify that reload, force reload, and DevTools commands target the main window.
The change is mergeable, but adding the focused snapshot-start assertion would prevent this regression from escaping the test suite.

Add snapshot-start coverage to the popup-focus case.
The case does not dispatch a snapshot-start event. Add one with a valid snapshot ID and assert that the main window receives it while popup.send remains empty. Snapshot-start uses the same reveal-enabled renderer-event path as open-settings.

Add snapshot-start coverage to the popup-focus test using dispatchSnapShotEvent
with a valid snapshot ID; assert fakeWindow receives the snapshot event after
the open-settings action and popup.send remains empty.
