Open source tools for Python developers, powered by Rust.
We build libraries and tools for working with AWS, running Python code generated by agents, and publishing documentation. Our projects combine Python APIs and extension points with Rust implementations.
| Project | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| pydynox | A DynamoDB ORM for Python with async and sync APIs, Pydantic integration, and a Rust core. | Stable |
| rboto | Async, typed Python clients built on the AWS SDK for Rust. | Alpha |
| pynox | Python execution with explicit filesystem, network, and resource limits for code generated by agents. | Pre-alpha |
| farol | A documentation generator with a Rust engine and Python plugins. | Pre-alpha |
For practical DynamoDB examples, see pydynox-examples.
- Clear Python APIs. Type hints, predictable behavior, and examples that show how to use the tools.
- Measured performance. Benchmark real workloads and improve the parts that make a difference.
- Maintenance matters. Bug fixes, tests, documentation, and compatibility are part of building a useful library.
- Open development. Discuss changes in public, explain tradeoffs, and welcome contributions.
We use what we build. Problems found in our own work help shape what we improve next.
Bug reports with a small reproducer, documentation improvements, and pull requests are welcome. Start with a project you use, read its contribution guidelines, and comment on an issue before working on it so others know it is taken.

If our tools help you, sponsoring ferrumio helps us spend more time maintaining them: fixing bugs, reviewing contributions, improving documentation, and developing new tools.
