CI flake - restart index test collects 0 subscription updates instead of 1 on Windows #6391
Error:
thread 'standalone::restart::test_add_remove_index_after_restart' (9304) panicked at crates\smoketests\tests\standalone\restart.rs:176:5:
assertion left == right failed: Expected 1 update from subscription
standalone::restart::test_add_remove_index_after_restart failed at restart.rs:176: Expected 1 update from subscription, actual 0, expected 1. The test had restarted the server, published the indexed module, and successfully subscribed to its join query. The initial subscription snapshot was empty; the anonymous add call then completed, but collecting the background subscription yielded no updates. This is the primary failure, not the downstream Tests failed wrapper. No timeout or cancellation occurred.
The supported symptom is a missing collected join-subscription update after restart/index addition. Whether this is a subscription/test-harness race or a server delivery bug is not established by this log.
Duplicate selection
Open-only searches covered the exact test name, add_remove_index, Expected 1 update, restart/subscription, and subscription/index flake terms. No supported specific open match was found. #5851 concerns missing C# quickstart output; #6125 requires multiple RLS rules. Neither matches this restart/index test's operation and diagnostic closely enough to group. No closed tickets were searched or inspected.
Proposed operations
DRY RUN — proposals only; no triage changes applied.
Keep this ticket open; no duplicate closure proposed.
Proposed title: CI flake - restart index test collects 0 subscription updates instead of 1 on Windows — replaces the job-oriented title with the observed failure without claiming an unproven cause.
Proposed team: Core — runtime subscription correctness or its source-code test harness, rather than an observed infrastructure/setup failure.
