Warning

For contributors, human or agent. Comment here to claim this issue and wait for the assignment before opening a PR; if two PRs show up, the assignee's stays. AI-assisted work is welcome, say so in the PR and tell us how you verified it: run the tests yourself and paste what you saw, do not describe runs you did not do. Read AGENTS.md first, it has the commands and the rules the CI enforces. This goes into 3.41.0.

Expected Behaviour

The IdempotencyConfig docstring states the real default for local_cache_max_items.

Current Behaviour

aws_lambda_powertools/utilities/idempotency/config.py declares local_cache_max_items: int = 256 and the documentation table says 256, but the docstring says "by default 1024".

Code snippet

from aws_lambda_powertools.utilities.idempotency import IdempotencyConfig
IdempotencyConfig().local_cache_max_items  # 256, docstring says 1024

Possible Solution

Fix the docstring line to 256. Docs-only change, use the docs(idempotency): prefix in the PR title.

Item 12 of the Idempotency audit in #8603. No tests or AWS resources needed.

    Hi! I'd like to take this one. It's a small docstring fix (1024 -> 256). I'll wait for assignment before opening a PR.
