In Cowork, Claude cannot read from or write to my private GitHub repositories. . This blocks my workflows that create and update repos: creating a game repo from my template, builds in GitHub Actions, and new releases.
What happened instead?
The errors tell it to use a tool (add_repo) that doesn't exist in the session, and there is no other way to give the session access to a repo

The add_repo tool does exist. It's gated per account, not missing from Cowork. In #97926 I have two Max accounts on the same laptop, client and GitHub App install. On one, Cowork's claude-code-remote server exposes 9 tools, including list_repos, add_repo and register_repo_root, and push works. On the other it exposes only the 6 trigger tools, CLAUDE_CODE_SESSION_ORIGIN is unset, and the mode button reads "Chat and Cowork" instead of "Claude." Support suggested the broken account was never migrated to the merged Chat/Cowork interface.
If you're hitting this, could you check: (1) Does your mode button tooltip say "Chat and Cowork" or "Claude"? (2) Is CLAUDE_CODE_SESSION_ORIGIN set in your Cowork session? If your results match, a 👍 or a comment on #97926 would help show this is an account-rollout problem.
