[BUG] Desktop app (Windows): pointer lock doesn't work in the built-in browser pane #103216

Open

Description

@NALOlevrai

Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

In the Claude desktop app (Windows 11, Code tab), pages opened in the built-in browser pane can't use pointer lock: requestPointerLock() has no effect, so mouse look in a first-person WebGL game doesn't work.

The same pages work in the browser pane of the web version (claude.ai/code) and in Chrome.

What Should Happen?

Clicking the canvas locks the pointer, and mousemove events report movementX/movementY, like in the web version's browser pane.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In the Claude desktop app on Windows, open the built-in browser pane on MDN's pointer lock demo: https://mdn.github.io/dom-examples/pointer-lock/
  2. Click the canvas.
  3. Move the mouse.

Result: no pointer lock, the ball doesn't move.
The same steps in the claude.ai/code browser pane work.
