Solid 2 support for @tanstack/solid-pacer, set up as a pre-release line the way @tanstack/solid-query 6 and @tanstack/solid-router 2 were. It targets a solid-v2-pre branch, so main stays on Solid 1.
Note
Draft until @tanstack/solid-store 0.12.0-rc.0 (TanStack/store's Solid 2 line) is on npm. pnpm-lock.yaml isn't updated yet because it can't resolve that version. I tested against a local build of it.
The primitives keep their API. Each utility applies its options through a split render effect, createRenderEffect(mergedOptions, (latest) => utility.setOptions(latest)), which replaces the untrack inside a single-argument effect. Teardown is a plain onCleanup on the owner instead of an effect that only registered one.
The *Value primitives read their source's initial value untracked and relay later values with a two-argument effect. The *Signal primitives' signals allow writes from owned scopes, since timers and those effects write them, and keep a function value as a plain value (Solid 2's createSignal(fn) is a computed signal).
PacerProvider renders the Solid 2 context with createComponent instead of JSX, so the package peers only on solid-js (>=2.0.0-rc.19 <3.0.0).
The tests flush after writes. Provider tests now observe the rendered children the way a renderer does, because Solid 2 keeps the computations under unobserved children inert. The createComputed construction test uses a render effect's compute half instead.
The 26 Solid examples move to @solidjs/web, @solidjs/vite-plugin and Solid 2 APIs. Three examples drop the devtools panel, because @tanstack/solid-devtools and @tanstack/solid-pacer-devtools stay on Solid 1 until TanStack Devtools has a Solid 2 entry. A few handlers now call flush() between setting a signal and calling a utility whose enabled getter reads that signal: Solid 2 batches writes, so the getter would otherwise see the previous value. The changeset and installation docs explain this.
Changesets enters pre mode with the rc tag, and the release workflow also runs on *-pre branches. solid-pacer gets a minor bump (0.x), giving 0.25.0-rc.0. sherif ignores solid-js and @tanstack/solid-store, since the devtools packages stay on Solid 1.
Locally: @tanstack/solid-pacer tests 43/43, plus tsc, eslint, tsdown/publint, verify-package, knip, sherif, test:docs, test:projects and verify-example-e2e. Every Solid example passes tsc and vite build, and its Playwright e2e suite passes (66/66). Each one also ran in Chromium on the dev server with no console errors or Solid dev warnings, except createRateLimitedValue. There, Solid's dev build reports EFFECT_RELAY_TEAR while every write passes the limiter. That's a heuristic warning about the effect relay, which this primitive needs.
I have tested code changes locally with pnpm run test:pr, or these tests do not apply to this pull request.
I fully understand the code in this pull request, including any code generated with AI assistance.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
@tanstack/solid-pacer 0.25 and later now support Solid 2 release candidates. Solid 1 users should continue using version 0.24.
Bug Fixes
Improved reactive option updates and signal handling for Solid 2, including values that are functions.
Documentation
Updated installation guidance and examples for Solid 2. Solid Pacer Devtools remain limited to Solid 1 and are not currently available in Solid 2 apps.
Port @tanstack/solid-pacer and the Solid examples to solid-js 2.0
(rc.19+) and @tanstack/solid-store 0.12: options are applied by split
render effects, cleanup uses onCleanup on the owner, the *Value
primitives read their source's initial value untracked, the *Signal
signals allow owned-scope writes, and PacerProvider renders the Solid 2
context without JSX. Tests flush after writes and observe provider
children the way a renderer does. Examples drop the devtools panel
(still Solid 1) and flush before calling a utility whose options read a
signal they just set.
Enters changesets pre mode (rc) and lets the release workflow run on
*-pre branches. pnpm-lock.yaml is not updated yet: it needs
@tanstack/solid-store 0.12.0-rc.0 on npm.

Walkthrough
This pull request updates @tanstack/solid-pacer and its examples for Solid 2 release candidates. It changes adapter types and reactive handling, updates package tooling, and adds Solid version guidance and pre-release configuration.
Changes: Solid 2 compatibility
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Package and tooling compatibility packages/solid-pacer/package.json, package.json, packages/solid-pacer/tsconfig.json, packages/solid-pacer/tsdown.config.ts, packages/solid-pacer/vitest.config.ts
The package updates its Solid dependencies and peer range, JSX import source, and Vite plugin. The Sherif command excludes solid-js and @tanstack/solid-store.
Adapters use Element for child types, update options through source-based render effects, and register cleanup directly with onCleanup. PacerProvider uses createComponent. Tests add render mounting helpers and flush reactive updates.
Signal and value helpers packages/solid-pacer/src/debouncer/createDebouncedSignal.ts, packages/solid-pacer/src/debouncer/createDebouncedValue.ts, packages/solid-pacer/src/rate-limiter/createRateLimitedSignal.ts, packages/solid-pacer/src/rate-limiter/createRateLimitedValue.ts, packages/solid-pacer/src/throttler/createThrottledSignal.ts, packages/solid-pacer/src/throttler/createThrottledValue.ts
Signal helpers wrap function-valued initial values and enable owned writes. Value helpers read initial values untracked and use source-based effects to forward updates.
Examples migrate to Solid 2 release-candidate packages, @solidjs/web, and @solidjs/vite-plugin. Some examples also adjust signal initialization, flush reactive updates, change a lifecycle callback, or remove devtools components.
Release and installation guidance .changeset/*, .github/workflows/release.yml, docs/installation.md
The changeset config enables rc pre-release mode. The release workflow includes *-pre branches. Installation guidance distinguishes Solid 1 and Solid 2 support and describes devtools availability.
Update the lockfile before merging so frozen installations can succeed. Also clarify that devtools installation applies only to Solid 1; the Solid 2 prerelease branch configuration is consistent with the stated release plan.

Scope the Solid devtools install instruction to Solid 1.
Line 44 says the devtools adapter does not run on Solid 2 apps. Line 46 still tells every Solid reader to install it. Limit line 46 to Solid 1. Also review the unconditioned Solid package entries at lines 54-55.

Regenerate pnpm-lock.yaml after the Solid manifest changes.
The lockfile still records the Solid 1 dependencies for the changed examples. examples/solid/asyncBatch lists solid-js^1.9.15 and vite-plugin-solid, but its manifest now requires Solid 2 and @solidjs/vite-plugin. A frozen install rejects this mismatch. Run pnpm install locally and commit the updated pnpm-lock.yaml.
