- added localization support to many (but not ALL) places required to allow for extraction
- enabled Swift strings extraction compiler support in the project
- provided first-pass French translation/localization (almost assuredly could be better; I'm not a native speaker, but I figure it's much easier for later contributors to correct an existing set of strings than to attempt a full localization)
