Thanks!

I failed to notice the AfD thing atop WP:PAM.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 19:13, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, that's very interesting! We've been trying to help editors get to know the new process by updating all the new AfD pages, but personally I did not think an editor could accidentally land on PAM and follow that page's advice. Could you kindly describe in detail how you encountered WP:PAM and which sections you read? Did you have it bookmarked, did you get to it from Google Search, or from a wikilink we haven't updated yet? So we can help prevent this kind of mistakes in the future :) FaviFake (talk) 19:25, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ended up there via Google and followed everything from "Step 1" down.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 19:37, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Huh, thanks for letting me know! I've NOINDEXED it, it should be removed from Google search results in a few days. Do you think the page itself could be changed to better inform users who may be reading it quickly? Maybe collapsing the instructions? But that seems excessive. Do you have any ideas in mind? FaviFake (talk) 20:10, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Demoting the instructions one subsection with a header noting they are not to be followed should work.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 20:17, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps something like "For historical purposes only"?   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 20:20, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't that already there? All the steps from 1 to 5 are under the section § Historical merge proposal process. FaviFake (talk) 20:25, 1 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
