I think this section may benefit from including more intuitive description of the underlying logic of topic modeling, and what is the limitation of current topic modeling methods. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Linzhuoli (talkcontribs) 02:50, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Restructuring article

[edit]

Over the next few weeks, I will be restructuring the History, Topic models for context information, Algorithms, and Applications of topic models sections. Each section is either inaccurate (e.g. grouping LLMs and NMF under algorithms) or out of date. I will try to add distinct sections on each methodological approach (probabilistic, algebraic, neural, embedding-based, and now LLM-assisted).

I may try to incorporate dynamic and hierarchical models as well. The only complication is that dynamic topic models already have their own article. I may therefore either update that page in a similar fashion, include only brief references here, or consider whether a merge proposal would make sense.

I will make changes incrementally and welcome feedback on the proposed structure. I have already made edits to the lead if others would like to review it. Jacob Rampino (talk) 05:16, 12 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
