Nightreign Wiki Guide: A New Elden Ring Adventure
Nightreign Wiki is a collection of guides, articles, and information for FromSoftware and Bandai Namco's NEW Co-op Roguelike ARPG, Nightreign. The wiki will feature helpful guides for Boss Tactics, all the available weapons, armor sets, playable heroes, different builds, secrets, walkthrough for the main campaign, guides for new players, and more for Nightreign. Nightreign is an action game in which you take on overwhelming situations together with other players. In this title, which retains some of the enemies, weapons, and other elements of "ELDEN RING" but has been reconstructed with a completely different game design, players will control characters with different personalities and take on new threats.
Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02
What is Nightreign in Elden Ring?
Nightreign for Elden Ring is FromSoftware and Bandai Namco's new stand-alone ARPG that highlights not only a Single-player mode but also a co-op experience of up to three players. It is a game set within the universe or setting of Elden Ring that (might we say) features a "condensed" area of Limgrave where players will get to explore familiar areas, some new biomes, and emerge through a challenging and changing day-and-night cycle.
Nightreign Announced for 2025
A new standalone multiplayer co-op action survival game set in the ELDEN RING universe is on the horizon, inviting players to unite against the formidable Nightlord. This exciting title will immerse players in cooperative PVE battles within a brutal and relentless environment. Whether joining forces in teams of three or venturing out alone, players will need to endure a challenging three-day-and-night cycle, making quick choices about combat and exploration on a dynamic map. Their ultimate goal? To gather enough strength to confront and conquer fearsome bosses that await at the end of each day.
OFFICIAL NIGHTREIGN GAME DESCRIPTION ACCORDING TO BANDAI NAMCO
"Players take on the night together in an all-new experience from the team at FromSoftware. ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN will be a multiplayer-focused return to Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of ELDEN RING. Players must choose from eight unique characters, each with their own unique abilities and powerful Ultimates. Their journeys take them to Limveld, an ever-changing map, where they will have to make split-second decisions when it comes to combat and exploration in the face of a night cycle that shrinks the map with the coming Night’s Tide. At the end of each night, players will face a powerful boss and, if victorious, awaken to bigger challenges.
Each session will culminate in the third night when they must face off against the chosen Nightlord. Individuals can fight the night alone, but strength will come in numbers. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to take down these challenges, combining their unique abilities together for an unparalleled experience in the ELDEN RING universe. All is not lost for those who fall in defeat. Unsuccessful runs will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles."
"ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is unlike any experience created before by FromSoftware, Inc. In this condensed action RPG, players will never experience the same journey twice as enemies, rewards, and Limveld itself are ever-shifting and evolving each session. Defeating greater enemies and venturing into the more dangerous parts of the map will uncover more powerful weapons and greater Rune rewards. Find Sites of Grace to give each hero a chance to level up and gain crucial power.
With each session-based adventure being akin to playing through an open-air dungeon, every journey provides an opportunity to grow lasting stat bonuses. Successful runs against the night bring players ever closer to defeating the Nightlord and unraveling the story behind each Nightfarer in this parallel world." - BANDAI NAMCO

Deep of Night: New Content, Balances, and Improvements!
As the newly released DLC: Forsaken Hollows took the storm last December 4, 2025, Bandai then followed up with a new Deep of Night update, unleashing the Balancers and Dreglord as well as the Balancers' Everdark Sovereign variant. This also comes along with a few quality-of-life tweaks and improvements. The update focuses on expanding the late-game options for Deep of Night mode. Players are now able to encounter new targets, landmarks, points of interest, raid events, and Shifting Earth within the Deep of Night. With the new bosses in Deep of Night, it has now proven to be a more difficult mode for seasoned veterans. Additionally, for players who have unlocked the DLC, Heolstor the Nightlord now has more attacks from absorbing the Dreglord's ability. Players will now be able to see the Dreglord's skybox during the Heolstor expedition, totalling a number of 8.
NOTE: The new features and updates are only applicable to those who own the DLC: Forsaken Hollows. Players who get matched with non-DLC owners will not have access to the features and will only be able to play the pre-update version.

Aside from the new content for Deep of Night mode, the latest update includes a wide range of features and bug fixes. It has several UI and usability improvements, such as a stack count added to the Scholar’s damage‑negation reduction icon, along with balance adjustments like reduced attack power for wolves summoned during the Tricephalos raid. Numerous additional fixes have also been applied across the system. For the full list of adjustments and features included in this update, you can visit our updates section here.
Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows DLC
A new DLC for Elden Ring Nightreign was revealed during the State of Play Japan livestream, entitled "The Forsaken Hollows". This DLC is priced at US$15.00 and the DLC will release on December 4, 2025, for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam® digitally and at major game retailers.. The Forsaken Hollows DLC will include new content, such as 2 New Nightfarers, new Bosses, Points of Interest, and a new Shifting Earth. It is also expected that this DLC will include additions such as new Garbs (Skins), Relics, Vessels, Relics, potentially new Weapons, Spells, Remembrance Quests for the new Nightfarers, and more.
New Nightfarers Join the Expeditions!

The Forsaken Hollows will feature two new playable Nightfarers, the Scholar and Undertaker. The Scholar is described as an academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation, while the Undertaker is an abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency. These two Nightfarers will come equipped with new Nightfarer Skills to take on the Night's Tide, including new equipment such as starting Weapons and exclusive Garbs (Skins).
New Threats, Exploration, & Bonuses!
The Forsaken Hollows will add two new Night Lords, one of them known as the Dreglord, additional Field Bosses, new Points of Interest to discover, and a new Shifting Earth, the Great Hollow. The Great Hollow is described as a great cavity in the depths of Limveld.
The hollow is strewn with exotic ruins and temples; sacred towers denoting the remains of an ancient people; and crystals that exude a cursed, life-draining miasma. The Forsaken Hollows DLC will also include the Elden Ring Nightreign Digital Artbook and Mini Soundtrack for players who purchase The Forsaken Hollows DLC before its release.
Upcoming Update: Deep of Night Elden Ring Nightreign
Bandai Namco posted an announcement about the upcoming update that will affect Deep of Night runs after the reports were received about the Depth level and ranking not receiving adjustments after winning a run. The Deep of Night is an expedition mode that was released on September 11, 2025, which is a new game mode that features a high-difficulty run. This mode is created to challenge seasoned players who have survived Nightreign multiple times and have defeated Nightlords. The players who will participate in this game mode will unlock deeper levels, referred to as the Depth rating system, with each win granting them a progress towards Depth 5. It has been more than a week since Deep of Night was released, and the newest game mode is set to receive its first update.

Some of the changes that will be included in the upcoming patch include the following, according to a post by Bandai Namco:
- A new feature to decrease the player's Depth ranking by one level.
- Rank demotion protection: When reaching Depth levels 3, 4, and 5, you will be granted a rank loss demotion protection. This will prevent you from losing a Depth level after a defeat that would trigger this loss. The rank loss protection will be applied for 1 defeat for Depth level 3, and 2 defeats for Depth levels 4 & 5.
- This protection also applies even after reaching these levels again after a Depth level demotion.
- If a Depth level 1 player is matched with higher-ranking players during a Depth level 2+ expedition, the level 1 player will not lose points upon defeat.
- Steam players are now allowed to continue an ongoing session even if they get disconnected from the Steam servers that may be due to a Steam server maintenance or outage.
There's no confirmed date yet for the release of this patch, but it is expected to arrive in the coming week, or the weekend of 9/20.
Elden Ring Nightreign Deep of Night Mode
Deep of Night is an expedition mode that players can queue for, starting today, September 11, 2025. Deep of Night is a high-difficulty mode created to challenge seasoned players who have survived Nightreign multiple times. This new expedition mode introduces a new type of red enemies, red gear, and new Relics called Depths Relics, and powerful weapons with additional effects, at a cost of a negative effect. Lastly, Deep of Night also adds an "Endless Battle" mode, which becomes available upon reaching Depths 4 and 5.

What's New In Deep of Night Mode
Deep of Night mode aims to renew the player's experience by increasing the difficulty as well as modifying the Expeditions' core mechanics. Aside from the new Relics, Dormant Powers, and Mutant Enemies that players will encounter during the 3-day expedition, Deep of Night raises the difficulty by hiding the Night Lord expedition target, requiring players to prepare for any, and all of the available Bosses, including the Everdark Sovereign versions. In an article published on Bandai Namco's website, they confirmed that ongoing terrain changes like various Shifting Earths will be disabled during a Deep of Night run.
Deep of Night also tracks your progress, which depends on how well you performed in the previous run, which affects the "Depth" of the expedition, similar to a rank. As you play and win more games in the Deep of Night mode, you will increase your rank, which also increases the difficulty of your matches. Once you reach Depth 4 and 5, you will unlock a new feature called "Endless Battle".

The Deep of Night mode introduces a Depth rating system that serves as both a matchmaking tool and a difficulty-scaling mechanic in Nightreign. Each player is assigned a Depth rating, which increases upon successfully defeating a Nightlord during an expedition and is lowered whenever they fail an expedition. Once players have reached Depth 2, they can no longer return to Depth 1. This system ensures that players with similar ratings, meaning comparable levels of skill, are more likely to be matched together, creating balanced groups and reducing the chance of having mismatched parties.
Each run lasts about 40 minutes, depending on the party's skill level. Dying to the boss means that the party failed the run, and they will not get any depth progress. Depth progression takes about 5 completed (wins) runs, which takes about 3-4 hours to get to Depth 2. Players will also have the option to participate in an Endless Battle mode if their current Depth rating is either 4 or 5.
Depth 1: Rating 0-999
Depth 2: Rating 1000-1999
Depth 3: Rating 2000-3999
Depth 4: Rating 4000-5999
Depth 5: Rating 6000+
As the player's Depth rating increases, the Deep of Night expedition becomes progressively more challenging. Aside from enemies getting stronger, one of the most notable changes is that there is a chance for players to see the key locations on the map, making it difficult to navigate to areas that offer upgrades and progression to the players. This mechanic significantly increases the difficulty of exploring, especially if players are unfamiliar with the general flow of an expedition. Players must explore and adapt in real time without guaranteed access to upgrades and planning routes, making the Deep of Night challenging even to experienced Nightfarers.
All About Depths Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign
Depths Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign are special Relics that are only available in the Deep of Night mode. It grants 3 additional relic slots on top of the regular Relics that the Nightfarer possesses. Depths Relics also have their own color-coded slots, including their own version of the Deep Relics. There's also a new random relic called Deep Scenic Flatstone which is an item that you can purchase from the Small Jar Bazaar. It functions similar to the Scenic Flatstone which randomly generates a random Delicate, Polished, or Grand Depths Relics.

Elden Ring Nightreign 1.02 Patch Notes
Elden Ring Nightreign just dropped its latest patch, introducing new features like Duo Mode, Relic filtering, Maris Everdark Sovereign event, and bug fixes. The Duo Mode is a new feature that lets players queue a game with a party of two, with adjustments to the boss difficulty and health scaling that are fit for a 2-player mode. The new Filter option in Nightreign now lets the player sort all relics according to Stats like Strength, Dexterity, and even Characteristics (color-coding) like Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Size Small, Medium, and Large. This new feature also lets the player set relics to "Favorites" to easily equip the most used Relics in their Inventory. This new feature can be accessed easily by pressing the Left Stick or the "4" key while in the Relic Rites menu. Additionally, players now have the option to sell and favorite the newly acquired Relics in the rewards and purchasing menus.

The latest Patch Notes for Elden Ring Nightreign will also bring bug fixes to address issues like Ironeye's character Skill, Revenant's backstab animation being prioritized over summoning Family Member, the bug where the Ultimate Art Gauge would fill up when the first spirit summoned by Revenant dies, and many more fixes. Aside from these, it is also expected that the new event, Maris Everdark Sovereign will also reveal new moves compared to its standard version, just like the other Everdark Sovereign variants. Upon defeating the boss, players will also unlock new Relics that can be purchased from the Collector Signboard at the Roundtable Hold.
Duo Expeditions in Elden Ring Nightreign Coming July 30
On June 3, 2025, it was announced that Elden Ring: Nightreign will be getting a DLC that will be releasing later this year. Although that is still in development, they have also announced that Duo Expeditions will be released. The new Patch Notes 1.02 will be coming out on July 30, which will not only include the Quality of Life improvements, such as Relics filtering options, but also allow players to go on Duo Expeditions.

Before departing on an expedition, you can change the Expedition Type and set it to Duos, along with having the other options like Multiplayer and Single Player still being there for you if you still prefer the standard 3-player party or a solo expedition. For now, here are a few methods you can use to play Duos while waiting for the update.
Completing Separate Objectives
Although you are still queuing as a full part of 3, 2 players can still split from the group and fulfill the expedition objectives separately. Discuss and communicate to the third player regarding your arrangement and set up for the expedition so they can progress through their objectives on their own, or choose to leave.
1 Disconnecting Player
When matchmaking with a third player and if they decide to leave, you and your partner will still be able to continue the expedition with just the both of you as a duo set up. The expedition difficulty will still scale up to a 3 player party, which will make having 1 less player be slightly more challenging, but is not harder than a solo run. So you can decide if you and your partner will want to take on this challenge.
Nightreign Updates: More Everdark Sovereign Bosses Coming July 31

Elden Ring: Nightreign is scheduled to release a new set of Everdark Sovereign bosses on July 31. The Libra, Creature of Night, is one of the Nightlords that is scheduled to reveal its Everdark Sovereign version on the next patch. Based on what we know so far, the Equilibrious Beast will also be joined by the 3 remaining Nightlords, which are Augur, Fissure in the Fog, and Tricephalos. Previously, FromSoftware revealed a new Everdark Sovereign boss on a weekly schedule. Each boss was revealed individually, and their expeditions were available for a week or two, and after their event expires, it will be replaced by a new Everdark Sovereign duo. It's still unconfirmed whether the developers will continue this weekly format or if they plan to reveal all new bosses in the same week.
The previously released Everdark Sovereign versions of these Nightlords brought out a new challenge for the players. The difficulty level was raised, and players set out to hunt these new bosses to claim unique rewards to boost their permanent progress, like acquiring new currency to unlock more Relic. The upcoming Everdark Sovereign is expected to have the same mechanic, but what's most interesting at this point is the "bargain ability" of the Equilibrious Beast, if there will be new deals to be made with the lord of balance, and what are the changes that these new bosses will have once their expeditions are released.
NEW BOSS and Time-Limited Events: Everdark Sovereign in Nightreign

FromSoftware, the developers of Nightreign, previously hinted that they're working on additional and more challenging Bosses in the game. The new upcoming Everdark Sovereign events reintroduces Everdark Sovereign bosses that come as pairs, this encounter will be available starting 10 July until 31 July. Sharing the same mechanic as previous Everdark Sovereign events, once the timer expires for the paired bosses, a new pair will be replaced.
The new schedule for the Everdark Sovereign will be as follows:
- July 10 - July 17: Gaping Jaw & Darkdrift Knight
- July 17 - July 24: Sentient Pest & Darkdrift Knight
- July 24 - July 31: Gaping Jaw & Sentient Pest
Other familiar Everdark Sovereign Bosses will also appear, such as Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog. These bosses may also be released as pairs; however, their schedules are still unknown and will be updated when more information is available.
The Everdark cycle continues, and the Night grows deeper still.
This expedition shares the same description and weakness as its standard version. However, the Everdark Sovereign has deadlier moves and has increased power. Players are reporting that the Everdark Sovereign has moves that use massive tornadoes that can affect nearly the entire arena, making it nearly impossible to dodge. Players are claiming that this is one of the most difficult bosses that's currently in Nightreign, and we're expecting that this version will have higher stats and more health than its standard version. Defeating this boss will drop a Dark Night of the Baron and Sovereign Sigil (new currency).
Confirmed Nightreign DLC and Improvements
A Nightreign DLC has officially been announced for release later this year, generating excitement and speculations within the community. While FromSoftware has yet to reveal a specific release date, early details hint at substantial additions, such as new areas, challenging new bosses, and expansions to the game's lore. However, players won't have to wait for the DLC to enjoy major improvements, as key updates are scheduled to begin rolling out as early as this June.
One of the first changes arriving this month is the overhaul of existing Nightlord encounters. These powerful bosses are some of the game's most iconic and intense bosses, but several have been plagued by balancing issues and AI bugs. For instance, the Night Aspect can sometimes become non-functional when only one player remains in the fight, breaking the immersion and flow of combat. FromSoftware has confirmed that these fights will receive a major rebalancing, speculated to be more polished mechanics, updated attack strings, and improved AI behavior. These changes aim to make encounters more engaging, fair, and for the intended difficulty of the Nightlords, especially for solo players who are finding it an unfair challenge.

Another highly requested feature, Duo Expeditions, has finally been confirmed for future implementation. Currently, players are limited to solo or three-player Expeditions, which has discouraged those who prefer two-player co-op. Additionally, many Expedition mechanics seem to be balanced in the context of a three-player party, making solo runs feel unbalanced. Duo Expeditions promises to fill this gap, offering an Expedition tailored to two players, greatly enhancing players' experience.
News from Nightreign Overview Trailer
Limveld in Elden Ring Nightreign
Limveld was once a country that used to thrive by the power of gods, but is now slowly being eroded by the night. Players have the role to hunt the Nightlords starting as a level 1 character, and increase their level gradually by swiftly navigating through Limvale within the limited time of 3 days to level up their character, and obtain high-level gear that scales with their attributes.

Players can choose to go through bases to obtain treasures, weapons, gear, and also maps that contain more information, or challenge enemies and go through fortresses to obtain rewarding loot. Other than the route, players may also chose to go together as a unit or split up to gather intel on their own. However, each time a player enters Limveld, it is different. Features such as enemy groups, chests, and bases will change each time. There may be other interruptions in the field, such as a sudden meteor strike or an enemy ambush. The environment may have other changes, such as a volcanic eruption or a forest coated with rot. This will lead players to make decisions on the spot each time they visit Limveld to ensure their survivability throughout the journey.
Spending Murk in Elden Ring Nightreign
Murk can be earned as battle rewards while players are out in Limveld. Murk can be used to purchase wares that the Small Jar Bazaar sells, who is located in the corner of the back room of the Roundtable Hold. Once Murk is accumulated, interact with the jar merchant to check his wares for items that may be of use to make upgrades or make interacting with other players easier.

The fitting mirror can be used to unlock costumes with Murk to change the outfits of the Nightfarers. While some costumes are new and suited to each Nightfarer, some costumes are taken from the base game, Elden Ring. These costumes are only for cosmetic purposes and is only used to enhance the appearance to suit a players' aesthetic and does not make any contributions in combat or provide any buffs to the players.

Enemies at Night in Elden Ring Nightreign
While players encounter powerful enemies on their journey in the day, they will see the real threat at night. There will be large enemies that are inevitable to encounter. As a group, take out the strong foes and aid each other in battle when one falls. Having a Nightfarer that performs ranged attacks while another performs close combat will make it easier to figure out their positions as ranged attacks can also help other players when they fall.

Nightfarer Lore in Elden Ring Nightreign
As players go through their days in Limveld, fragments of memory will return to provide information on the Nightfarer. Recovering more fragments of lost memory will help players understand their characters and other Nightfarers better. These fragments of lost memory will show players conversations between other Nightfarers and residents of the Roundtable, they will also provide new hidden objectives that a player can do while in Limveld. Completing hidden objectives will reveal more information on the Nightfarer's origins and purposes.

Nightlords in Elden Ring Nightreign
The Nightlords are powerful bosses that await players on the final day in Limveld. Players can prepare for this moment by strategically planning their route through Limveld to level up their attributes, and search for equipment that scales with their attributes to make the most out of their equipment and make them stronger.

Libra, Creature of Night, a Nightlord recently revealed, is a new boss with several unique attacks. Before fighting it, you can either accept or refuse a deal with the Scale-bearing Merchant, who offers several buffs that can be used by the player at a cost.
New! Nightreign Ironeye Nightfarer Announced!
During the latest gameplay trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign, Bandai Namco and From Software revealed Ironeye, a ranged-focused Nightfarer designed to provide precision damage and vital support from a distance. Ironeye begins each run equipped with a bow, immediately establishing them as a long-range specialist. Their core stat is Dexterity, which enhances their effectiveness with ranged weapons and supports a fast, agile playstyle.
Ironeye’s primary role in a party is that of a Ranged DPS/Support hybrid, capable of thinning enemy ranks from the backline while offering critical utility to their team. One of the standout mechanics highlighted in the trailer is their ability to revive downed allies from a distance. This feature gives Ironeye a unique edge in cooperative play, allowing them to maintain pressure on enemies while still supporting teammates without repositioning dangerously.
The trailer also showcased Ironeye’s ultimate ability—a powerful, charged arrow that pierces through multiple enemies in a straight line. This attack provides strong AoE damage and is ideal for clearing groups of enemies or dealing heavy damage to lined-up targets. While primarily designed for ranged combat, Ironeye can also hold their own up close, with animations revealing quick melee slashes and even a cinematic backstab, where they pull an arrow from an enemy for a critical strike.

Nightreign Elden Ring: Everything We Know So Far
As Night Falls, We Rise.
ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is a standalone adventure within the ELDEN RING universe, crafted to bring a new gaming experience. Join forces with other players to take on the creeping night and the dangers within.
What We Learned from Nightreign Network Test
Elden Ring Nightreign Weapons
Weapons that you pick up in Nightreign have scaling, the effect of each weapon may vary depending on your character. These weapons scale with different stats and characters that peak in that stat will deal more damage, however, it is not restricted to a single character. Having status effects on your weapons such as Bleed or Frostbite makes defeating bosses much quicker compared to the bosses in the base game of Elden Ring.

Weapons also have passive weapon effects that are randomized on a set of weapons, however, the percentage of effectiveness may increase if the weapon has a higher rank.
Elden Ring Nightreign Map Locations
On the map, you can find Stonesword Keys that can be used at Gaols to encounter a boss. However, these bosses do not drop any loot, instead, a Grace will spawn on the Gaol. To some players, it may feel useless to take out these bosses as they do not drop any equipment but in some cases, having a Grace nearby when needed can be good when carrying a lot of Runes or in need of a flask refill.
Another location is caves, they help you get from one area to another simply by going through it and exiting out the other side. Inside, you can find enemies and sometimes pick up smithing stones inside. Otherwise, based on the Network Test, there are no boss encounters inside caves. Another downside is when the nightreign is closing in, there is only so much space for you and a linear direction for you to run in.
During the Network Test, there is only one map where you spawn on the upper left corner or the lower right corner of the map. Having more maps or changing up the key locations within the maps would increase the play rate of the game.

Boss Drops in Nightreign Elden Ring
When you open the map, you can see elemental icons on the location icons, these icons show the type of weapons a boss may drop if you defeat the boss in that area and may predict the type of boss that you may encounter. Such as, if you see a fire icon on an encampment icon on the map, there is a high chance that you will encounter a Flame Chariot that will drop a fire-infused weapon. Another instance is if you defeat a Sanguine Noble, it may drop a blood-infused weapon. This allows you to optimally get a weapon that fits your build and that is based on the relics you set for your character. Another discovery is that the dragon bosses drop higher-ranking weapons, so when you encounter a dragon on your run, it is recommended to defeat the dragon to loot the weapon they drop.

Elden Ring Nightreign Game Mechanics
The mechanics of the pins work really well in Nightreign as they are small yet efficient, the pins are color-coordinated per player so you are aware of who has pinned what and see their intentions to explore what area. If you place a pin on another player's pin, it turns white to show confirmation or agreement to explore that location.

Party composition does not matter too much in the sense that players can choose to play any character regardless if someone else has chosen that character as well. It does not affect the gameplay and it shows that regardless if there are repeated characters or not, there are still chances to win.
Nightreign Insights into Development from Recent Interview
In a recent interview with game director Junya Ishizaki, several key details about Elden Ring Nightreign were revealed, offering fans a deeper understanding of the game’s development and how it builds upon the legacy of Elden Ring. Nightreign is a spin-off set in the same world as Elden Ring, taking place in a parallel universe that diverges after the Fracture War. The game shares some thematic and gameplay elements with the original, but it introduces a new narrative and unique gameplay mechanics designed to offer players a fresh experience.
One of the most striking differences between Elden Ring and Nightreign is the structure of the game. While Elden Ring offers a vast, open world with free exploration, Nightreign takes a more structured approach, focusing on a condensed RPG experience. The game is divided into three in-game days, each lasting approximately 40 minutes. This design choice stems from the desire to create a "condensed RPG," where players can experience a complete and balanced narrative and gameplay arc within a shorter time frame. The three-day cycle adds a sense of urgency and excitement, while also allowing the game to maintain a meaningful progression system that focuses on challenges, victories, and losses.
One of the central features of Nightreign is its emphasis on cooperative gameplay. While solo play is still an option, the game is specifically designed for three-player co-op, with no two-player mode available. Ishizaki explained that the decision to focus on a three-player setup was made to create a unique cooperative experience that feels distinct from the original Elden Ring and other FromSoftware games. This structure ensures that each player faces meaningful challenges while contributing to a dynamic and cohesive multiplayer experience. During development, the team found that three players struck the perfect balance, allowing the game to maintain its challenging nature while offering a cooperative environment where players can support each other.
The game also introduces several mechanics designed to enhance replayability and progression. A key element in Nightreign is the concept of "Relics." These items, which can be collected during playthroughs, permanently strengthen characters and provide significant advantages. Relics can be acquired through repeated playthroughs, allowing players to build and improve their characters over time. This system offers a form of progression that doesn’t rely on difficulty settings, as Nightreign stays true to FromSoftware’s commitment to creating challenging experiences that require skill, practice, and perseverance. For new players, the inclusion of Relics provides a gradual progression system to help them grow more powerful and prepare for tougher challenges.
In addition to the Relics, Nightreign features a currency system called "Marks." Marks can be used to purchase Relics, as well as cosmetic items like gestures and skins. This currency can be earned during gameplay and spent at the Roundtable Hold.
Another notable feature in Nightreign is the dynamic map system. Unlike traditional RPGs where new maps are unlocked as the game progresses, Nightreign keeps the map static, but changes are made to it dynamically based on randomization. For example, weapons, items, and boss types in large bases will change between playthroughs, making each experience feel unique. This randomization also ties into an asynchronous network feature that allows players to inherit weapons and items used by other players.
Another major change is that minor enemies do not respawn between days. Once a small enemy is defeated, it remains dead for the rest of the playthrough, even if the player rests or uses blessings. This allows players to progress through areas without having to worry about constantly facing respawning enemies.
The Elden Ring series is known for its deep lore and intricate world-building, and Nightreign is no exception. The game features eight playable characters, each with a unique backstory that players can uncover through in-game records and narrative elements. These characters each specialize in different combat styles, including tanks with high damage resistance and wizards capable of long-range magic attacks. While some of these character types are familiar to fans of fantasy RPGs, there are also unique characters that add an element of surprise and excitement to the gameplay. More character details will be revealed in future updates.
In terms of player interactions, Nightreign retains the ability to see the ghosts of other players, a feature from Elden Ring. However, the ability to leave messages has been removed. This decision was made to streamline the game’s experience, as each session lasts about 40 minutes, leaving little time for players to write and read messages. The focus is instead placed on gameplay and cooperation, ensuring that players can remain immersed in the action without distractions.
While many modern games are incorporating live-service features such as PvPvE and battle royale modes, Nightreign is not following this trend. The game is being developed as a standalone, one-time purchase experience, focused on cooperative gameplay and the joy of overcoming challenges with others. Ishizaki expressed confidence that the game’s fun, rewarding experience would resonate with players, regardless of market trends surrounding live-service titles.
Nightreign is designed to be a highly replayable game, with bosses and encounters that may change based on player decisions and actions. Although details are still being finalized, there are ongoing discussions about having bosses reappear after being defeated, becoming stronger and more challenging each time.
Eight Playable Heroes in Nightreign
According to a recent announcement from Bandai Namco, Elden Ring's Nightreign will introduce EIGHT unique playable Heroes, each equipped with their own special abilities and formidable ultimate moves. The excitement among fans has been palpable since the reveal of Nightreign, prompting us to dig deeper for more insights into what awaits us in the game. So far, we've confirmed four characters, with two more hinted at. One of these heroes possesses the power to manipulate earth, allowing them to raise a rock pillar to gain a tactical advantage against foes. The other character is a Summoner, capable of calling upon Spirit Ashes to aid in battle.

Wylder
A young man long in pursuit of the Nightlord. This swordsman has defied death at every turn with his stunning sixth sense for combat. He swore to avenge the Night in the name of his massacred tribe. His attributes are balanced throughout maturation, With excellent HP, strength, and dexterity. Able to command all types of melee weapons.

Nightreign Game Mechanics
Nightreign Game Key Features
- Rise Together: Join forces with other players to take on the creeping night and the dangers within featuring 3-player co-op.
- Become a Hero: Take command of uniquely skilled heroes, each possessing their own abilities and distinct flair. While individually formidable, their skills create powerful synergies when they unite as a team.
- Take on the Night: Overcome a relentless environmental threat that sweeps through a land that changes between each game session and defeat the magnificent boss of that night!
Do I Need to Own Elden Ring to Play Nightreign?
No, Nightreign is a stand-alone premium-priced game, it is not Free-to-Play, and players do not need to have the base game, Elden Ring, to play Nightreign. It is also noteworthy to mention that Nightreign will not have battle passes or microtransactions and all content will be available from the start.
How does Loot & Equipment Work in Nightreign?
FromSoftware approaches the loot and equipment system differently in Nightreign. For each run, enemies and bosses that players encounter and defeat will drop randomized loot, there are also tons of chests and breakable structures where players can also find items. Normal or Regular items that players find are shared between players, and they can freely grab whatever item they loot. However, the more valuable or rare drops that can be acquired from defeating bosses are not shared.
- Loot are categorized into different color-coded rarity (much like Diablo)
- There doesn't seem to be an equip load or weight management.
- Simplified inventory system unlike in Elden Ring. An example is players can still dual wield weapons but they can only hold and store up to 3 weapons on each hand. What's interesting about this is that for the weapons you have equipped on each hand, the passive effects of those weapons will remain active.
- Players can have their character freely equip any type of weapon, making it easier to build your arsenal on the fly and quickly adapt to what lies ahead.
- When defeating bosses, players will have options of what rewards they'll receive for emerging victorious against the formidable foe.
The Roundtable Hold Returns
Nightreign will still include a form of game progression through character or NPC story development. In Nightreign, players will get to travel to an "alternate" version of the Roundtable Hold. Just like in Elden Ring, the Roundtable Hold will serve as the main hub within Nightreign where players can meet and chat with NPCs, make use of various upgrade systems and additional features like accessing training grounds to familiarize themselves with combat and practicing the use of abilities.
- Speak to NPCs at the Roundtable Hold
- Use a Training Yard to test out combat and abilities
- Find Merchant Shops and Stations for customization
Combat & Character Progression in Nightreign
As seen in the reveal trailer, Nightreign is a faster (turbo) paced version of Elden Ring. Characters in Nightreign sprint faster, and mobility/movement is enhanced, characters can mount short walls and even wall-run. A magical spectral hawk also allows players to fly or glide vertically, and Nightreign doesn't have fall damage. As far as Character or Level Progression, here is what we know so far:
- For each run or session, players will start at Level 1
- There will be no individual stats and leveling is simplified automatically
- If players die, they will lose a level and drop their runes which can still be recovered
- There will be no difficulty options
- Defeating bosses rewards players with upgrades for their character
- There are Relics that are similar to Bloodborne's Blood Stones. These are color-coded slots that provide character improvements, it is useful for different builds, and Relics are rewarded in both completed and failed sessions.
Boss Weaknesses
In the finished version of Elden Ring Nightreign, players will have the ability to identify boss weaknesses before setting out. If a boss is especially vulnerable to poison, you can tailor your run by prioritizing loot that increases your supply of poison-based tools and weapons. This mechanic encourages strategic planning, rewarding those who adapt to the evolving challenges of each playthrough. Knowing your enemy and exploring their vulnerabilities can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
However, bosses in Nightreign are designed to adapt over time, so your go-to tactics may work early on, but may not at a later stage, making methods less effective. This dynamic system forces you to stay flexible while also keeping a new playthrough fresh for players.
New Mechanics for Nightreign
Based on the reveal trailer that was shown during the 2024 Game Awards, here are some aspects spotted in the trailer footage and some other noteworthy features to expect in the game:
- Single-player or Co-op of up to 3 players!
- A magical spirit-like bird that is used as a glider to fly in the air.
- Choose and take control of one of the 8 characters with "different personalities".
- Each character will have its own unique Abilities and powerful Ultimates.
- New and returning enemies and NPCs
- Epic and Challenging Boss Battles.
- The Nameless King returns!
- New Items, Equipment, Armor Sets, and Magical Spells.
- Return to Limgrave and experience an alternate yet familiar "condensed" version of Elden Ring's main area.
- New combat mechanics such as running on walls?!? And even more!!!
- Fluid inputs when it comes to movement and combat. Faster and Agile gameplay experience.
- A world that "reshuffles".
- Players who join Co-op do not seem to follow the traditional concept of teaming up online such as using a consumable item to summon the spirit of the player to the host's world. More on this once details are revealed!
Near Death State and Revival
When a player's HP drops to zero, they enter a Near Death state. In this state, a gauge appears on the downed player, movement speed is reduced, and all actions except for basic movement are disabled. If the timer runs out around the gauge, the downed player dies.
Teammates can revive a downed player by attacking them before the timer around the gauge runs out. When the player is attacked by a teamate, the gauge will go down, and the downed player will be revived when all the partitions in the gauge have been depleted. However, if the revival is interrupted, the gauge will begin to slowly regenerate, gradually resetting the progress. If left unattended for too long, the process to revive must be started over.
Each time a player is downed, a partition will be added to the gauge, making future revivals more difficult. This penalty can be removed by resting at a Site of Grace.
Game Structure of Nightreign
The game is structured around a 3-day cycle, with each day taking approximately 15 minutes to complete. At the beginning of the day, players have the freedom to explore in any direction, gather equipment, and quickly level up their characters. However, as night approaches, the dynamics shift dramatically; combat encounters become more intense, the environment transforms, and players must prepare to face a boss before ending the day and moving onto the succeeding days. Whether tackling this challenge solo or with a team, those who succeed will earn valuable unique items. This cycle of day and night continues until players confront the primary bosses of Nightreign that build and lead to the game's grand finale.
Map & Locations in Nightreign
The layout of Nightreign's map is somewhat "static" where players will come across a feeling of exploring familiar but new areas of an alternate version of Limgrave called "Limveld". Players can explore locations such as caves, towers, forts, jail locations, and ruins. Structures will seem to remain as where it is located across the map, however, as players progress and complete their runs, modifiers, and surprises will appear and change certain aspects of the explorable areas, making each run interesting and keeping all the players on their toes as they are faced against unpredictable characteristics. Some of those elements that change include:
- Enemies and Bosses
- Locations of items like weapons
- Environmental Modifiers
- A playable area that shrinks, known as "Night's Tide" and/or "Ring of Reign"
- Environmental modifiers are said to be tied to character stories
- Special Environmental Events like the impact of meteors, swarms of giant ants, and volcanic eruptions.
How Will Multiplayer Work in Nightreign?
Nightreign is primarily centered around the 3-player co-op experience, there will be no PvP elements and no option for 2-player. However, players can choose to play solo with scaled difficulty. There will be no cross-platform play but it will support cross-gen play for PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox One/Series X|S users.
Communicating with your teammates is shaping up to be straightforward. There will be a map pinging system, Gestures will be available, and there will be no text chat, but there will be an external voice chat that is optional. When it comes to the elements of combat with your party, here is what we know so far:
- Acquiring runes are shared
- Players can revive incapacitated allies by hitting them

Anonymous5 months no new content, they have to be planning something for the game's first anniversary, right? A man can only hope.

AnonymousThe classes are such a good spin on the formula I think I kinda legit don't understand why that wasn't a thing in vanilla elden ring, other than that, honestly I wish that I'd never bothered with this game, multiplayer focused souls games never really worked imo, I mean, there's a reason why this game has no PvP mode.

AnonymousFromsoft is sitting on a literal gold mine and doing nothing with it. Imagine if they made more maps, more shifting earths like raya lucaria or leyndell, added sote weapons, more pois, more souls and elden ring bosses, maybe 2 new nightfarers and nightlords, and finally dropped everdark heolstor and traitorous straghess. Free content or dlc, I'll take it. I literally want to give them my money to add more to the game because it has so much potential to be so great and maximize its replay value with so much variety but they just won't.

AnonymousPLEASE ISHIZAKI, IT'S BEEN 4 MONTHS WE NEED MORE CONTENT. EVERDARK HEOLSTOR, EVERDARK DREGLORD, I DON'T CARE IF YOU MAKE ANOTHER DLC, I'LL BUY IT, I JUST NEED SOMETHING TO KEEP THE GAME ALIVE PLEASE

AnonymousOnly thing that would get me to come back to this game is if they add a Duchess barefeet skin update

AnonymousBoy howdy do I like Nightreign, and yet Fromsoft won't give me more Nightreign. I want to give them my money. Truly a dilemma.

Anonymoustake a shot anytime you find Peak or Absolute cinema in these comments.

AnonymousThis game makes me want to learn Chinese so I can find who these griefers I mach up with are and report them to the Chinese government and lower their social credit score

AnonymousElden Ring Night Reign was my first souls game , which on shud i do next?

AnonymousImo you SHOULD be able to request weapons from other teammates while it's in their inventory.
I'm playing as Raider and it kills me inside when i see classes like rev/duchess with axe of godrick/godfrey and i can't do anything about it.
Anonymousthis is a good roguelike for people who have never played a roguelike before, but this is the worst roguelike ive ever played lol

Anonymousplaying as third in a duo stack in deep of night is probably the most miserable gaming experience possible. they will not drop you anything, help you fight anything, or acknowledge you exist, until they're both downed at 3 bar and its up to you to carry them with your blue tier poison warped axe you found on day 1. PLEASE, if you insist on running as a duo in trios, treat them like a person and not an npc.

AnonymousThe silver lining about the cheater epidemic is that they're usually pretty bad and have fragile egos. Let em go down and give them a few claps and point downs. They'll leave soon after. If you're a cheater reading this: please play solo or not at all. I don't care what your justifications are. I don't want to have the game played for me by people carried by their relics.

AnonymousI wish "variant" mobs in DoN were more varied, in a similar vein to Binding of Isaac champion enemies/Risk of Rain elite enemies.

Anonymoustoo many casuals started playing the game on winter sale, I suggest you casuls stop playing DoN and keep playing the normal runs to git gud, you drag us all down!

AnonymousThe fact that I didn't even know that a DLC for this game was planned, and I've religiously played all Souls from games since 09 should tell you how much of a complete void this "game" really is.

AnonymousThe DLC is good but i don't think having 6 hours lesbian scene between Recluse and Undertaker is necessary tho.

AnonymousI hope the "and more" stuff from the dlc includes a foot rubbing mini game with Recluse. I would forgive no new map if that's the case.

AnonymousThis game gotta have the most autistic fans in the entire souls extended franchise, and that's saying a lot considering that it spans the entire sequel factory of Demon's Soul's weird parthenogenetic style of mutated copycats.

AnonymousSomeone at from dead ass thought: Why not focusing on what's consistently the WORST part of our games? And this was the result, tbh, it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, it's not good either though.

Anonymous
AnonymousMaybe next time Fromsoft, learn to implement something with some insight on multiplayer behavior and reception before you just dump something with a completely ass backwards points system that takes 800 points off you for leaving your own game when people leave you stranded with no wending graces or auto revive, while in solo you can quit out and retry with no penalty.
There sure was some thought put into this, really feels like the new mode isn't rushed garbage with no consideration for the players time or any idea on how to set up basic parameters that prevent griefing without punishing and demotivating everyone, well done Ishizaki.
AnonymousBoy did people turned on Nighteign faster than they did with Starfield, although probably it has a lot more in common with Fallout 76 more than anything else.

AnonymousBethesda gives a flat multiplier as difficulty increases, and that's panned as a lazy way to artificially increase difficulty, From does the exact same and I see almost nobody complain.
Moral of the story? We live in a society or something, I guess

AnonymousI don't think ive seen a game with more braindead cheaters, like, lacking basic understanding of videogames level braindead. I played a game with an ironeye with super cheated relics (marais passive, extra lives, all the fixings) and got downed 36 TIMES, probably 10 of those were against the nightlord alone (everdark marais).

AnonymousGot to Depth 4 with randoms yesterday and I have to say I'm done with this mode. It was a great new addition to the game, up to this point, but now ED Nightlords will literally one shot you with one of their basic attacks and Depth 5 looks like a no-hit run experience even for day bosses which I'm not a fan of.
I will lock myself on Depth 3 when the option comes out, but even then this mode is a rehash of their already rehashed content. We need MORE enemies and weapons FromSoft, you're sitting on a million unused assets just from base Elden Ring + DLC alone.
The DLC needs VOLUMES of truly new content and randomization, otherwise we're just kidding ourselves over here.

Anonymousdeep of night is lazy design. Just a health and damage multiplier. No extra runes to make up for it. JFC when will from learn how to make difficulty interesting.

AnonymousIf you beat the game solo after the first patch then no you didnt. They made the game baby easy mode by giving you 5 wending graces per run and a free revive. U absolutely have not beat the game if u didnt do it before day 3 of the game being out

Anonymous
AnonymousThis has been an issue off and on since launch, but the Evergoal roads who *refuse* to do anything besides b line from on ever goal to the next is killing the cooperative element of this game.

AnonymousWould be cool if the game had a huge random generated castle with tons of different themes (basically any DS game). But this time you need to fight through enemies and bosses to the top as a single player or with friends/randoms. When you're at the top, you will be in space, meteors, planets and galaxies collide while waves of random bosses spawn and you have to survive. I would like that. Yeah, I would like that.

AnonymousNightreign is overall a very interesting and experimental twist on the FromSoft formula, and I'm glad that we got to see "Fortnite Elden Ring" and what is has to offer, both good and bad. Overall, a surprisingly successful concept that was always doubted from day one of its conception. Bringing up its weakest points, and starting with the most egregious one, the game cycle itself. An entire run takes, on average, about 40 minutes, and that's if you're successful and beat the assigned nightlord. You have to spend a lot of time, resources, attention and even some RNG to have just a chance at facing the nightlord and learning from it, studying its attacks, knowing its movement rhythm, and if you mess that up, you gotta start the whole run again. In older FromSoft titles, this game cycle is a short or long as you make it, you can leave a tough boss that you keep dying on and head in a complete other direction, OR, you can persist and really study its attacks and movements, the choice was yours. In Nightreign, there is no choice, you have to make do with not only with the buffs and gear you have, but the knowledge you have, too. The dedication to a whole run is also a little souring. On one hand I enjoy gradually building up power, taking down boss after boss, and that rush of dopamine when you make a good call for yourself in solos or for the whole group in teams (picking an easy field boss that has good drops). It gives the player a sense of momentum when they face-off against the nightlord. But that being said, that's a lot of time where, be it utter failure (or god forbid, random teammates ragequitting, or straight-up dropping connection) all your efforts, smart decisions and good RNG just disappear, with your efforts in vain. That's true to the rogue-like / roguelite experience, but it seems a little extreme for a game where it borrows heavily from that old FromSoft formula, and RNG has a minority contribution to your success. Funnily enough, when it comes to "procedually generated" adventures and runs, Bloodborne actually did this better. If you didn't like how things where going, you could leave halfway, come back to that dungeon, or just cut your losses and make another chalice. You could sent co-opers back to their world when you beat the boss, and summon them back in when your were ready to start again. You could take the treasures from the dungeon into the main world, and vice versa, and even select your difficulty. Nightreign should have borrowed more from Bloodborne's Chalice Dungeons (aside from its obvious balancing drawbacks). Lastly for the downsides: The map, of which there is only one (no, shifting earth events don't count). I can almost guarantee that this game would be improved if there were more map areas with there own vastly unique layout, even if that meant less variety between the seeds within each map itself. I had anticipated at least three completely unique map layouts total (Limgrave, Liurnia and Caelid, perhaps?), but I was wrong. It really would've kept player on their toes and encouraged more exploration in an engaging way. On the positive, and the part I'm most engaged with is, the nightfarers. They're probably the biggest carry when it comes to Nightreign. My only complaints is that the spread and choice of characters should leave no gaps in game mechanics. An example of this is curved greatswords; who wants a buff for curved GSs if no character takes advantage of that? An "evolution tree" of sorts would cover this, and with the Executor, this was practically the case, where you could invest on buffs and stones that focus on status effects, or go all-in on his character skill and play Sekiro-style. The other nightfarers should've had this level of depth to them; probably more even. The remembrances too, some people call them tedious, but I kind-of liked them, and the largest drawback is the fact that, once again, you have to invest and entire run (or half a run, and then just forfeit?) to run through a chapter of their story, when these story beats should have been more accessible to begin with. All in all, I'm glad we all got to see how this kind of game formula works. At what we've seen so-far with Duskbloods, that game already appears to cover more than half of my concerns that I've listed here, and I do hope they learn from the drawback of Nightreign. Still love this game though, 7/10.

AnonymousI must be a little piggy because I'm so happy to eat this game up every day
Also DLC when?
AnonymousThis travesty of a roguelite robbed me of 40 quids. My tasteless friends played this game for dozens of hours and I resent this game for it. This sounds miserable but my life is. Nightreign, the fact it's the only thing my friends talk about AND how fundamentally incompatible I am with it and its principles all contributed to it. Erm, I mean... Screw you Ishizaki, you sweaty wanker with you uninspired slop.

AnonymousPretty good game if you're the kind of persons that thinks buying groceries and checking off stuff is peak entertainment.

AnonymousI got excited for this game at release. Play it for a bit, didn't really like it at first, tried doing mostly solo runs. Put it down for a few weeks. Picked it back up again, stuck to trios, I like it now. Finally beat my first nightlord going solo. Turns out I had to give this game a chance just like I did for Demon's Souls back in the day.

Anonymous"Teammates can revive a downed player by attacking them". Never change, Miyazaki, you trolltastic bastard; I swear, this kinda crap ... only with Fromsoft.

AnonymousYou know, I wanted to cushion the blow a little bit, but I think I just straight up hate this game, it's antithetical to the Fromsoftware experience to a point that I'm surprised the Elden Ring crowd even likes this at all, I'm going to blame all you souls Andies that bought this game day one if they decide that this is the kind of structure they're going to follow from now till the end of the eternity, God knows this company has been out of ideas for a good decade already.

AnonymousYou guys hate but from fromsofts perspective it’s such a low risk high reward where they can work on co op and make a profit for the next few games

It's ridiculous that the game wasnt nerfed before release. Everyone who played the network test will tell you it was way too hard and overtuned. This is bullshit.

Anonymousif they add voice chat I'm uninstalling. don't need some 13 year old kid screaming in my ear

AnonymousPSA: never press "open door" on day 3! It resets every art gauge, removes marais executioner and grafted blade sword buffs completely, and it doesn't reset your revive bars, so if you die you might get 3 bars immediately! Always wait for every person to come over to the gate.

AnonymousEither you and your teammates are all on the same wavelength or it’s cock and ball torture

AnonymousGotta say Nightreign has some very great ideas here and there, but I really do not like how some are executed, for example, for one I feel like the sessions end way too quickly, for two I generally do not like how fast phased this game is, you just are about to get your build online, and before you know it you hit last day (I didn't mind it in say RoR, but for me, it just falls flat here), for three solo runs are genuine torture and make it abundantly clear that this game was never intended to be played solo, I do not know why you would want to force multiplayer this hard when all these games have been realistically always been a single player experience first and foremost, but maybe that's just me complaining for the sake of complaining.

Anonymous
AnonymousPSA: Please for the love of god, drop good items for your teammates. Don't hog an axe of godfrey you aren't using when there's a raider. Don't take a radagon icon when recluse is standing right there.

AnonymousOne major gripe.
Usually roguelikes are so arcadey that they let you know all hidden stats like boost percentages and such. So where are nightfarer stats and relic percentages (like, what does "ultimate art gauge +2" even mean)? Why do i have to trust a deadass letter grading system for stats when a simple 1/60 scale would help much more?

Could be useful for melee classes to powerstance (like 2 axes of godfrey, blasphemous blades, rivers of bloods or something)
Sorry if my comment is too vague, I don't quite remember the exact location
AnonymousYou know the type of comments i miss? Ones that included actual discussion on the game's mechanics and features, ones that offer assistance to people who need help understanding the game, ones that aren't the same repeated boobs or feet joke, ones that were actually funny.

AnonymousI miss the Andy comments, where are you Andy I miss you dearly

AnonymousFextralife is literally r/shittydarksouls but a million times worse, not a single funny comment I've found on here, kinda sad. Ironic how r/nightreign is a million times more wholesome and fun to scroll through while everyone here is making fun of "redditors." I'm never gonna read these comments again, unmoderated comments were a mistake, it'd be better if comments were removed entirely.

Anonymousthey need to a hard mode character , like no ability or anything bullshit like that.

AnonymousThe strategy of this game is NOT going to the **** ruins when we are level 11 and wasting 5 minutes

AnonymousIf I wanted to play monster hunter, I'm going to play monster hunter, not a 40 minutes run back to fight one actual decent boss and then immediately die because you have no clue about what kind of roll catching, input reading, delayed attack or bull shilit mechanic they're forcing down your throat this time around. This is a turning point for Fromsoftware, they can continue this path, and make boss ganking friendslop, stalling and making another "pretend this is not Demon's Souls" game, or they could make actually something unique for once, they probably won't though, we've been playing Demon's Souls with a different skin for 16 years straight, so the chances are slim to none.

AnonymousI think raider is easily the most attractive character, all the others pale in comparison. I haven't even started a match in a week, I've just been staring at it, you know what I'm talking about, my eyes just go right to it, I can't look away.

AnonymousCould you imagine a 8 player team where each player is randomly assigned a nightfarer and you all have to work together?

Anonymous
AnonymousI would like to see a 4 player option eventually. Splitting into teams of two to cover each side of the map then meeting in the center to take the castle would be fun.

AnonymousI love when people say "Let fromsoftware try something new man" and it's literally the same game again, but Fortnite, they were running out of ideas a decade ago, now it's gotten absurd

when you arent desperately begging for every game fromsoft makes to be another darksouls this game kinda bangs ngl

AnonymousFull of trolls who will point down and teabag instead of revive you

AnonymousJesus Christ, every time I lament that these games completely lost track of what they were supposed to be, they get progressively more removed and worse as they move away from their forefather, there's so much wrong with Nightreign design wise it honestly boggles the mind that people who liked DS1 and Demon's can even remotely stand this thing at all, Walmart monster hunter looking ah-.

AnonymousAnyone else experiencing the same glitch where the map's layout is exactly the same as the previous game's layout? Same ruin type, same castle enemies and bosses, same fort locations, same starting zones, the only difference being the loot? It's getting extremely infuriating and ruins the replayability.

AnonymousIt would be nice if there was a feature where you could immediately end an expedition and return to the round table. It would save time when trying test out relic combinations if you could drop in do a few fights then go back if needed.

At this point, as much as I want more content, I think nightreign has enough and fromsoft doesn't really need to add anything else. Even if they don't expand on the game in general anymore I'd at least like everdark heolstor or the dreglord as a final send-off
